Taiwanese Spicy Beef - Flaming Spicy
    Chris W.

Tasty P wasn't what it used to be and that's okay, or maybe they had an off night. With heavier reliance on the digital system, the only time the service staff interacted with us was to drop off our food and drop off the bill. No water refills, no broth refills, no "hi how ya doing", etc. Prices have remained stable though for years which was a pleasant sight to see with regular bowls being around $20 and the largest being around $23. The service gave me more of a Chinese restaurant vibe over a Tasty Pot experience but it is what it is. Maybe it is holiday fatigue setting in. Overall, still a solid place with good food and does the job to get me filled with a spicy kick.

Came here without a reservation and waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. You order by scanning a QR code. My friend got the curry soup and I got the beef soup--both were delicious, with ingredients like thin beef slices, vermicelli noodles, taro, and more. The lighting was bright, the noise level was moderate, and the decor was minimal.

A lot of reviews had an issue with servers being rude here but we didn't experience it. You'd order through a QR code so there wasn't much of an interaction but they didn't refill our water timely though. Taiwanese supreme pot - My fiancé loved this. He thought there was a good portion of a variety of meat and veggies and spoke highly of the broth's flavor. Seafood lobster pot - I got the mild original flavor and thought the broth was kind of bland. Lobster was fine but there were more veggies than seafood in here. 1 lobster, 2 shrimps, 1 tiny octopus, 1 ring squid, and 1 lobster ball. A-cha Thai milk tea - VERY watered down and lacked creaminess. A-cha mango green tea - VERY syrupy; no real fruit. Not to mention we almost got diabetes because it was insanely sweet.

Stopped by here on a Tuesday late afternoon for a party of 2 and didn't have any wait! I've been going to this Tasty Pot for many years and the pots/ experience never disappoints. We ordered the Kimchi Dumpling Soup and the Beef Hot Soup. I like that we can choose how spicy we want each pot to be and we also have the option of a carb with each soup (steamed rice or vermicelli). Both of the soups had so much flavor and the pots were a generous size and packed with ingredients. You can also choose some add-ons for your soup; my personal favorite is the roe fish balls! Staff members were attentive and the soups came out fast. Our server also asked if we wanted soup refills (a general soup base) whenever our soups were running low. If the soup gets too hot, you can also turn off the fire underneath the pot by moving the handle of the metal piece over the flame. There are really only 2 or 3 sauce options for the pots, but the soups are flavorful enough. My only suggestion would probably be for this establishment to use less plastic ie. the containers they provide us for the sauces are made of plastic as well as the drinking cups they give us. Besides that, Tasty Pot is pretty clean and is a great lunch/ dinner spot!

I've been going to Tasty Pot for awhile now, and one thing that I value about them is their consistency! At every location, the service, food, and decor are very similar. This one is no different! I always get the Taiwanese spicy pot, and it's always great. It's one of the bigger ones that they offer, and has a nice variety of food items!

Came here with a group of 7 on Sunday and got seated right away. It got packed at lunch time. Street parking is limited so I suggest parking in the structure and walking over. It's free. The hot pot is consistent with other locations. I always get the beef. I got the spiciest level, flaming. It's really not crazy hot if you have a high heat tolerance. You can get a side of rice or vermicelli. They serve it in a paper cup the portion is huge.

Service is not good. Food is yummy though. My Uncle and I came here on a Wednesday for lunch. We shared the Beef with Egg Rice Dish and Sichuan Beef with Vermicelli Noodles Soup. The portions were good to share. It's odd they give you paper bowls to eat your food in. We wanted a second bowl to eat our rice separately but the server was no where to be found so we got the paper bowls ourselves. And we didn't know what to do with the sauce we were given. When asked what it was for, they were unable to communicate with us. We also asked what the ball was on top of the rice. We realized it was butter.

