I have been coming to OMG Donuts for years. And to be honest, sometimes I don't even eat the donuts that I purchase because I gift a box of donuts to potential partners. OMG Donuts never disappoints! The last few times I've tried to stop in, OMG donuts has been sold out. Not a bad problem for the business but a sad problem for me. Well, a few weeks ago, I finally got to try it! It gives an old school donut shop vibe. Nothing fancy but good donuts. They gave us a donut hole to try and my toddler was hooked. He wanted more. Meh. I drove out expecting a real winner and honestly was only mediocre. I got the pinecone and apple fritter and both seemed pretty dried out and possibly overcooked. I did arrive towards the end of the day but even then, in my experience, good donuts can be great fresh but still should be an edible a few hours later. I took maybe two bites of each and decided it wasn't even worth the effort. 2 stars for even having both the pinecone and apple fritter and the price was very good. Was in town from Indiana. Reviews said this place was a hole in the wall, but it was not what I expected at all. I was the only car in the parking lot which was not a bad thing because I knew it would take me a second to figure out what to get for the family. I was greeted very kindly. I said good morning, let him know I was from out of town and that he may have to be patient with me. As soon as I said this his demeanor changed and he immediately became obviously annoyed. Throughout the ordering process there were a couple times he rolled his eyes, looked away while he was talking to me and I could tell I was just too slow for him. Let's just start off with the fact that these are excellent donuts, given to you by an excellent human being, and it's in a place that screams classic old school donut shop. Now, bear with me if I get a little Meta on it... to me this donut shop is an embodiment of all the best things about waking up every day in this country. This donut shop... It's been lived in. Time has been put in here. Memories made. I have no idea how long this family or these people have worked here but I'm gonna assume it's been a pretty long time. I bet you this dude wakes up every day that this donut shop is open post office style. Rain snow sleet whatever nothing's gonna stop this dude from waking up and making donuts for you to come down to make your day or your kids day or anybody else's day. It's like a perfect look into what it's like to wake up every day to work hard, kick some butts and make some smiles. I genuinely uncontrollably smile after I leave the shop not only because I got donuts and I'm gonna gain a couple of lbs but also because of the way that these guys made me smile. Solid spot. Sometimes it's good to remember that we're on a rock hurtling through space spinning around a huge fireball and that we're all just gonna share the same space for a minute or two and that's tubular to the extent of tubularity. Believe the hype- these donuts are fantastic. I don't get donuts often but when we walked into the shop yesterday, I was brought back to the sense of my childhood just that sweet sugary donut smell. I had a doughnut twist and it was so good like light and fluffy and amazing , my son had a chocolate sprinkle doughnut and we brought my husband a red velvet doughnut. I cannot say enough about this place. I love it personally because of their donut holes but the characters and beautiful work that they do with all their donuts is so much fun for the kids. Wow I was so pleasantly surprised by my visit!! I had an early morning meeting and planned to bring donuts to share. I always pass by this place but haven't stopped in myself. But I'm so glad I did! The inside seemed like the business has been there for a while. The man who helped me was so friendly and chipper! (Especially t 6:30 in the morning!). He was so nice. The donuts here were delicious! It is more of a classic, glazed variety then say a Voodoo but we loved it! The dough for each kind of donut had a unique, delicious flavor. My favorite was the old fashioned glazed. I also really enjoyed the blueberry. They also fill donuts as you buy them with 4 different selections of fillings. When I arrived at the shop there only appeared to be one worker who was working on a large order for the lady in front of me. He was kind and helpful and although I wouldn't describe the service as super fast it was not painstakingly slow either. The shop itself is right out of a movie. Stopped by before we headed off on a little roadtrip, and I'm very thankful we did because these donuts are delicious. Though I'm normally a bigger fan of cake donuts, I tried the raised glaze donut, the twisted donut, and donut holes, and all of them were fantastic. They are flaky on the outside but pillowy on the inside, and like how much more could you ask for in a donut? Coffee was just mediocre, but you know how drinks at donut shops be. I owe OMG an apology. I thought I'd been there before. I must have gone to another donut place nearby. That place was not great. So when people raved about OMG I thought they were nuts. Fast forward to this week. We gave some friends furniture that we are taking in our upcoming move. When we delivered the furniture to their home, they thanked us with a box of OMG Donuts. Oh. Em. Gee. I am not 100% sure that I did NOT go to OMG Donuts before. The half-dozen treats our friends gave us were DELICIOUS. There was a "cronut" that didn't have the flaky cronut texture I've had elsewhere. But it did have it's own pleasant texture as well as nutella and fresh strawberries in it. By far it was the best thing in the box, and I loved it. There were a couple of traditional donuts in our box that were just fine. Finally, a raised glazed donut without a hole was cut in half and filled with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Are you kidding me?! So good. Photos? There are no photos. We love the donuts from OMG. So much so that we ordered several dozen as the dessert for our wedding reception back in October of 2021. We had them displayed on a donut wall and they were a hit with all of our guests. OMG was so easy to work with and had everything ready for pick up on the day of. OMG was also kind enough to provide extra boxes for us so we could send the leftover treats home with our guests. We live a couple of miles and continue to pop into OMG to treat ourselves to their donuts. My personal fave is their cronut.
