Great experience not your typical tattoo parlor. Nice people work here and super friendly environment. Great artists and very welcoming place. I got a great tattoo and while I was there I felt very comfortable. I love the plants growing in the window. Parking was easy and was not hard to find a spot on a Saturday in the city.

I'm legit getting tattooed right now and am having the best time. I was relaying how this tattoo experience was the exact opposite of my first one, which was in a dark and very dude bro parlor in Sacramento. The vibes are immaculate as soon as you walk through the door. It didn't hurt that they were legit playing my jams. Regina is super chill and created the tattoo I've been dreaming of for two decades. She's collaborative, gentle and just rad as ****!

Wow, I'm truly honored and amazed to have the opportunity to receive such a stunning and enchanting piece from Brittney. She created a customized sailor Saturn silence death glaive for me on my left outer forearm. My experience was nothing short of magical, and I am so thrilled to share it with everyone. Britney is a true gem and her communication was seamless from the first interaction we had to when we met in the studio. Her ability to understand my vision for the tattoo is simply astounding. Through the reference pictures I sent her, she was able to turn my vision into a wonderful and gorgeous reality. It is the most beautiful piece I have ever gotten done. Truly. The tattoo studio, Gold Leaf ink. is a very comforting and warm and vibey studio. You're surrounded by plants that are very vibrant & great artists that are welcoming. I'm absolutely over the moon with my Sailor Saturn tattoo and cannot express enough gratitude for the enchanting artwork that I can finally done forever on my skin. I already schedule my next session, and I can't wait. If you're considering a tattoo artist who's communicative, passionate about her craft, and is so so so exceptional with the tattoo needle, book with her. Check out her IG to see her portfolio: @brittnaami

    Hip hop tattoo by Regina
    Brian B.

I cant say enough good things about Gold Leaf and Regina. I knew I wanted a tattoo with the four elements of hip hop and what Regina came out with is more than anything I could've asked for. Regina is talented as all hell, shop is clean, and professional. Highly recommend if you're lucky enough to get a tattoo here

Britt (@brittnaami - insta) is an amazing artist with a beautiful eye and hand for detail. She listened to exactly what I had in mind and completely blew me away with the concept art she created for me. She is truly an artist that is super savy with her craft. Lover her energy and vibe! She diligently worked on my arm for almost 7 hours. Actually, had a blast pummeling through those 7 hrs. Didn't feel much pain and I had so much fun being in her company. I already have everyone asking me where I got my tattoo and that the artwork is hella dope. Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort to create this beautiful piece! Proud to have your artwork on me! Thank you! I'll come back for the ouroboros and other tattoo ideas I had in mind! :D

I personally had a bad experience with Britt (@brittanaami). She was very hard to get in contact with. I had to contact her on two social media platform in order for her to respond. As a client, I expect the business/artist to reach out and confirm the appt since it was scheduled so far in advance. I understand that life gets busy but it's part of their job. I was excited for this tattoo and waited for a year and half for this appt. And now, I am extremely frustrated with the unprofessionalism and lack of communication. I'm sure if the roles were reversed, the artist will be just as mad with the last minute rescheduling and canceling. To preface this, I scheduled an appt for Dec. 4, 2022 @ 3:00PM about a year and a half ago (Aug. 31, 2021). I'm also coming from out of town (about 2 hrs away from SF). I emailed and DMed her to confirm my appt on Dec. 2, 2022. During this message exchange, I found out that she had not seen my reference photos. I emailed them on Nov. 22, 2022, about 2 weeks prior to the appt (as requested when we first made the appt). She then asked me to push my appt 2 hrs back to 5PM. I did not feel comfortable with the short amount of time to design a tattoo that will be on my body permanently when she didn't even look at my reference photos. She provided alternative dates and even suggested our original time (which I appreciated). I agreed on Dec. 11 @ 12:00PM. Following that conversation, I politely voiced my concerns by saying, "I would've appreciated it if she reached out or followed up with me sooner so that this whole situation could've been avoided in the first place. This situation was stressful for me because I live pretty far from the city now and made sure to allocate a sufficient amount of time to come back to get tattooed by her." She then said that it was not a good idea to tattoo me because I was upset about this situation and offered to return the deposit. She also explained that it's not unusual for artists to design a piece a day prior or day of (which I understand now; different artist, different process). I told her I'm still interested in getting a tattoo with her. I suggested to give it some space and see how things were in a week. We agreed to keep the Dec 11th appt (see attached photo). Fast forward a week later, Friday, Dec. 9th. I DMed her to confirm the appt, initiating the conversation again. No reply. Didn't want to risk my deposit and be considered a "no-show," I arrived at my appt 10 mins before the scheduled time. Britt said that she was not expecting me as she did not confirm the appt and that we were suppose to touch base before. She also mentioned that she didn't see my DM even though she was expecting us to touch base. She also had another client booked for my time after we agreed to keep my appt. Got my deposit back. Safe to say, I will not be coming back.

