I heard that this local chain was really good, so on a rainy day while we had time to kill on a flight, we came here for breakfast -- and I'm so glad we did! Nice vibes and simple decor, I can see coming here to work sometimes if I lived nearby. I got the breakfast sandwich with scrambled eggs but on a croissant instead of the sourdough. The scrambled eggs were perfectly soft like I like them and not overcooked, and the croissant was so nice and buttery and flakey. I couldn't help myself and got a slice of the lemon poppyseed loaf too, and I couldn't believe how big of a slice they give you! I saved it for later and even though I didn't eat it until the next day, it still tasted great (even better warmed up!) The latte I got was a good quality too. I have loved every tatte I have been in. This one doesn't fail to impress - the inside is bright and gorgeous and classy, and the food and drink are high quality and wonderful. Great food and comfortable seating. There isn't a lot of street parking, but if you're around, it's very spacious inside and the food orders are taken quickly and prepared reasonably quickly as well. The house breakfast comes with a whopping pile of potato fritters, fluffy eggs, and sourdough bread, so a pretty well-rounded meal. The oatmeal and fruit had a great proportion of both. The coffee was decent, and there is a great array of baked goods. The sour cherry and cheese Danish was top-notch and worked best when one could get a bite of both sides. They also had a lot of pies and other good already boxed up to go for your convenience. The food was all tasty and there were a lot of good options. If you come with other people, I would recommend getting one sandwich one bread, one coffee that way you can try multiple things. I got the croissant sandwich and a coffee and got too full so I did not get a pastry :( they look so yummy, but I was so full. The service is very nice. Not being local I'm not exactly hip to all the popular coffee shop chains but Tatte is apparently one of them with two dozen locations around Boston. It was pretty busy on Saturday morning when I visited but the line moved quickly and the staff was still friendly. I just wanted my order to go so I could walk back to my hotel. While I waited for my drink I had time to regret not staying to eat food because some of the plates looked very tasty. But no time for that, only time to admire the tile pattern on the floor and head out into the world and hope I didn't get lost again. I am not great with directions. I went with the Tatte House Latte (honey-halva & cardamom), Kouign-amann, and Passionfruit Krembo. The latte was delicious. I'm sure it's better warm, the spices and honey would be nice heated, but I still enjoyed it iced. The flavor is good, not particularly strong, and the sweetness level is low so I felt like it was a balanced start to my day. The Kouign-amann was tasty, but I have better ones back home in San Diego. It was still a flaky pastry with the signature crispy sugared bits so it wasn't bad. The Passionfruit Krembo though, now that was a VERY tasty dessert I still think about. I squirreled it away in the fridge for a post dinner treat when I knew I'd appreciate it the most. The layer of marshmallow was a delicious cloud, the tang of the passionfruit curd mixed with it well, and the crunchy base was the perfect textural contrast. I've already found some bootleg recipes for the house latte on various blogs so it's clearly loved by tourists wanting a little taste of their Boston vacation. Same. But will I be able to replicate the krembo magic at home? Time will tell! Worst case scenario I can't. Just means another trip or two to Tatte when I'm out that way again. read more

The bakery items here are sooo yummy! The pistachio croissant is buttery and flakey and I love how there's pistachio paste inside. The pistachio berry tart was also yum! Very buttery and heavier tho. I will say both items are better fresh. I also got the ice house latte and the cardamom spice is definitely there and not light. If you're a fan of that, def get it. The Pistachio Croissant and iced latte was great. Prices are very fair, staff is really kind, and all around atmosphere is nice.

