Looks small from outside but very clean and large inside. Very friendly service. Food was excellent and great presentation on plates. Authentic polish food. Ordered appetizers. Entries. Beer flight and desert. All were great.

Came here during the week with my girlfriends and we had a great time. When you walk in, you are taken to a cute little Polish restaurant The atmosphere is super cozy. I love the little fireplace looking thing in the back. The waiter was very nice. All of the food was fresh and you can tell was made on site. It took a little longer to make which I didn't mind because I knew they were taking their time for quality. Margaritas were also amazing. I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a hidden gem. Potato pancakes and pierogies were definitely the highlight of the show.

This was my second time here and I wasn't disappointed. Great food, service and interior space. I would recommend this spot, it's truly authentic Polish cuisine!

Another A-Plus dinner at Tatra House. The atmosphere alone makes it a great spot for a night out. It's really unfair how good the food is. It ruins all other Polish food for you. This time around we tried the sampler platter with stuffed cabbage kielbasa and pierogis. All of them were the best I've ever had. The mini stuffed cabbages will be dreamt about for a month. They are delicate and flavorful and didn't even neeed the sauce they come with. The kilebasa was on another level. ive been eating kielbasa my whole life and not really loving it. This I loved!! Pierogis were perfectly cooked and also didn't need the sour cream or mustard. We also tried the potato pancakes. They were a 10/10. Perfection!! The rack of lamb was also amazing. Although next time we will get the balsamic glaze on the side. Would like some bites of it plain. The pork stuffed with plums I'm told was also a winner. I didn't personally try. I had the chicken Kiev. Now it takes a while for them to make it so when you order it expect a 40 minute wait on it. Which is a little long in my opinion to wait on food. That said it's another great dish. The onion soup which is similar to French onion couldn't have been better. Think French onion but thicker and slightly different flavoring. Only things I don't love from here are some of the sides. Didn't care for the fried cabbage or the mashed potato's. The cabbage is a bit too bitter and mushy and the potato's are dry and don't have much flavor. My favorite side was the carrot cole slaw. I could eat a 5 pound bucket of it. Dirty martini was fantastic yet again. Great job by the entire staff. Can't wait to come back.

Fresh, authentic, delicious food. Really incredible service in a welcoming beautiful environment. I spent some time in Poland a few years ago and missed the flavors I had there. This restaurant hit all cravings.

Tatra House in Wallington, NJ. @tatrahausrestaurant is a special place for me because my whole family is from Poland! Every time I have Polish food it's very nostalgic and warms my soul. The service and ambience take you to Poland. It's amazing! @tatrahausrestaurant is special because it's a specific type of Polish restaurant that specializes in Polish Highlander Food aka the mountain range of Poland. Came here with my girlfriend while we were on a walk, and it was nice to come back here after a long time, since the only other time was years ago with my parents. We both had fried pierogis and WOW were they lovely! Not only the food was good, but the interior was super charming. The staff was very attentive and kind, I would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area.

Just walk into Tatra Haus and you know you're in for a treat. Meticulously built and decorated... you're immediately in Poland (no passport needed) The food is as authentic as it gets, each dish presented with attention to details. You'll have the mother/grandmother in the kitchen feeling. We've brought various friends of different ethic backgrounds and each one has raved about the food.

Tatra Haus- What a wonderful Polish treat on a cold Autumn evening! We called late Saturday afternoon for an early evening reservation for two. We could hear that the place was already bustling but after a moment of checking they were able to graciously accommodate our reservation request. Parking is a off-street and we were lucky to grab the very first parking spot next to the restaurant. Upon entering, we noticed the place was lively and super cute! The gentleman at the podium was dressed in traditional polish garb and quickly and warmly saw us to a cozy table for two in the middle of the restaurant. The table had our name and the time of the reservation. This place is buttoned up! He let us know the seasonal drink special was a wonderful mulled red wine with spices and fresh orange slices. I had this lovely seasonal beverage and it was fun and warming. Also, this place offers non-alcoholic beer (Heineken Zero) and this was nice to see. The starters were the star of the show for sure! We had the Tatra Trio and it was nothing short of AMAZING. Everything on the platter was an absolute ten. There were three fried cheese pierogis with a generous amount of sweet caramelized onion, tender stuffed cabbage, and a tasty piece of grilled kielbasa. There were no shortage of condiments as the platter came with sides of mustard, ketchup, sour cream, and a tasty tomato sauce. We loved it! We also asked for the potato pancake entree with sheep's cheese as our second appetizer and with the sides of sour cream and apple sauce it did not disappoint. We mutually decided that when we came back we would do the appetizers the exact same way. Perfection! For dinner we had the chicken Kiev and the pork loin with apricot and plum. The chicken Kiev was an impressive large potion and when I sliced into it the yummy filling of cheese and herb oozed out. The pork with apricot and plum was satisfactory but next time we would probably go for the lamb chops or the salmon. I did very much like the side of homemade pork gravy for the mashed potatoes, though. We didn't see it on the dessert menu but we asked our waitress about any pierogis they would offer for dessert. We were so glad we did! They offer strawberry, blueberry, or a mixture of the two. We of course got the mixture and they appeared freshly made to order. They were perfectly steamed with a nice drizzle of berry sauce, whipped cream, and assorted fresh berries such as strawberry, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Yum! This was the perfect way to end our meal. If you a looking for a comforting and fun date night location, Tatra Haus is a smart recommendation. The service is sharp and the host made sure to check on us a few times to make sure we had everything we need. It's a place that's comfy-casual, and gives festive vibes in the best way. Definitely make reservations if you plan to go. Highly recommend!

