    Potato pancakes over goulash.

The food was very good. We had a variety platter with saurkraut, kielbasa, potato pancakes, and pierogies. We had potato pancakes and goulash. The rye bread on the table was delish. The decor was cute. Very simple. The tables were nicely spaced apart. The waitress was nice, even though she had alot of tables she took it in stride.

Has great potential. Food was good, but took way too long to come out. All sides are extra which make the meal more expensive. Decor is very outdated. Could use a little upgrade. When asked for the check, that took ages as well. Again, place has potential with some minor tweaks.

Polish platter (Polski talerz) Potato pancakes, pierogi, stuffed cabbage, kapusta, and polish sausage

The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was freshly made. You can tell it wasn't frozen or heated up. It was all made from scratch. The service was good too. The servers were kind, respectful, and knowledgeable of the menu. The restaurant was clean and the tables were spread far apart so you weren't sitting on top of the next people.

Well where do i start!!! I think the name KRAKUS reminds me of the movie KRUMPUS and then funeral repast on the outside kinda did it. So i choose to have dinner. Cabbage soup was not bad, loved the potatoe cheese pierogi, the polish was good. And potatoe pancakes taste like flat extra fried tator totts. My dinner was cut very short, i lost my appetite. The young lady/server held a very long conversation with a guest 5 feet from me, and they were talking about medical procedures. I was very disgusted and could no longer eat. I paid 26.00 for food i could no longer enjoy. Be careful when ordering because i assumed that when they ask what kind soup it came with my dinner order...i was wrong i paid for this mistake. And i asked to taste sourkraute, which was explained to me comes with order, but is extra fee. Anyway! Im dissapointed and my tummy still bothered from being grossed out in middle of my meal.

Food was good, but service was incredibly slow. Also, it was a bit expensive for what we got. The decor leaves a lot to be desired

The menu requires some knowledge of Polish food with some offerings being familiar while others may require some exploration. We were two couples dining on a weekday evening. Two people had plum stuffed pork which was very good, one had the pork loin and broccoli which was also good. I had the schnitzel which was not to be confused with German or Austrian schnitzel. It was two small loaves of a mix of beef and pork which resembled more of a meatloaf. It was a bit bland but satisfactory. It came with mashed potatoes. Several sides of Polish sauerkraut, beet salad, and what appeared to be a fermented carrot salad were included. We shared an appetizer platter of pirogies, kielbasa, and something I couldn't identify, but it was all very tasty. This is not BYOB because they have a full bar. The ambiance has a Bavarian flavor and is squeaky clean and neat. The food is hearty and flavorful im what I would describe as peasant style. The service is excellent as they seem to want you to have a good experience. Reservations are required on weekends.

It was my time to expose my friend group to Polish cuisine, and boy is this the place to do it! We were immediately greeted by the authentic decor, furniture, and outdoor space of a Highlander restaurant in Poland. The furniture is hand carved and there are outfits and decorations straight from the motherland. You feel like you are in your grandmother's home- and in a good way! There is something to look at and admire around every corner. Our waitress was so welcoming and patient while we decided on a variety of orders. She greeted us with a warm smile, gave us plenty of time to select from the menu, and provided top-notch recommendations. The food - don't get me started. This is as good, if not better, than what I eat in Poland. We tried soups (the żurek- sour, but not overwhelming, well presented in a bread bowl, and with delicious boiled egg- and the red barszcz- a tangy beet soup), a "sampler platter" with gołąbki (mini stuffed cabbage with tomato sauce for pouring to your liking), and grilled kielbasa. We also opted for the rye bread, lard, and half sour pickles. Sounds odd, but don't knock it till you try it! It's not what you expect, very rich and filling. For my entrée, I had a thinly sliced breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes on the side and "mizeria" (Polish side salad with cucumbers, dill, and sour cream). It was so fresh and light. I loved it because it reminded me of summers with my grandma. The drinks were colorful, well presented, and strong! Definitely worth their $12+ price. Overall, this spot is a hit. There is plenty of parking on the street or across the street at the library. Everything from the service, ambiance, presentation, to the freshness and taste of the food was top-notch. This is the spot to visit if you want real Polish food. We will be coming back!

On the right as you enter there is a section with all kinds of Polish dairy products, butter, farmer cheese, etc., herring and smoked fish. Continue and you come to a hot food bar, which is attended. So far we have tried the stuffed cabbage and the red cabbage, both very good. La Portena picked up a container of beef tripe soup. A bit salty, but very tender. Continue on, and you will come to a deli counter with many types of kielbasa, kabanosy, hams and all manner of Polish pork products. If you're like me, you'll want to find an English speaker, or you can just gesture. Prices are modest, quality is high. There's a large baked goods section as well. I'm always a little nervous about pastry items in these places, but the rye bread was excellent. The pastries look the part. Along the far wall, you'll find pierogies and the excellent pickles they also sell at the Pastrami Grill. As you wait to pay, you can peruse the selection of herbs, spices, and dried mushrooms. Unfortunately for me, the packaging is all in Polish. Check out is pretty efficient. Overall, I would say the store is friendlier than the Polish places I used to visit in Greenpoint, and it has become my favorite store of its type in the tri-state area. Recommended.

It was full of mostly rice with the smallest particles of meat in a stuffed cabbage I've ever had at any polish deli. If you are interested in a more meaty dish, then stay away.

The 7 Sisters is very similar to the one Pechters used to make when they had an attached retail bakery for the public(which sadly closed for good during the pandemic) Other items were cheesecake(more like ricotta not two sweet & despite appearance it's surprisingly moist with a layer of chocolate icing), crystal sugar coated creme horns, layered apple cake & until the last couple of visits very good of all things Florentine Lace cookies(which originated from Italy or France depending on who you talk to). All items are fresh & last 5-7 days. Workers are always polite & even though all Polish do speak enough English to properly serve their non-Polish speaking customers. The bakery is very small so any specialty items I always order ahead. As far as the parking I would just park in the lot next door but on my last visit this past Xmas Eve there was a sign on the bakery door warning not to do that because you may get ticketed &/or towed. Fortunately, I was able to find a spot on the same block on the street. The lot as usual was less than 1/4 full so the town of Passaic needs to use their brains & realize making it harder for small business to succeed(especially one where the local clientele has changed drastically over the years) is only going to cost the town in the long run. At least during this visit the meters were covered so no worries about getting a parking ticket. I will continue to patronize this establishment as long as I can park within a block or two.