It's usually not too busy when I come here and the service is super quick. You order through a QR code and everything will usually come out within 5-10 minutes. Sometimes I do have issues accessing the menu via QR code to order but I'm guessing it depends where they sit me! I switch between getting the beef hot soup or the cheesy milk hot soup. The meat is tender and soup is flavorful. It's perfect on cold days which we all know is evident here in Daly City. There is a limit on items you can remove from your soup which kind of sucks especially when I don't eat all the toppings included. Wish that was something they could alter. I love their milk tea selections as well. It's not too sweet at all and I always look forward to an iced black tea crema when I'm here.

I've been coming to Tasty Pot in Daly City for about 7 years, and their Beef Hot Soup has always been my go to. The flavor has stayed consistently delicious over the years especially comforting on a cold day. The service is always quick and efficient, making every visit a great experience.

Can't go wrong with Tasty Pot since hot pot always hits! My dad really enjoys Tasty Pot so I gradually came to enjoy it as well. Anything for my hardworking father There's always a lot of food in one of these pots so don't underestimate the portion lol Very filling meal

Wanted a filling meal and decided to come to Tasty Pot. I've been here many times, typically getting Curry Pot or the Sizzling Beef Udon. I decided to try the Cheesy Milk Pot and it did not disappoint. It had two of my favorite items, the fish tofu and quail eggs. The broth was nicely seasoned and the cheese complimented it surprisingly well. Service is pretty good, nothing special but the staff is attentive.

our go to spot whenever we're craving something soup but not quite ramen! i personally would recommend going during lunch because they offer this really good tea with the meal! i want to say it tastes like chrysanthemum tea but it's perfectly sweet and pairs nicely with whatever you choose! this time around, my fiancé and i went on a weekend. it was already quite crowded around 6:20 PM. you order via a QR code but you can also ask for an actual menu (service can be kinda spotty so it may not load on your phone). they're pretty quick with getting your order out so we didn't wait for that long. i really like their thai soup because it's tom yum! it's always the right amount of sourness that i enjoy! i will say that the items in the hot pot order isn't always consistent though - each time i go, i find different items in my hot pot. my fiancé tried the sichuan for the first time and he mentioned it was spicy but not too spicy to the extent you won't be able to handle it! i think it's also great that you can adjust the spice level when ordering as well.

Went here on a chilly Halloween day and this is what my boyfriend and I exactly needed! We got here a few minutes after opening and there were already people inside eating too! As there was not too many people eating here, I assume the place gets really busy later on. Menu is a QR code at your table. I chose the Beef Hot Soup. It was amazing and perfect for this chilly weather! The broth was great, I couldn't stop sipping on it. Meat was cooked nice and tasty. You also get a complimentary tea (green or black tea) with your order, but I must say they were surprisingly a bit too sweetened for my liking but still tasted great! Overall, a great experience. tip: if you want water, ask for it. They don't give you water as you sit down. Maybe if you order it, I'm not sure, since I ordered tea with my meal today. I also saw a few others who were also not served water. However this didn't bother me, if you need water don't be afraid to ask!

Location: located in Daly City and next door to a Seafood City (the Filipino HMart). The strip mall-esque location is unassuming in a residential alcove, but perhaps that's why it's a hidden gem. When: we chose to dine in right as the doors opened at 11:30AM, I believe we arrived right after 11:40AM to a nearly empty restaurant. While the restaurant did fill up after 12PM for the lunch rush - service and offerings were very ample. The Welcome: a blend of glass, black furnishings along with Chinese tea decorations; the restaurant itself, while not vast - one can be seated at a table or at a booth with shared/individual pots, in addition to shared barbecue plate. Service: one of the draws for my friend (multiple visits), and myself as 1st timer; service was not only consistent, frequent, but also friendly. 10 minute increments with up to 9 items delivered by a robot and then placed onto our table by hand, broths and beverages refilled, and waiters checking on tables if anything is needed; showed a deep level of attentiveness and caring-ness. The food: while a table cannot do both barbecue and hot pot at the same time - hot pot can be enjoyed from a shared pot, a non-shared individual pot and something I have never seen (non-shared individual split half and half pots). My party & I: - non-shared individual split half and half: tomato/sukiyaki , I don't remember the other two pots, but that we each enjoyed our pots. - Just to name a few: Wagyu, pork belly, lobster balls, seafood platter, lamb, multiple cuts of beef, chicken wings, beef tripe & tendon, enoki mushrooms, fried bao with condensed milk, grilled sticky rice with brown sugar, etc. I cannot name all of what was ordered, but know that we left extremely full. Final Thoughts: $30.99 pre-tax for 1 (weekend pricing) is a steal for all you can eat in the Bay Area, and is an amazing deal for quality food and excellent service.

