I too like somebody else that posted a review was less than impressed with Tata's burritos. I wanted this place to do good because it's so close to my house but sadly it is not. The service on 2 occasions was not good, perhaps Im too critical...I used to be one of those people that monitored customer service reps on their calls to provide feedback and evaluation. The food had been subpar to other similar Mexican food establishments in the SE area...I'm not comparing them to my mom and tias which is a different level. Lastly just taken back by the fact that I paid over $7 for a breakfast burrito....damn! read more

Went today to get a smothered breakfast burrito and a drink! Got to the window and he handed me a handheld, no drink! When I stated this isn't what I ordered he said yes it was and shut the window and left! Most disrespectful employee ever. This was a good place. Won't go back now. The whole order was wrong and they don't care! read more

The salsa is pretty darn good. Breakfast Burritos are decent. Service is pretty quick. Workers are nice and respectful. Good location

They need better customer service its very sloppy in my opinion. But very good food!!

I've always had good service and good food at Tata's. They're consistent and I absolutely love the convenience on the drive thru!

Great Mexican food. My fav is steak ranchero, breakfast burrito and smothered Chicharon burrito read more

Pretty much my closest go-to burrito. I'll go here every few weeks. Pretty close to a San Diego style California burrito. I'm all about the "colorado" burrito. Fries belong in a burrito. Are they greasy and soggy? Absolutely! That's kind of the point. It's a very solid burrito, but I have definitely had slightly better. Tortillas are clearly fresh. Breakfast burritos are delicious. Red sauce is excellent. Dine in is meh, I usually just drive thru. Styrofoam cups in case that matters to you. read more

Omgsh if you want to get treated with low customer service skills people then you should try their drive thru. Guy treats you like you are an inconvenience and as you pull to the window is on his phone , makes you wait then takes your payment and hands you the food with a horrible attitude. If you don't like your job find something else to do. Check your customer service skills before you decide to work with services to people. ZERO stars for this place. read more

I had sworn off the place for the past 4 months after repeated AWFUL confrontations with who we all call the Burrito B#@*H. Maybe she's on vacation or the family got wise and took her out of the family business?? You know who you are, you drive a while car with hot pink rims and treat people like garbage that don't tip you. Did you all know that this what it's all about? They expect to be tipped!? Just because you have a place to tip on the bottom of your receipt tape doesn't mean I have to tip you in order to receive salsa.. If McDonald's had it on their receipt tape I wouldn't tip them either, nothing personal...it's called fast food. If your smart Tata family....retire Burrito B#*@H. read more

I agree with some of the other reviews. When I first started going here, I was amazed by the food. The breakfast burritos were incredible. Everything I have gone over the last two years, which has been less & less, there is always hair in my food and the portion sizes are inconsistent . I haven't been back in about 6 months because of always finding hair in my burritos read more

Carne asada fries and nachos! Are the bomb!!! Delicious!!! Curb appeal not great but the food is great!

I wrote a 'One Star' review a year ago because of how HORRIBLE the customer service was. I've asked myself several times since then, "Why do I come back here?" I mainly come back because of the convenience of a drive-thru window. The food is okay, but there is definitely better out there. I come here every Sunday morning to get breakfast burritos. To their credit the one lady working the drive-thru window on Sunday mornings has improved in the customer service department. I think it's due to getting to know me because, like I said, I come here every Sunday morning. I went there a couple days ago and the customer service was THREE TIMES WORSE than what I experienced a year ago that prompted me to write the review then. I had asked for 10 cups of their red sauce and 5 cups of their green sauce because I was ordering for more than just myself. The gentleman working the drive-thru gave me four cups of red sauce and one cup of green sauce. When I saw that he had not given me what I had asked for (keep in mind that I even offered to pay for the sauce) he said, "I put the extra in the bag." I told him that he had not put what I asked for and if I could have more. He said, "You have enough. If you want more you can come inside and make your own cups of sauce." I told him that I come here every week and spend a lot of money at this restaurant. The gentleman then reached where the cups of sauce was, took two handfuls of them and threw the extra sauce at me out the drive-thru window. I can honestly say that this will be my last review of Tata's since that was the last time I will ever go to this place. PATHETIC!!!!!! read more

If you're looking for an authentic So-Cal handheld dry burrito with bomb.com red salsa, you found it. Everything is delicious. Eat here and be happy that your tastebuds have been blessed. read more