Love Tatte for a Matcha or a cup of their delicious muesli, however the breakfast food is made with little love. Very very friendly service as well but our orders are incorrect most of the time with what seems like confused or inexperienced servers. We'll be back though. FOOD: chicken pita sandwich-- the pita bread was high quality and pillowy soft. It tasted really good, but I was sad that within 15min (see story below), the sandwich turned soggy because of it being overloaded with tomatoes and green sauce. Parts of the sandwich definitely fell out as I was eating it & it caused quite the mess. Overall, it was good; just be prepared to eat it right away. Almond croissant-- a little too sweet in that it had honey glazed(?) almonds on top in addition to the almond paste filling. I'm more used to savory croissants but it would pair perfectly with a cup of americano or espresso. Pistachio cherry tart-- I had to get it given how many people have reviewed it. It lives up to the hype. Not too sweet & the perfect balance of nutty and berry. I'm being generous with the 3 stars here because I think I spent nearly 30 minutes waiting for my TO GO order for a chicken pita sandwich, an almond croissant, and a pistachio cherry square. The wait did not happen because the food took long to prepare; rather, whoever was preparing my order forgot to include the croissant. With my luck, the line doubled by the time I did receive my chicken pita sandwich (within 10min) and realized my croissant was missing so I waited back on line to request my croissant. It was also not clear to me where to pick up my to-go order (there's a separate shelved area near the back kitchen) and I had to ask the staff about it, who was very kind to grab my my to-go paper bag for me. That being said, the service and staff here were phenomenal! Clarisa took my order and she was very patient, clearly efficient, and generous enough to grab my order when I couldn't locate the pick-up shelves. I also know it was not her who forgot my croissant because she specifically handed me my pistachio square and asked her colleague to grab the almond croissant for me. After I waited back online to get my croissant, a different staff member apologized to me and was very understanding of the situation, which I appreciated immensely. It definitely seemed like Tatte was understaffed and swamped during peak hours as many businesses are during this pandemic & I'm grateful the staff are working very hard. read more

Very impressed with Tatte Bakeries presentation, quality, and taste. When my order arrived from DoorDash, it was very nicely packaged with seals all over everything to ensure safety. The iced coffee arrived still cold with full cubes of ice. The coffee was also so so good. The sandwich and the borek were very clearly homemade, fresh, and delicious. Well it's expensive to begin with, and if the food and service commands the price, I'm good with it. In this case, it did not. The eggs had some weird taste like mint or something in them, which is nasty. We ordered sour dough toast but got rye (disgusting bread). The espresso coffees were luke warm at best, which I absolutely hate but drank anyway. On the flip side it was a blessing that it wasn't hot as my wife ended up dumping half her cup all over her lap because the tables are so damn small you can barely put 2 smallish size plates, 2 coffee cups with saucers, salt and pepper etc on the table, so she caught the cup with her dress as she was sitting back down. The cup was placed near the edge of the table, because of the previously mentioned problem. And the reason she spilled the coffee was that she had to leave her seat to chase the waiter; she had ordered a to-go croissant for someone else and the muppet delivering the food to the tables delivered it to the table next to us - in a to-go box - when they were dining in, then walked around the cafe several times with a croissant on a plate for that same table. My wife figured out where they screwed up and got up to tell the server. When she sat back down, her dress caught the cup and pulled it right into her lap and the subsequent coffee shower. Even her feet were sopping with coffee. Lucky she is not one that is quick to anger so she was remained calm through her pain and embarrassment. No chance we'll waste money here again. read more

Came for some holiday cookies! The packaging was very nice and beautifully wrapped in a box with a bow. The cookies within that package were a bit underwhelming - they were topped with various nuts or fruit, but lacked distinctive flavor. However, their butter cookies with Nutella filling are absolutely excellent. And you can buy a whole platter of them for about $10. Their iconic Linzer cookies are good, but quite pricey. read more

The lemon flavor complimented the sparkling water very well. All together, creating a very unique taste. The nuttella cookie was also very good as expected. Service was on point with a decent number of workers. Atmosphere was like a small placid café. There's also jazz coffee shop music playing at a decent volume. Fantastic place to work at or to take a date. The pastries always seem to hit the spot, with an especially unique variety of choices (pistachio cherry bar, halva cookie, etc.). My only gripe is consistency -- the coffee drinks are very hit or miss. My first time having the halva latte, I was blown away: very nutty, mild sweetness, and punchy espresso undertone. The second time, it tasted extremely dull and overly sugary. That being said, this place has become a staple for me, just a small critique. read more

Tatte is hands down my favorite casual brunch spot in Boston. Every food and drink I've ordered from Tatte has never failed to impress. Unfortunately Tatte is not in the tristate area, so I've made it a point to visit every time I'm in Boston or D.C. The food is always fresh, warm, and made to perfection. The menu has lots and lots of options to choose from (all the options seem great, I always have a hard time choosing). The portions are also just right. You leave feeling satisfied but not stuffed. The breakfast/ brunch food feels clean to eat and on the healthy side. Everything on your plate makes for a perfect combination and the flavors and textures go well with each other. The food is also prepared pretty quickly. I enjoy ordering the seasonal, unique drinks that you can't just find at any typical cafe. The cafe has a vibrant, pleasant ambiance that makes for a nice place to sit and spend time. It is also usually pretty clean and there's a lot of natural lighting. I've ordered pick up here many times and each time the food is cold, AND something is missing. Is it really that hard to receive an order and put it in a bag for pick up?
