I went with my BFF to pick-up a special order of donuts for the post wedding reception party for the wedding party. All the donuts at Tastease, are mini donuts. So you don't have to feel guilty about eating more than one. The donuts are flavorful and the detail they put into icing their treats is amazing. The owners are delightful. Tasty but expensive tiny donuts. Perfectly poppable, but pricy. Looking for good places to try, this place came up as a good little donut shop. Decided to give this place a go, so we made the trek here. parking is pretty much non-existent. The front of the store has spots but not much else. The front end is a little worn down, but the inside is clean. By the time I came here, they were mostly out of donuts. The lady in the front was a bit weary from the morning rush, so when I came in asking for a dozen donuts, she pretty much just started grabbing donuts to put into the tray. When a dozen donuts comes up to 24 dollars, you do make note of the price. These donuts had to be incredibly tasty to justify a price point similar to a french macaron. They were pretty dang good. Each donut was cakey, soft, sweet, and flavorful. The few that I had were done well, and some even had a little filling in the middle to help punctuate the flavors. If I got here early, and got time to pick a peck, and the price was a little cheaper to get a dozen, then I would be willing to recommend this place hands-down. Given the pricing and my issues, I had to dock a star. Issues aside, these little delectable bites are some of the best around. I believe Tastease changed ownership at some point and I'm less familiar with the new owners. I used to order a pizza box full of their ornate mini donuts to bring to parties or soccer games, or to serve house guests. I assume they still have the flat boxes for larger orders. The mini donuts are tasty, beautiful and usually a big hit, with kids especially. At the current prices, they're not cheap. I think a 1/2 dozen mini donuts cost me $7.50, although my menu pic seems to say $9. Either way, I'd prefer standard size donuts from my usual at these prices. Yesterday, I was in the area and dropped by. The store atmosphere is not a draw. In my experience, things are hit or miss if you don't order ahead. They had a decent selection, but not as many colorfully decorated donuts as I remember. I ordered a 1/2 dozen. I expected them to come in a flat container since the appearance is the primary draw, but they were dropped in a brown paper bag one at a time. In this regard, the service could use some polish. I can agree that parking might pose as an issue for this location. It is on a main road and if you do not find any parking in the front, you'll need to park either up or down the block, if not on a side street and for some, this location might seem a bit underwhelming but for those of us that hold no issues with surroundings, you'll be just fine. This location closes at 2pm and so it is not like you will need to go here at night. The Owner is a cool Man though, we discussed his business and how he started back in 2002 - though with the pandemic, it changed all of his plans on expanding the business and that he had to remove his breakfast options for the people just are not coming in like they used to and its sad to see for we have lost MANY amazing restaurants and various other businesses over the last few years due to the pandemic and folks not really coming out like that anymore to eat, let alone shop. I will say that these donuts are good! Soft and chewy, moist and poppable for that on the go travel (as mini donuts should be) but do not expect full size donuts at all - these are those little bite sized unique treats for easy consumption. He doesn't make a lot with his business closing early each day and so I recommend coming EARLY! I grabbed up a dozen, just to taste the differences and between glazed toppings, cereal toppings, cream toppings, sprinkles and swirls of various flavors, these donuts are missing a nice shot of interior filling. I say that because they are roughly $2 per mini and for that price, I would like to have a mini experience. Mini Surprises are something that I would not mind spending $2 each for. Taking a bite and having a rush of even more flavor that you'll need to guess each and every single time. People wouldn't care as much when it comes to the price point for you are giving them a tasty overall experience which each donut and that's your name, right? Tastease....well since you don't make that many donuts to begin with for the day....let's give the people a fun reason to start coming back and create a new flow of business. Always hearing it was packed on weekends turned us away, but with recent events, we had the ability to go during the week. The owner was incredibly friendly and talkative. On a Friday morning, there was no wait and a full choice of flavors! We tried everything from strawberry cheesecake, cherry, cereal, s'mores, strawberry lemonade, and more! I am so happy I ordered Tastease for my annual Halloween party this year. I'm a huge donut fan and wanted a dessert that showed that! These did not disappoint. Such a cute, local gem! The donuts are beautiful and DELICIOUS, the people there are so nice and welcoming. On my second visit there, the man working there asked if I had been before and I said it had been a while. He let me try a donut, and since they're essentially bite-sized he just gave me a free donut to eat on the spot. I'm a huge fan of cake donuts, and I love that they're mini so you can get a variety. Usually street parking is pretty spacious, there's no designated lot but both times I've been it was very easy to park in front of the church that's right across the street. Tiny shop with a wide variety of creative takes on tiny donuts! You can buy the donuts in sets of 6 or 12, and it takes me about 3 to be full. As far as I could tell the donuts all have a basic base that is either comprised of vanilla, chocolate, or blueberry, but the variety comes in because the donuts have a ton of different fun toppings on each of them. The donuts are solid quality, but the huge fun variety is what makes this place great There is only around 2 seats inside and they face a window pointed outwards towards the street. Please TEASE me some more. WOW, AMAZING! I feel terrible and I'm guilt ridden, I just ate the most beautiful creation ever found in Parkville. The also offer Cuban sandwiches. I might make it my weekly Tuesday lunch stop. The doughnuts are smaller, almost bite size, and though the have an assortment of flavors and choices I felt like the actual taste was sub-par...almost like I was at a glorified Dunkin Donuts. Pros: + 1 because these are legit, old-school style donuts - not the overly sweet yeast donuts that have become so popular. +1 for having so many choices. They're considered "mini", but IMHO they are not too big, and not too small, just the perfect size. + 1 for being cute and Instagram-able (you know that's half the fun!). Each flavor has a different icing/topping pattern and they are just SO friggin' cute. Only con for me is that parking may be an issue.
