After searching for someone in the city that is skilled in Japanese artwork, I found Luke. Luke did my tattoo and I am absolutely in love with it. He is very artistic and methodical when it comes to tattooing. I wanted someone to finish a sleeve for me that someone else started and Luke was able to deliver an amazing result. I asked for a dragon koi and he delivered. The waves and the flames made the tattoo stand out. The detail and time he put into my piece was wonderful. This is one of the best pieces I have on me.

Jared added to an existing peach on my arm. So happy with the way it turned out!

I have loved all of the artists at Seventh Son and followed from afar on social media for years! This shop truly has top notch talent. I was able to get a guest spot with a former artist of mine a little over four years ago and was in awe of how big the space was when I walked in. Fast forward to October 2023, when I decided to get a tattoo on a whim for my birthday. I was scrolling through Instagram early morning and saw that the shop reposted Jared's story that he had time on my actual birthday to tattoo. I took a leap and messaged and it ended up working out that our taste in art matched, so we confirmed an appointment to meet and get tattooed that same day. Upon meeting Jared at the shop, I was super excited to get tattooed. He was patient and kind and actually listened to my all over the place ideas. (I didn't really know what I wanted to get. I just knew I wanted to get tattooed.) We decided on the subject matter and I left for 45 minutes so he could draw something up for me. The entire time I was in the shop, I felt welcomed by him and everyone else who was there that day. It seemed like great place to work because everyone was chatting and having a good time and bouncing ideas off of one another. I would definitely recommend Jared as your tattooer (as well as anyone else. Everyone is so capable and great at what they do).

This review is for Miss Juliet/Giulia - I am not a big Yelp person but I know, as a dark skinned person in San Francisco, I read through a ton of reviews and Instagram profiles looking for tattoo artists and it was pretty hard because there aren't good examples up of their work looks so thought this could be helpful for others! I have been following her on Instagram for awhile and she had a last minute cancellation so I got in two days later. I emailed her some ideas, she was very responsive and made some little tweaks and added a moth (love moths!). On the day of, she had two different options for me to pick from and was very prepared. She was also very warm and personable. The line drawing/stencil was BEAUTIFUL and the tattoo turned out so pretty! Overall, very good experience and I will be back.

I just got tattooed by Kim Thomas & I couldn't be happier! She's a great artist & very personable! It sounds cheesy but it was actually a pleasure getting tattooed by her.

Had my first session done here for the past weekend. I was on the waitlist for one year and finally got to my scheduled date. Great quality of tattoos and services. The stations are well spaced and naturally lit with sunlight through the sun roofs. I have been to 10+ shops in my life and this place definitely is one of the top ones!

**EXCELLENT TAT PARLOR WITH EXCEPTIONAL ARTISTS** Jeff did my Saints tat last year which received many compliments. Jeff also did my recent Darth Vader tat. The lofty premise was welcoming and clean. Jeff's station was comfortable with bottles of colorful ink, mirrors, and pictures of his body artwork. He is awesome and he knows it. Background 90's hip hop music soothed my soul. 2 painful hours later, I had an impressive Darth Vader helmet, forever imprinted and etched as my tramp stamp. Initial (common) reaction: WTF, she has a Darth Vader tattoo, dude. Secondary (follow-up) reaction: The force is strong with this one. LOVED IT. NOTE: CASH ONLY. RECOMMEND.

2 sessions in, still need the calf and left side of right leg to sleeve it out haha!!!!!

if 5 stars is top, I would easily give this place 10 If your looking for tribal look no further Orly is the person you want to come and see, all the artist here are talented, there books of work show all the amazing tattoos that have come out of this shop. Orly's approach is more of consultation of what you want then the he will try to carve out some time in his already busy schedule to get you on the table and inked. Freehand I believe is the method he uses, red ink for the basic outline and from there the artist comes out. Two session of about 4 hours total put in to begin my right leg from the knee to ankle sleeve, the center and right hand side is now complete, just need to come back and finish some lettering on the back of my calf and what ever will flow to finish up the left hand side of my right shin. In all I am very happy with the work done, I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for their first tat if not for folks trying to get new work done. tattoos ***** price - this all matters on size and detail from my understanding service ***** ambiance ***** Cleanliness is key and this spot is clean!!! hard wood floors, most of the artist in house have their work in frames hanging on the walls, wide open space not like some other tattoo shops where you are crammed up in the back on a dentist chair if not older wide massage chair, very friendly staff only flaw, "PARKING" this is not something they can control, try to park in the garage next door I think it is $10 for the day until 6pm then you have to move your car to the street, be wary if you park in the street meter maids are like hawks in this area well in the city in general