I can't say enough about how great my experience was at Gold Leaf with Regina (@inkbypush). The studio is bright, clean, and comfortable. Regina listened patiently and made sure she understood what I was after before we played with the design, which she was very willing to do. This was my first tattoo on a sensitive part of the body (upper ribs/side chest) AND was over scar tissue, yet I felt completely comfortable with and reassured by her throughout the whole process. It turned out beautifully and I'm so happy about it. What a warm, charming, incredibly talented and professional artist and studio. I definitely recommend going, and plan to come back!

Right after she finished my tattoo! Lotus flower (bottom), Aster flowers (second) and a carnation on the top! Amazing!!

Couldn't ask for a better tattoo artist! Regina is super sweet, funny and AMAZING!! I will definitely be seeing her again in the near future! Her studio is super clean with lots of plants. Lots of lighting too! She created my tattoo better than I have imagined! Thank you again, Regina!! (Pinsan!)

I am absolutely in LOVE with my tattoo. So happy to have seen Britt, she is such a sweetie and I would love to come back again. Her line work is super clean and she was very detailed. Thank you so much!!!

    Can you find the mole?
    Jayne S.

I have been following Regina for years and have always loved her art, especially her botanicals. As I got older, I developed this mole (technically it's a sun spot according to the doctor) that I knew would look great "decorated" with Regina's flowers. I wasn't sure what kind but she showed me some examples and I immediately fell in love with her peonies. It was my birthday weekend as well, so I thought of getting daffodils as a symbol of rebirth and she was able to draw some up for me really quick. Regina has a gentle, light hand yet extremely detailed and super fast. She's just also a really dope person and although I'm happy she was able to breeze through my tattoo quickly, I wouldn't have minded if it took longer haha. I am so happy with my tattoo, I almost don't want to share because I want her all to myself lol but if you are looking for a clean, beautiful, inviting space with an incredibly talented tattoo artist then you've found the one. I can't wait to get more from her!

    The final product.
    Michelle D.

One of the best experiences of my life.  This is also my first tattoo so, as Regina mentioned, I do not have anything to compare it to. However, I have heard many stories from friends that do have tattoos, and yes.. eventhough I have nothing to compare it to... I know that this was special beyond words. When I saw the design Regina sketched outfor me,  for the first time (day of appointment), I was speechless. Thought it was perfect. The more I looked at it the more powerful it became. I did have a nudge in my head that it was missing something... With this being my first tattoo, I felt it was rude to vocalize the one item that I felt was missing. I communicated it and she was so responsive and open to it. Through out the session, Regina threw out some ideas as well of how she thought the piece would work better, and I was open to it. I am very humbled by other peoples art, and was aware that this is HER art and HER passion, and trusted that she could see the details that she found fitting for what would be way beyond my mind and eyes to see or even think of. I showed up with an iPad and netflix, thinking that I would need a distraction from the pain or buzzing sound, but I did not need it at all. There was island reggae playing in the background endlessly, I asked Regina a million questions of how she started as an artist to how she ended up on Market street of SF, to realizing that everything about how I ended up on her tattoo table/chair with her behind the needle and ink, was nothing but universal perfection. I have all the gratitude in the universe towards her, her art, her passion, and dedication to feeding into her creativity. I ended calling my piece "Goddess of the universe, healer of the world, powered by the Moon". I would not change this experience for anything in the world.

Where is the best place for parking?

There's usually parking on Waller St, Octavia or Pearl. All within one block.

I see that books are closed right now, I'm curious as to how far they are booking out/how often they open their books? Any help is super appreciated! :)

Everyone's books are open right now. A couple artists have openings next week. We'd love to see you!

    Does she do add-on pieces?

All of us are happy to do add-ons if it makes sense. At the end of the day we just want you to have something you love and are proud of :)

Do you guys use other colors?

Gold Leaf Ink specializes in blackwork. Color is sometimes used as a highlight, but quite rarely.

Do you guys do cover ups?

@dentaldamage works with heavier blackwork designs and has done many coverups. @inkbypush & @brittnaami specialize in fine line, minimalistic black work which don't work well for coverups.

