I have been going to Billy since he worked in Alameda. I got my first tattoo with him about 7/8 years ago on my shoulder. He did an amazing coverup on my thigh, that we finally finished about 4 years that I get compliments on all the time. He just did two more tattoos for me yesterday that I'm completely in love with. Parking was a breeze and when we walked in the very clean shop, all 3 artists were busy, However, we only waited about 10 min before we were both seated and prepped. I needed another special super fine detailed tattoo and thought of Billy Darr immediately. Years ago he did a beautiful job on my sacred geometry piece that's on my arm. I'm super impressed with how well my tattoo came out ( and it wasn't an easy one) .I used to go to him when he was in Alameda and this was my first time visiting his new shop in Oakland. There is another tattoo artist there named Melissa whose work is also very impressive. The Good Tattoo shop is very pleasing to the eye. It has a rad aqua and pink color theme with tons of art on the walls to lose yourself in while you are laying there. Everything is super clean & organized and the energy there is very welcoming. The shop is super vibrant with many tikis mugs from the owners personal collection with many flash tattoos to pick from.
