Went on a Saturday and was good timing because they serve lechon by the pound on the weekends. Pretty good lechon. It was $23 per pound. Already preportioned in a to go box waiting under the heat lamp. Skin was thin and crispy. The meat was yummy and well seasoned. Also tried their Pancit Bam I, which is first time for me. I'd compare it to my aunt's home cooked Pancit. It had a mix of sotanghon (glass noodles) and miki (egg noodles). They did not skimp on ingredients. It has lots of fried pork chunks, slices of fish balls and some Chinese sausage slices. This is a non dry Pancit as every noodle was coated with dark reddish brown sauce that's both sweet and salty. A bit to oily for me but it was pretty good. Reasonable price for the portion they give you They also have chicharons in paper bags that are one of the better chicharons I've had. Not too fatty because it had a good proportion of fat, meat and skin. Also not too salty. They have little chicken empanadas they call empanadas. Yummy filling in a crispy fried dough. I like how the dough is not too thick. I would skip the Lomi. It's the only one that was just ok. It was about bland. Generous portion though. Price is reasonable for the amount of food. The restaurant is to go only but they offer their dining room for private events. Small place with huge menu. They also cater.

We are lucky enough to have a baby shower and the one thing I asked for was Filipino food! My cousin had used tastebud's for her son's first birthday so I knew the food was going to be amazing! Michelle, the contact/point person was so wonderful to work with. Easy to communicate with, professional and very responsive via email, text and phone. We chose partial catering and the "barkada" package with an additional purchase of a large cebu lechon! It not only included the most amazing delicious Filipino foods such as sisig, kaldereta, lumpia but also wonderful settup, beautiful white linens and colored accents to perfect match our baby shower theme and easy breakdown! Don't hesitate to use them for your next event!

No public restrooms. Takeout orders only... large catering business. If you want lechon, you will need to order ahead of time. No desserts. We ordered a la carte to go... so the portions are much larger than a plate. The Garlic Rice ($10.95) was really flavorful and did not need anything to enhance it. The Kare Kare ($30.95) is really lacking in flavor.  There is a peanut aroma, but not the flavor.   Note there are plenty of veggies (cut green beans, eggplant and shanghai bok choy) along with some honey comb tripe and of course oxtail.  There is a side of Bagoong monamon (fish paste) to help add a bit of seasoning to the kare kare.  It does enhance the flavor.  Please do not waste the kara kare sauce, it will go really well with the garlic rice. Pork Adobo ($17.95) very flavorful.  You get A LOT of pork with very little sauce, so that's pretty good, unless you love Adobo sauce.  The pork is tender and pretty lean as Adobo goes.  Note there are bay leaves in the dish, so please be careful and dig them out before eating.  The aroma is quite intoxicating.

Malnourished Lechon!!!! We paid over $300 for this small Lechon. Terrible!

We paid over$300 for this malnourished lechon. The skin wasn't crispy. It was gummy. The meat itself was super dry! It was terrible! How can they sell this?

I bought a whole lechon (small) worth $350. Unfortunately its not a whole lechon. The belly part is gone. If this is worth that much they should be honest enough to give us a whole lechon.

I'm sad that i only have one little picture, which doesn't even show everything we ordered. I ordered catering trays for my baby shower, and the food was all delicious. Also, i paid extra to have everything delivered, and the person that delivered was so nice and told me how to handle the food. We had: Pancit Miki Bihon Lumpia Shanghai Rice Lechon Kawali Bbq Chicken Bbq pork Bangus Sisig Fish Fillet Escabeche Chopsuey (seafood only) Everyone commented on how good the food was. Special shout out to: the pancit miki bihon, bangus sisis, bbq pork, but everything was really good. We had plenty of leftovers, and mostly everyone took something home for a second meal. Thank you, Tastebuds!

Ordered 2lbs of lechon. It was 2lbs because they put the sauce in the box. Remove the sauce out of the box it only weighed 1lb. What a ripoff shady business buyer beware!!!

I got the potato salad and the zhajiangmian, and my boyfriend got the Lanzhou beef noodles and pork burger. I wish they put the components of the dish in the menu online so you could opt out, because both my zhajiangmian and potato salad came with bean sprouts (which I hate!!). I just picked through all of them and ate the remaining dish afterwards- the potato salad was yummy and the zhajiangmian was savory and came with lots of minced pork! My boyfriend enjoyed his Lanzhou beef noodles a lot, the beef was tender and the broth was incredibly flavorful and delicious. He liked the pork burger a lot as well, they did not skimp on the meat and the bun was fluffy! I would highly recommend this dish to anyone, it's a classic that is done well! This is a great addition to the downtown Millbrae array of authentic Chinese restaurants, I will be coming back!

