This is our favorite donut shop in the area! It's just as good as the big names, but the size is much bigger and the fillings are always soft, full, and fluffy. They have a wide selection of regular donuts, cake donuts, and specialty donuts. If you have a birthday, graduation, or just because event coming up, you can also order an XL donut! The staff is friendly and is a local spot for some folks to hang out in the morning for chats and coffee. They have other drinks such as milk in their machines. We never have to wait long even with a line! Don't forget to check it out on Saturday if you have a weekend craving because they are closed on Sundays! read more

We got 4 donuts and paid about $10. These donuts were all fairly large, including the simplest raised glazed donut. They are easily the size of at least three of a Krispy Kreme in our estimation. We haven't had Krispy Kreme in years but they are regulation sized donuts to us for reference. Interestingly enough, they slice the donuts in half to add the filling. We had a Boston cream and there was cream in every bite. What a great idea. It can be a bit messier but we'd argue it is because there is a proper amount of filling that covers the entire surface area. It is a crapshoot when it is piped in. We got there about 9am on a weekday and it appeared that a lot of selections were no longer available but we really don't know. We haven't been here before and we are by no means people who eat donuts with any frequency. It had been years since we had been in a donut shop. There is a small lobby where people congregate to catch up if you'd like to eat in. We hung out for a little bit to share some of our donut score. One donut was more than enough per person since the donuts are so large. The person who boxed our donuts was courteous and helpful. It was a solid visit all around except for the ensuing sugar coma but that was a "me" problem. When we want a donut again, we'd stop here without hesitation. The donuts were extremely well made and we were just seeking the standards, not anything with Froot Loops or the like on it. And for some reason, they don't get stale within the same day. We ate some of the leftovers that night and the donuts were still fresh. Not sure why that isn't the case with other donuts we've had in Colorado, namely Dunkin' Donuts. read more

Not as good as they used to be, we have been coming here for many -many years. It used to be more quality and cheaper too. The other owner was a bit better. This owner is nice. But there is a lot of quality and consistency issues with this new owner. Pricing is ok for the gross donuts. Each donut I guess it's like that most places are, $1.49, or $1.99. But they don't do a deal for dozen of donuts. I think at times they have used these donuts for 2 days because it's not as crunchy and super oily. Today I got a lot of donuts for a family member. And they were not good. Something was odd and gross about them. . I don't think I'll ever be back. Not a lot of donut places, but maybe head to kings Soopers or the donut place in Brighton that one is pretty good. read more

I visited here recently and thought I'd update my review since my last one was from 2014. These handmade donuts are still delicious, my favorite is the blueberry donut (still). The decor could use some upgrading, but if I am craving great donuts this is my go-to spot. A tip is to arrive before 7AM to ensure you get the donut choice you want. The owner told me she can sometimes sell out before 9AM! As of March 2018, a dozen donuts was $8.25, a single donut is 80 cents, and a specialty donut or roll is $1.50. read more

WOW!!! My husband is a donut freak, so when he was doing research on our new city he came across Tasty Donuts and forced me to visit with him yesterday morning. I hate donuts because I love them. They're the highest calorie food per bite but fork me if they're not delicious. I'll usually take a nibble but this was the first time where I went all in, could not stop eating the donuts we picked, because they were so fluffy, fresh, and just unbelievable. Waistband be damned I went full Cookie Monster on this donut haul. The woman at the counter, who was amazingly friendly and polite, explained to us that she makes a certain amount of donuts a day and stays at her shop until they're gone. Some days that can be 10:00 AM and some days it can be 3:00 PM, so make sure if you REALLY want to try, which you absolutely should, that you get there on the earlier side. I have only found one other shop in my life with donuts this good, and it sure wasn't down the street from me. Make the trek! You won't regret it. read more

I have traveled the country for years and always make a point to try the local donut selection. This is it. This is the only donut shop I need for the rest of my donut eating days. This woman has magic in her fingers. Her blueberry cake and her orange iced cake donuts are beyond amazing. The apple fritters...omg...the apple fritters, just get a few. The classic glazed is soft yet dense, fluffy while substantial. On top of all that, the owner is always friendly, always smiling and genuinely happy to share her supernatural baking abilities with you. I was alerted to Tasty Donuts on a local Facebook page for our city. The main selling points were the small town atmosphere, good prices, and cake donuts. I love me some cake donuts. So I hopped in the car and drove myself down there. Not surprisingly, it's in a pretty run down, old part of town. Most of the businesses look abandoned, but aren't! There's a wonderful dentist the next street over, too. I walked in and it was so cute. A little cluttered, but very old school. Who do I see behind the counter? An adorable lady who was so happy to see me and welcome me to her business. She was a little low on goodies as she had been cleaned out earlier, but still have about a dozen goodies. I saw plain cake donuts and I wanted them, but I like frosting. She sensed this and offered to frost them. To which I was completely grateful! I walked out with some donuts and a couple sodas for later. It was nice to see somewhere that time hasn't changed in all the best ways. I will be back...often! read more

Well, I am pretty sure ownership changed in this place and the donuts are now, sad to say...not good. Gone are the light, airy pillows that were the raised donuts. The cake donuts that were rich, moist and not overly sweet are now thick, and taste like they have loads of sour cream in them. YUCK This place has not changed for the better. I wish the old owner would come back!!! She was the sweetest. Really really disappointed that you have RUINED this place. I'll go the extra drive to get my donuts from City Donuts from now on because this place is no better than King Soopers now. Sad. read more