They have everything here - produce, fresh kielbasa, household items, skincare, pastries, and hot foods just to name a few. The pastries are just kind of on a shelf out in the open, which didn't seem too sanitary (or the buffet for that matter) because the store is VERY tight and the aisles are narrow, so I could see it being easy to knock a hand into it, not to mention the conversations happening next to the cramped buffet station. We ended up ordering hot food from behind the counter since none of the buffet items appealed to us anyway. Nothing was labeled so you have to either know what you want, or guess what the food items are. Or if you want to roll the dice and just point, that works too. It seemed there was only one person behind the counter who spoke English but she was busy helping other customers. We ended up getting the stuffed cabbage. You can order the food by weight, or a dinner portion ($9) where you get an entree, potatoes (choose from 3 different styles) and a salad. We did the roasted potatoes and beet salad and both were great, especially the beet salad. The stuff cabbage was just okay. I thought stuffed cabbage was supposed to be mostly meat, but this one was mostly rice with a few specks of meat. We dug into some of it in the parking lot and it was already cold. I wouldn't order this again. Maybe we just didn't order the right thing. I do wish they had cooked kielbasa behind the hot food counter because I would have loved to try those. There's also a packaged cold food section (i.e. various salads, stews, and pierogies) you can bring home and heat up. I ended up getting a quart of half sour pickles to take home. I wouldn't mind giving this spot another try - possibly some of the kielbasa to throw on the grill at home. I don't know of many Polish grocery stores around, especially with such a variety, so I can see why it's so popular.

On the right as you enter there is a section with all kinds of Polish dairy products, butter, farmer cheese, etc., herring and smoked fish. Continue and you come to a hot food bar, which is attended. So far we have tried the stuffed cabbage and the red cabbage, both very good. La Portena picked up a container of beef tripe soup. A bit salty, but very tender. Continue on, and you will come to a deli counter with many types of kielbasa, kabanosy, hams and all manner of Polish pork products. If you're like me, you'll want to find an English speaker, or you can just gesture. Prices are modest, quality is high. There's a large baked goods section as well. I'm always a little nervous about pastry items in these places, but the rye bread was excellent. The pastries look the part. Along the far wall, you'll find pierogies and the excellent pickles they also sell at the Pastrami Grill. As you wait to pay, you can peruse the selection of herbs, spices, and dried mushrooms. Unfortunately for me, the packaging is all in Polish. Check out is pretty efficient. Overall, I would say the store is friendlier than the Polish places I used to visit in Greenpoint, and it has become my favorite store of its type in the tri-state area. Recommended.

The 7 Sisters is very similar to the one Pechters used to make when they had an attached retail bakery for the public(which sadly closed for good during the pandemic) Other items were cheesecake(more like ricotta not two sweet & despite appearance it's surprisingly moist with a layer of chocolate icing), crystal sugar coated creme horns, layered apple cake & until the last couple of visits very good of all things Florentine Lace cookies(which originated from Italy or France depending on who you talk to). All items are fresh & last 5-7 days. Workers are always polite & even though all Polish do speak enough English to properly serve their non-Polish speaking customers. The bakery is very small so any specialty items I always order ahead. As far as the parking I would just park in the lot next door but on my last visit this past Xmas Eve there was a sign on the bakery door warning not to do that because you may get ticketed &/or towed. Fortunately, I was able to find a spot on the same block on the street. The lot as usual was less than 1/4 full so the town of Passaic needs to use their brains & realize making it harder for small business to succeed(especially one where the local clientele has changed drastically over the years) is only going to cost the town in the long run. At least during this visit the meters were covered so no worries about getting a parking ticket. I will continue to patronize this establishment as long as I can park within a block or two.