The meat here is like cardboard. No flavor. The freaking guacamole was like this paste that I assume came squeezed out of something. A Mexican restaurant serving guacamole like that was a disgrace to all other Mexican restaurants. I've been here several times cause I crave fast Mexican often and I for some reason just go here because of the convenience. The drive thru line is long all the time, I don't know why. Suburbs in the states have the worst food in the world I swear read more

Place was deserted when we got there, if you are dining in it still comes in a to-go container. Restaurant was very hot inside, way hotter than outside. Service was very fast foodish and food tasted that way as well. read more

The food here is not the best but for 5 dollars usually get a lot. Gave it a 1 star review for the following reason went through the drive thru ordered a burrito, at the window was told it was $7 dollars when I know it usually came out to $5 and change looked Oscar in the eye and asked the man did you guys raise your prices he said yeah 3 months ago, Paid asked for a receipt which they do not give to you unless asked . After seeing he had placed smothered on the burrito came back said what happened I asked you if it wasn't 5 dollars you added an extra charge for smothered he refused to accept the fact I was right and denied me the difference instead he said give me back the burrito I returned the burrito gave me back my cash . Never before had a bold face lie about pricing . Not sure if Oscar is the owner but what an entitled snob worst customer service. Will never go back. read more

I grew up on San Diego Mexican. Whenever I eat here, I weep tears of joy. I never go anywhere else for a burrito.

Great food but man the service is absolutely fu*king garbage. Had to wait for flucking ever at the window (over 10 minutes) then they gave me a platter instead of a burrito. okay. I walk in to get a tortilla to wrap it myself and the woman charges me anyway despite acknowledging they made a mistake. Wait another 7 minutes for them to warm it. I am starving. Once I get my tortilla I steal a drink cup and grab a coke. Lol. read more

I agree with all the other amazing reviews.. The breakfast burritos are the bomb! The only thing is... It say they open at 630 and no one is ever there. :( So, not sure what time they open. I've stopped multiple times to bring my office breakfast and they are never open at 630. So, I go some where else. read more

Disappointed that I waited so long to try this place. If you are in the fence....just do it. Update! 7/5/16. I knew it was too good to be true. I've never been inside so I cannot comment on the service. I always do drive thru & get a carne asada burrito & have never been disappointed. I've had a torta there once & the bread was gummy. It's probably not warmed up or grilled at all. Beans had no flavor. Carne asada burrito is solid though. Keep it simple. read more

How in the...... what in the...... HEY YELP!!!! how is this a 4-star rated restaurant? I was searching for something that served Mexican food nearby. Tata's popped up and I thought, cool, lets try it!!!! Wow, what a mistake. I ordered a Colorado Burrito and 3 Rolled Tacos (they're just Taquitos). My wife got some combo plate. The young guy taking our order was really friendly. He was the only nice part about this place and the reason its not a 1-star. Anyway, my taquitos were definitely frozen before they cooked them for me. The were tasteless. They were also mostly soggy, except for the edges which were a nice transition of chewy to so hard I could barely break it off. I just tossed the 2.5 left after I'd taken a bite of the first. So, thankfully, I order a burrito too, right!? Wrong. The burrito was tasteless, the meat was just boiled chunks of beef with no seasoning likely. Terrible food, but wait.... it gets better. My wife got a combo plate that included some rice and beans. After her first bite, she told me that her rice tasted like cigarette ashes. I gave her one of those looks, like.... come on.... be serious, cigarette ashes? That's a little outlandish I thought. So, I grabbed my fork and took a healthy scoop of rice. BOOM the most distinct, profound taste of cigarette smoke/ashes. What..... the...... F... I don't like to give crappy reviews to little places who are trying to make a go of it, but this food was really really bad. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. This is probably one of those places paying a monthly fee to get their negative reviews pushed down. Sigh... read more

I wanted to give this more stars. However the food was total slop! Carnitas were dry and inedible. The only thing worse than the meal was the service. They forgot part of our order and we had to drive back to get it. We asked for a replacement nachos since they would be cold by the time we went back to get the rest of the food. They said they would replace them but have to charge us full price. Bad meal -- all went in the bin. Lousy service. Won't be back here again, read more