    What's your shop minimum?

According to their website: www.inkbypush.com there are a $100 non-refundable deposit and a minimum of $400

I originally came in for a flash sale, but they overbooked and asked to move me to the following day. I let them know I would be out of town that morning, so they offered me the last appointment of the day and took my deposit. The next day, after reassessing my schedule, I realized I wouldn't be able to make it and informed them as soon as possible. I was told the deposit was non-refundable. I then asked if I could reschedule for another day, but they said no because it was part of the flash sale--even though the rescheduling was due to their overbooking. I also asked if the deposit could be applied toward a regular (non-flash sale) appointment, and that was declined as well. I ultimately kept the appointment, but the situation didn't sit well with me. While the artist did great work, I was disappointed in how the studio handled the booking and deposit policy.

Okay so 15 years ago I had surgery on my chest (keyword: transman, ftm, transguy, transgender male, you get the idea) and my nipples did not stay in tact. They actually feel off in front of me in the shower with the scabs. What a nightmare. Reconstructing new nipples was not possible or ideal with my surgeon so I've been living with flat nipples and discolored areolas for the last 15 years. I really thought I had NO hope until I found Sasha. Angels sing please, wait for it and rejoice. I've been wanting to do 3D nipple tattooing and areola re-pigmenting for awhile but was 1. not in the best state of health and 2. very very very nervous. Well today, we finally made this happen. I got an appointment schedule over a month in advance. I put down a $100 deposit via Pay Pal. I waited and panicked and then the big day came. I got a ride down to SF. Sasha's shop is on the 17th floor of a building in Union Square. There's a parking garage a block away. It cost $35 and gets you up to 12 hours in the lot. You are not going to find street parking so if you're driving you will want to fork out $35 and be happy your car is safe with only a block to walk! Sasha gave me complete instructions and directions ahead of time. She is VERY professional and organized with her scheduling and timing. The office she works out of is awesome! The entire office and outdoor patio (with wild beautiful birds and parrots might I add) has a total zen approach. The front desk folks were also REALLY NICE and totally trans/queer friendly. Sasha's room was very clean with a sitting area for guests. She was extremely polite, patient, compassionate and thorough to walk me through the ENTIRE process and 1. give me voice throughout it all and 2. check in frequently to see how I was doing. Nipple and areola shopping is quite fun! I got to pick the size, shape and color variation to design on my chest. Boom! I feel so Hollywood now ;) She is extremely sterile and showed me ALL the needles she was using before and as she was using them. Everything from the office, her station, the tattoo bed, frequent changing of gloves, packaged needles, organized ink palettes, fresh paper towels, rubbing alcohol, ETC were CLEAN. I really appreciated how intuitive she was like when I held my breath during bits of pain and she could feel me tense up and gently remind me to breathe. I was excited and anxious and nervous and emotional all at once but she eased me through EVERYTHING. May I also include she has a gentle hand so the needles don't feel like they are digging deeper than deep like some tattoo artists who put all their weight on their artistry hands. Pain level ... well this boy whimpered some but she did use some topical anesthetic after the skin had been broken into to help ease pain. It DID help some. My results, pre bandaging, were beautiful. The bandaging she used is really neat. It's waterproof and clear like a clear tape. I honestly can't stop staring at my new nips even if things are still bloody and bandaged up! I was given very detailed after care instructions which I will be meticulous about following. I can't wait to see the overall results. I'll be scheduling a touch up/follow up in a 1 1/2 months or so. I look forward to seeing her again! Cost breakdown for ME and what I got done: $700 total... that's $100 deposit then $450 the day of the tattoo and then I will pay $150 during our touch up + tip today and I'll tip again on the touch up. Don't forget to tip. Some artists will say you don't have to, don't listen! Tips for those new nips my friends! TIPS! 100% happy with my experience, actually happy is an understatement. I am enthralled like a unicorn catching rainbows and sprinkling glitter from the sky. Yes, indeed. I will recommend her in a HEARTBEAT to any other trans folks who need this procedure, cancer and mastectomy patients or just anyone in need of this kind of help. I was SO ASHAMED of my chest, a chest I fought so hard to learn to love post surgery but still deeply upset about what happened and the trauma from loosing my nipples to my feet in the shower (yikes, just imagine). Now I can live again. This is part 1 of my chest tattooing process (I'll be doing scar coverage with another artist since Sasha is not taking new decorative tattoo clients at this time) and then I will be free. You deserve to be free too. I hope you will consider Sasha and let her help you change your life, confidence and get your groove back!!!
