I was surprised that they took walk-ins during this time. I called to check and they said I can walk-in after 2pm. I got lucky with the parking meters out front so I paid for two hours. I came in and Matt greeted me right away. He asked what I wanted and told me it would be about 30 minutes. I went to 7-11 down the street and hung out a bit. After that he had me email him the pic I wanted and printed a few copies before finding the right size. I filled out some quick paperwork. He made adjustments for placement and made sure I liked where it was being placed. He took less than 10 minutes for my tattoo but the shop minimum is $150. The place was well kept and super clean. They clean up after each client. I liked that they take card payments and how welcoming they are. read more

Called for a consultation, went in the same day, and completed the day after. His work really speaks for itself. He was able to tweak what I had in mind into something that I loved. This guy's line-work is seriously impeccable and he does it with the quickness. I was amazed at how fast it was done with the quality still clearly shining through when it was finished. This is a review for both Premium Tattoo and my artist, Matt Decker. First off, the shop: the atmosphere is very relaxed and I felt welcomed every time I came in. This is due to tattoo artists and apprentices who clearly enjoy what they do, and make an honest effort to engage with people and make everything a positive experience. As for the tattoo experience itself, Matt is an absolute pro. When I began by explaining the concept for my sleeve, he walked me through the potential challenges posed by it in terms of design (this was my first tattoo). Not to be deterred, I was encouraged by his optimism that he could try to make it work and decided to see what he would come up with. This was definitely a good decision, as he was able to work magic from a few references I gave him. He really wants you to be happy with the sketch before the stencil goes on - even then, he makes sure that you are comfortable before any ink goes in. One thing that I really appreciated before the first session was that he offered to spend time making changes to the design while I watched, to get things just right. I was so impressed with what he came up with initially, that this ultimately wasn't necessary. In terms of blackwork, Matt really knows how to work with negative space and his lines are something else. After two sessions with stencils, I was impressed when he began free-handing in the third session to tie everything together. At that point I didn't fully know what the end result would look like, but the trust he'd built in me after the first two sessions allowed me to bypass any doubt I may have had before walking in the shop. The final thing I will say about Matt's work, is that he is incredibly efficient with his time. 2 years ago I came here on a recommendation from a friend who has his body covered head to toe in tattoos. I came in to see Danielle. She spent the time with me on the consultation and didn't rush me. Answered all my questions I had regarding the tattoo. Once we talked, she went over drew it up and showed me for approval. Once I approved the tattoo it was go time. Time for Danielle to pop my tattoo cherry. Danielle's work is very smooth. She is very friendly and will ask how you are doing throughout the whole process. Today I went back and got my second from her!! She is that good. Everyone in the place is nice and friendly. They are picky with there work. It might look right to you, but they will keep on working until it is what they think looks the best. This wasn't my first - and won't be my last - piece of skin art, and Matt's creativity, speed, and artistic abilities definitely stand out from the pack. I am extremely grateful for Matt Decker for doing an amazing job on my cattoo. As other reviewers have noted, he is an absolute genius. I am not one of those people who just pops into a tattoo parlor and is happy with whatever I get in the moment. I am a perfectionist, who had consultations with multiple tattoo artists and checked out countless instagrams before settling on Matt for tattooing a tribute for my beloved cat. This was only my second tattoo, and it had been over twenty years since my first one. I was a bit nervous about the whole process, but Matt made everything so easy from beginning to end. Here are the things I really appreciated: 1) He told me that if I was not happy with the design, we would just go back to the drawing board at no extra cost. 2) He is such a perfectionist he repositioned the stencil four times before settling it in the right place, making sure I was ok with his decision at every step. 3) He's fast! 4) He really listens to what you want during consultation and then just magically draws up exactly what you wanted. I didn't even ask to fix any part of his drawing because it was perfect to begin with. 5) He made me laugh during the tattooing by singing along to some experimental heavy metal. He literally had the album memorized. LOL. Bonus: His trusted sidekick Dusty is also hilarious. I'm not sure exactly what Dusty's job is, but I think it's to distract people from the pain by making them laugh. At least, that's what he did for me.