So here is an update. I have eaten here a few more times and was almost ready to bump it up a few stars. I have discovered that the breakfast are actually not that bad - get them with no potato though as they put 75% potato to everything else. So why no star bump. . . Last time i went in i tried the tacos - almost burned to a crisp. Plants hanging from the ceiling were leaking nasty water, and they were out of coke and sprite. *sigh* i really want to like this place - they make it REALLY hard. read more

1 Star (sigh) I don't enjoy writing poor reviews especially on small businesses but in this situation it's warranted. This review is totally based on service!I don't live in the area but I had seen their sign a time or two prior to our visit. Burritos sounded like a good idea to both of us. It was about 830 am on a Saturday. The joint was clean and had ample seating. We walked up to the register the young guy at the counter quietly greeted us. We chatted a little about what sounded good and then settled on a couple burritos. I ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon egg potatoes beans yum. Hubby ordered a chicken burrito smothered with a side of chicharrón. DOWN HILL FROM HERE. My burrito was just what I ordered and for the record it had a good flavor. My hubs had a different experience the burrito was not smothered. I went back in and young lady now at the front register barely spoke I told her we ordered a smothered burrito but it came with no green chili first she just starred at me then she finally said we'll bring it back and I'll take it back there and put chili on it. Having worked in restaurants I know that's not really sanitary so I suggested how bout you just give me a side cup the solution worked just fine. Went back to the car he said and there's were no chicharrón, on this burrito. He went back in and came out about 5 min later saying he was told that even though he ordered it (it was on the receipt)he didn't get charged for some reason so they decided not to put it on. So I went back in my 3rd time discussed with the guy at the register he was apologetic and said I had to pay for the side of chicharrón .. and he also offered to just make an all new burrito just the way it was ordered! Wow nice kid quite but professional and knew how to make a bad first impression right. I accepted his offer and paid. The young lady caught wind if the deal he made with me and started scolding him right in front of me saying now we're going to be short a ton of money (over a burrito mind you) I told the young lady he is a nice person and professional. She then blatantly rolled her eyes at me stomping away and calling me crazy! How is wanting your order how you ordered it crazy? And when is it ever ok to insult a customer?? When the restaurant made a mistake mind you? To this place I'll never return! read more

Ok, so you pull up and walk in. Immediately you notice that there is way more space than needed and the decor is what you'd expect of a cheap Mexican restaurant that's a "quick bite to eat" kind of place. Not necessarily off-putting by any means and it smelled nice, which is important. This was my first time here and with all the good reviews it got, I was pretty excited. I'm from SoCal and I can assure you that this is NOT SoCal style Mexican food. Or Mexico style Mexican food. I was excited to see un-usual for Denver items such as the tripas tacos and when I mentioned it to my husband, the sweet gal at the counter said "actually we don't have those. I don't know why they are on the menu but we've never even had them". Uh, first red flag? Ok on to what we had and flavors and such- My husband had the Machaca breakfast burrito. It was delicious! The beef was tender and juicy and the tortilla-oh my! Soft and chewy and just yum. I had the Chilaquiles. They were basically old tortilla chips covered in a red chile sauce that still had tomato chunks in it and a dob of sour cream on top. It came with rice and beans....not home made. At least it didn't taste that way. This traditional Mexican dish should be a little spicy, you should be able to taste the chiles that they made the sauce with, and dried tortillas should be simmered in said sauce with onions, garlic and the like. It should be topped with queso fresco and garnished with cilantro. I didn't get any of that. I've definitely had way better chilaquiles from a food truck in Mexico and San Diego. If I end up going back here, I'll most likely stick to the burritos. The 4 and 5 star reviews for "real SoCal style" mexican food - uh. what? Its not even close folks...not even close. read more

I used to go here a lot in the past. matter of a fact every weekend. Something changed and the Burritos are not as good. I get the chorizo smothered. The first and last part of the flour tortilla, maybe first inch to inch and half had no filling. Then, the green chili that you pay extra for was very small and in the past had plenty. The green Chile is very good, that is why I get it smothered. The amount I paid , it wasn't worth it. Sorry, I try to keep thing in my neighbor hood busy and buy local buy I can not. I would call the manager and just tell them the issues but not holler and scream just FYI but did not get a receipt but I did give a $ 3.00 tip read more

This place needs an emergency saving, the menu is complete hit or miss. The guac is gross and taste like its been flavored by a dumpster. I've tried 3 times and I can not get past this, I won't eat there again the food is gross, burritos, quesadillas, and the fiesta taco....never again. read more