This place had a line so I thought was worth the try... The lamb skewer-fat, chewy, and the flavor is just on the surface of the meat. I ate what I can and spit out the tough part. I think if the meat was cut into smaller pieces and grill a little longer would be more enjoyable. The chef has room to improve... this place did not meet my expectation.

I don't eat porridge often, usually when really under the weather so I'm fortunate to not gone to get some in a while. I called my pickup order since I didn't see an online option. The store front is Ichi Ramen so it's confusing in case you get lost in the busy plaza. I ordered shrimp, fish and plain porridge (congee) along with beef chow fun. 4 dishes total. Total came out to under $60 and it was a heavy bag! The porridge has a nice thick consistency without being runny. It had flavor to not need seasoning and surprisingly large portions of seafood. The chow fun was decent but I've definitely tasted better. Kinda pricy at $18 though the beef slices were big. I appreciated it wasn't as oily as other chow fun I've had so easy to eat without feeling kinda gross after. Solid value, good food, and worth a rec for porridge. All in all, I'd definitely return. 4.5 stars.

For some proteins, it is advisable to get an extra bowl to remove the protein as it will overcook in the crazy hot congee. The sliced beef congee comes out perfect so they must either add it to the hot congee rare or even raw so it ends up cooking perfectly. The friend Chinese donut was crispy and airy, slightly oily so fryer oil may have needed to be hotter and fry cook need to slow down and let oil temp recover. Place does get busy quick and may need to wait for a table though.

I know it's not for everyone, and it can be hard to find a place that prepares it really well. But this restaurant did it perfectly. What made it even more special was that my son decided to try it for the first time--and he loved it! That moment meant a lot to me. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place, especially if you appreciate authentic flavors done right.

They do have outdoor seating, not that it would help much when the lunch crowd is huge. Since the store name emphasizes on Hainan chicken, i havent quite explored their other menu items. First time I had the Hainan chicken rice plate, another time I had the noodle version. Funnily I find their rice plate version smaller portioned than the noodle soup, however it's not a true Hainan chicken experience without having oil rice. Both dishes serve Hainan chicken with scallion oil marinade and roasted peanuts. While noodles have oyster mushroom and spinach, rice plate has pickled veggies. Overall it gets the craving settled, its not the greatest though. The noodle soup was an interesting option. It feels a bit like when youre making noodle soup at home and just tossed in random toppings. I had corn, spinach, oyster mushroom. Definitely not a combo I see commonly. The soup was not bad, its drinkable, not salt at all. However its a bit odd to pair it with Hainan chicken, perhaps better with fishcake or meat balls, I did see a meatballs version. They do have other noodle style and broths to choose from, such as hot and sour, laksa. They do offer fish paste noodle if you want a teeny tiny bit more protein. Overall food is okay. It's nothing to rave about, even though I love Hainan chicken.

Customary at most Vietnamese restaurants, you get your food with minimal check ins and not even a plate clearing until the bill comes. This was NOT the case here. There service was definitely in the A/A+ range! I ordered on my phone via QR code, but there was an option to order in person from a server. I ordered many items to try out. I ordered spring rolls, crispy salt and pepper wings, grilled pork banh mi, beef dac beit pho, and a Thai iced tea. Thai Iced Tea was pretty good. Grade: A I thought the Spring Rolls were decent, but what made them even better was the peanut sauce! I always hate when the peanut sauce is watery and this was far from that! An excellent gooey peanut sauce and maybe one of the best I've had fpr consistency. Grade: A- Crispy salt and pepper wings definitely had an incredible crunch. They were up there in crunchiness. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. My only disappointment was that I really love papaya salad and it was not an option. I may make this my go-to spot from now on, but as a Yelper, we all know we will keep trying new places. This will be the one I continue to frequent. Well done Pho de Nguyen!

Upon getting seated, she asked if we wanted a plastic water cup, regular bowl, and plastic utensils for my toddler. I ordered the Pho Tai Gau (rare steak and brisket) with thin pho noodles, split bowl with extra noodles to share with my toddler. The meat is super thin and tender! Although we ordered "extra" noodles, it didn't feel like extra compared to a normal bowl, but my toddler wanted more soup than noodles so it worked out. We also got the imperial rolls appetizer. It was tasty but I felt like it was a bit overdone, because it hurt the roof of my mouth haha, but I do prefer it to be crispy than soggy so I'm not complaining! Just be aware :) Nowadays, my best eating out meals are those in which my toddler enjoyed and allowed her to be on her best behavior. Our server checked up on us multiple times (never had to flag her down) and took great care of us. My toddler even let her pick her up! So thank you for the great service!