I'm super glad I found this place! Luke Stewart is the owner and I'd have to say, he is a very humble and talented artist. It was definitely worth the wait. Everyone in the shop is nice and friendly. I have to commute from Santa Clara to San Francisco and to me it's worth the drive. I'm so happy with my results. It took me a long time to find an artist that could fulfill my tattoo expectations. I would highly recommend Luke for all your traditional Japanese tattoos. He did my Crane sleeve on my left arm with the expectations of doing my right arm sleeve as well. I get compliments all the time on my sleeve. I've had other tattoos done in the past when I was younger and I regret them all. Which is why I'm glad I took the time to do my research and the money spent is well worth it. You definitely get what you pay for. My kids aren't allowed to get tattoos until after the age of 25 because when you're young and dumb, you don't know any better! Lol Just sayin! I tell Luke he is my artist/psychiatrist all in one because he has good advice and we have interesting conversations considering that we have to spend a few hours at a time for each session. You kill 2 birds with one stone! Plus he is very gentle and he always checks on me to make sure I'm doing okay. He even offered me food during my first session because I haven't eaten for the last 5 hours but he just wanted to make sure I wouldn't pass out. But I was fine. It's not painful to me. My bicep area was probably the only time it was most tender. Maybe I have a high tolerance for pain and I'm not scared of needles. It's because I've had kids! Haha Nothing is worse than labor! The healing process is very itchy and is the only part I can't stand because I want to scratch soo bad but I can't so I'm constantly slapping my arm and looking like a crazy person. I've used H2Ocean Moisturizing Foam and it helps calm the itching down and so does ice. If you run out of that, coconut oil helps the healing process too. Luke will also spray some Bactine to kind of numb the area. Keep in mind, it can be quite a challenge finding parking. I usually schedule for a couple hours on Saturdays and find street parking without meters. If it's more than a couple hours I schedule on weekdays at a late time so that after 6pm it's free. I'm excited to see what he draws up for me on my right arm for I am extremely happy with my left. I have yet to take a final picture of the finished product but if you're looking for a tattoo artist, Luke's the man! You won't regret it!!

What's the hour rate?

It depends on the artist you want. It's best to call to find out. :)

I originally came in for a flash sale, but they overbooked and asked to move me to the following day. I let them know I would be out of town that morning, so they offered me the last appointment of the day and took my deposit. The next day, after reassessing my schedule, I realized I wouldn't be able to make it and informed them as soon as possible. I was told the deposit was non-refundable. I then asked if I could reschedule for another day, but they said no because it was part of the flash sale--even though the rescheduling was due to their overbooking. I also asked if the deposit could be applied toward a regular (non-flash sale) appointment, and that was declined as well. I ultimately kept the appointment, but the situation didn't sit well with me. While the artist did great work, I was disappointed in how the studio handled the booking and deposit policy.

His technique is very precise, and i can say out of all my 6 previous tattoos, this one hurt the least! Okay so 15 years ago I had surgery on my chest (keyword: transman, ftm, transguy, transgender male, you get the idea) and my nipples did not stay in tact. They actually feel off in front of me in the shower with the scabs. What a nightmare. Reconstructing new nipples was not possible or ideal with my surgeon so I've been living with flat nipples and discolored areolas for the last 15 years. I really thought I had NO hope until I found Sasha. Angels sing please, wait for it and rejoice. I've been wanting to do 3D nipple tattooing and areola re-pigmenting for awhile but was 1. not in the best state of health and 2. very very very nervous. Well today, we finally made this happen. I got an appointment schedule over a month in advance. I put down a $100 deposit via Pay Pal. I waited and panicked and then the big day came. I got a ride down to SF. Sasha's shop is on the 17th floor of a building in Union Square. There's a parking garage a block away. It cost $35 and gets you up to 12 hours in the lot. You are not going to find street parking so if you're driving you will want to fork out $35 and be happy your car is safe with only a block to walk! Sasha gave me complete instructions and directions ahead of time. She is VERY professional and organized with her scheduling and timing. The office she works out of is awesome! The entire office and outdoor patio (with wild beautiful birds and parrots might I add) has a total zen approach. The front desk folks were also REALLY NICE and totally trans/queer friendly. Sasha's room was very clean with a sitting area for guests. She was extremely polite, patient, compassionate and thorough to walk me through the ENTIRE process and 1. give me voice throughout it all and 2. check in frequently to see how I was doing. Nipple and areola shopping is quite fun! I got to pick the size, shape and color variation to design on my chest. Boom! I feel so Hollywood now ;) She is extremely sterile and showed me ALL the needles she was using before and as she was using them. Everything from the office, her station, the tattoo bed, frequent changing of gloves, packaged needles, organized ink palettes, fresh paper towels, rubbing alcohol, ETC were CLEAN. I really appreciated how intuitive she was like when I held my breath during bits of pain and she could feel me tense up and gently remind me to breathe. I was excited and anxious and nervous and emotional all at once but she eased me through EVERYTHING. May I also include she has a gentle hand so the needles don't feel like they are digging deeper than deep like some tattoo artists who put all their weight on their artistry hands. Pain level ... well this boy whimpered some but she did use some topical anesthetic after the skin had been broken into to help ease pain. It DID help some. My results, pre bandaging, were beautiful. The bandaging she used is really neat. It's waterproof and clear like a clear tape. I honestly can't stop staring at my new nips even if things are still bloody and bandaged up! I was given very detailed after care instructions which I will be meticulous about following. I can't wait to see the overall results. I'll be scheduling a touch up/follow up in a 1 1/2 months or so. I look forward to seeing her again! Cost breakdown for ME and what I got done: $700 total... that's $100 deposit then $450 the day of the tattoo and then I will pay $150 during our touch up + tip today and I'll tip again on the touch up. Don't forget to tip. Some artists will say you don't have to, don't listen! Tips for those new nips my friends! TIPS! 100% happy with my experience, actually happy is an understatement. I am enthralled like a unicorn catching rainbows and sprinkling glitter from the sky. Yes, indeed. I will recommend her in a HEARTBEAT to any other trans folks who need this procedure, cancer and mastectomy patients or just anyone in need of this kind of help. I was SO ASHAMED of my chest, a chest I fought so hard to learn to love post surgery but still deeply upset about what happened and the trauma from loosing my nipples to my feet in the shower (yikes, just imagine). Now I can live again. This is part 1 of my chest tattooing process (I'll be doing scar coverage with another artist since Sasha is not taking new decorative tattoo clients at this time) and then I will be free. You deserve to be free too. I hope you will consider Sasha and let her help you change your life, confidence and get your groove back!!!
