Tasty is right--we enjoyed the supreme pizza except for our tastes we should have had them hold the green olives.

Always a great view when you sit outside at Howie's. The facility is still in great shape, clean…read moreand relaxing. It is still very confusing where to go when you enter from the street. There isn't adequate signage to tell you where to go. Do I go into the bar? Downstairs? Or back outside and around back. This makes things a bit unwelcoming. However, the bar staff acted excited to see us to directed us to self seat. Our waitress was nice. She was friendly and hustled. She didn't know her menu very well and was confused at several of the menu items. She was engaging and did her best to make us feel comfortable. We started with the Ricotta Bites. The breading was very crisp and over fried. It was almost impossible to cut the small ball in half. The filling was very creamy and had a mild ricotta taste. Not much flavor beyond that. The marinara sauce really had to provide any spicy flavor. My wife really liked her flatbread. I had the Cod Bites and tots. The cod bites were also over fried and difficult to cut. The cod was fresh and tasty. It flaked apart once you broke through the crust. The tarter sauce wasn't very distinctive. It was mayo based with relish and some mild spices. The tarter sauce was just kind of there...it didn't do much for the fish. The tots were also over fried, very crispy and oily tasting. I ordered a side of Cole slaw because I love salads. The Cole slaw is mayo based. While the slaw was fresh and crispy. The mayo dominated the taste. The pepper was a good accent but couldn't do anything with the over powering mayo taste. I personally wouldn't recommend it. The Smoke on the Water cocktail was outstanding! The drink had a very strong Smokey taste. The tall pink drink is very attractive...especially with two raspberries on a stick. The beverage was refreshing and a bit spicy to taste. Overall..a very innovative drink!!

Atmosphere is very casual. Unfortunately, there was a table of 5 who were EXTREMELY loud and their voices rang throughout the whole dining area. Why some people can be so inconsiderate of others is baffling! We had a window table overlooking the lake, and fountain, and that was very nice. Food was surprisingly delicious! Two of us had the blackened shrimp tacos, which were very tasty! Highly recommend! One had the pork tenderloin which he thought was one of the best he'd ever had. Hubby had the only slightly disappointing entree, the Cuban sandwich, which was very sparsely put together. Had one thin slice of ham. Could not find the bacon jam that was supposed to be on it. House made chips, both potato and tortilla, were excellent accompaniments/sides to each entree. We'll definitely make the drive again for another visit. Sorry we failed to take pics. Next time!

Our neighbor is cat-sitting for us and suggested Salvatori's as a good place for Italian, and she was so right! It's not a big space and you may have a short wait for a table, but so worth it. The ambiance is casual and family-oriented, not too noisy even when full, and (best of all) there's No TVs. Heavenly! I had the pasta Apuli (minus the red pepper flakes), she had the Spaghetti Olio and we split a bruchetta and a cannoli for a to-go dessert. The portions are so large, we needed to-go boxes for both dinners even though we ordered the half sizes! Generous doesn't begin to describe this place. Our server was warm and attentive without 'hovering' and the host stopped by to ensure all's well. We're coming back through town on Monday and I think we'll be back again!

We were asked to wait 15 minutes near the restrooms, only to be completely forgotten about while a walk-in couple was seated at the next open table. To make matters worse, when the host finally noticed us, he offered no apology for the mix-up, simply stating he forgot about us and we'd have to wait for the next round of clean tables. Disappointing lack of customer service.

Coterie Pizza (hwy 327, Garrett, Indiana) - for delicious stone fired pizza and relaxed/casual…read moredining We made a return trip to Coterie after a 3 year absence. Coterie is easy to find. Head north on 327...about 15 minutes north of Dupont Road. They are located in a strip mall, just as you get into town, on the west side of the road. There is plenty of easy-access parking. The restaurant is smaller as it holds about 50 people. It can be busy. There are ample tables for 4 people and some for parties of 8-10 people. The menu is fairly small with only 8 specialty pizzas. Only two items on the appetizer menu - the beer cheese is a MUST try. The pizzas seem pretty reasonable priced for a 12 inch stone fired pizza - $13.45. Coterie has self serve beverage service. You can choose from one of five local beers - and pay by the ounce. Or you can fill up your cup at the soda/tea center. The team here is very friendly and helpful. They all work hard to make sure you have a good customer experience - which we did! Plenty of kitchen help to keep the food rolling..especially at peak diner time! Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Caprese salad: smaller dish for $5.99. All cherry tomatoes and basil were very fresh and cool to taste. The mozzarella cheese and toppings blended well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar flavors. Easy to share. -Beer Cheese ($6.99): a layer of pizza dough rolled out thin and baked to a slightly chewy texture. The dough has a slight garlicky flavor and cut into nice sized shareable pieces. The beer cheese is smooth, creamy and dreamy! You get hints of beer amongst the mild cheese flavors. The sauce is a bit thin and simply addicting! -Chicken bruschetta pizza: The golden brown crust is a little tough as it is well baked but still chewable. No special flavors are added to the crust. The bottom was soft and white. The chicken bruschetta is not your typical pizza creation. The tomato sauce was rather thin and only added a mild tomato taste zip. The chicken was tender and picked up the flavors that surrounded it nicely. The cherry tomatoes and basil toppings were very fresh and tasty. They blended really well with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar drizzles. The fresh mozzarella cheese was sprinkled in enough to help hold all the toppings in place. If you liked the Coterie Caprese salad...you would really like the chicken bruschetta pizza!

It may cause you to have leftovers of your pizza. 5/5 stars. Chicken Bruschetta Pizza - $13.35 - I thought the balsamic vinegar would be overpowering, but it was not. Good balance and good amount of toppings. 5/5 stars. Mushroom Medley - $13.35 - Love this pizza, but I'm also partial to mushroom pizzas. 5/5 stars. Cheese - $11.25 - This one is just fine. Not a whole lot of cheese pull and it's boring to me, but hey, people seem to like that. 4/5 stars. They get their cheesecakes from Pixie Pies: Neapolitan Cheesecake - $7 - Very good cheesecake. Similar to an In-and-Out Neapolitan milkshake. 5/5 stars. My only complaint about this place is that sometimes the dough has a nice fluffy crust and sometimes it's flat. I do prefer the fluffy crust. Not sure why that consistency is overlooked. Highly recommend this place.