Pros: the Tom yum and tomato broth were both delicious and full of flavor, especially when it reduced. Someone in my group said their fries were some of the best they've had. They were crispy yet soft, hot, and moist in the center. The Chinese fried donut was also a big hit. The sauce bar selection is large and well stocked. There is also a self serve veggies, tofu, and noodle section. Cons: the quality of the beef belly and wagyu were both severely lacking. Every order comes with 2 pieces, so we had to place over 10 orders to have a reasonable amount for one round of meat. The lamb and pork belly were both a lot better.

They had a variety of meat choices and yes prime beef ribeye! You can either grill it or drop it on your soup. You can also create your condiments to dip your grilled meats. The rib eye, beef belly, pork belly were my favorites. You can tell the meats were of high quality and were fresh. You only need to grill the rib eye medium rare and wow it's amazingly delicious!!! Also they have a wide variety of appetizer, vegetable, seafood, tofu, I can go on! The Kalbi ribs as one of the appetizer was one of the best Kalbi I ever had. The marinate was sooo yummy and the meat was tender! The service was also amazing! They checked on us constantly and our orders came so quickly, it was unbelievable. Yes we were stuffed and happy! The green tea ice cream at the end cleansed our palette and it was a great dessert to end the meal. Afterwards we walked a few steps and the view of the beach was mesmerizing! The food came out quickly for us to cook. I really enjoyed the New Zealand Lamb and all the vegetables. I wasn't a big fan of the sauces that we were able to customize at the sauce station since they were just normal Asian sauces. Overall a great place to come for AYCE. But instead, they now have the hot food buffet during the dinner. The fruits, desserts, and seaweed salad are now moved to the buffet section too. So the food on the conveyor belts are just the hotpot toppings. I just want to say... the chicken wings and the sweet and sour pork are really good. I know I come here for hotpot. I should be loading up sliced meat and veggie - my healthy cheat meal. But as a chicken wings addict, I got distracted. Their fried chicken wings are similar to the San Tung's chicken wings but they are the non-spicy version. I got two pieces to try. Oh man, I know I was in trouble after taking the first bite. The wings were perfectly crispy and juicy inside. The sauce was pretty good. And then I tried their sweet and sour pork. The meat was juicy and tender. Even though they were under the heat lamp, I still got a bit of crunch from the coating and their sweet and sour sauce was just perfect. I know the hot food buffet supposedly are distractions so that we would eat less meat. I should have ignored them. But dang, they put out pretty decent Chinese food over there. I end up ate a dozen of their wings and a plate of sweet and sour pork ... I broke the Asian's rule of making my money worth at AYCE hotpot T^T But they were so tasty that I truly enjoyed them throughout the night. Service was a bit lacking tonight. FOOD: 7/10 SERVICE: 9/10 AMBIANCE: 8/10 FOOD: 7/10 The conveyor belt setup had ingredients ranging from fresh vegetables and seafood to meats constantly passing by, so you can grab what you want. The broth options were solid (we ordered tomato-based soup), and the meat portions are generous when you order from the server. There's also a sauce bar where you can mix your own flavors, which is super helpful for customizing each bite. What shocked me the most was the extensive amount of hot bar food as well. The walnut shrimp was our favorite. For dessert, there is a soft-serve station or a fridge full of different flavored jello, such as taro or red bean. SERVICE: 9/10 The staff was friendly and attentive. They checked in frequently to refill broth, bring more meat, or make sure you were good. Even though a lot is going on with the conveyor belt, they manage to keep things smooth and helpful. AMBIANCE: 8/10 The vibe is casual and a place made for gathering. Booth seating feels cozy, and the conveyor belt system works great. Extra notes: Located inside a plaza, there are normally parking spots.
