I love this Tastea location! Perfect accomodations for COVID-19. If you are uncomfortable going inside stores during the pandemic, but need a boba fix? This is the place for you. They have a very user-friendly app to place your order (my order only took 7 minutes to prepare!) and once you go to the store, they have a window outside for you to pick up your drink without stepping a foot into the store. They encourage social distancing outside and they have a speaker outdoors to call out people's names/orders. This is great if you prefer waiting in your car because you can easily hear your name being called if you crack your window open a bit. This location also happened to be partnering with Bay Area BTS Army for a "Winter Kims" event for BTS's Jin & V's birthdays. A very cute cup sleeve event and everything was completely free with the purchase of any drink! The goodie bags came with the cup sleeve, a sticker, a post card, a photo strip, and a cardboard photo card. I love to see more KPOP cup sleeve events popping up in SoCal. read more

The service was very quick. Touch screen kiosk to order when paying with credit card. It's not the best boba place I've ever had but it's passable and we drank it all. The milk tea for me was lacking sweetness even though we put it to the full sweetness option (they allow you to pick sweetness levels). I went with my family and all of us who ordered the milk teas felt that it wasn't sweet enough. My sisters matcha strawberry was also not sweet enough. The Thai milk tea however was overly sweet. I just love this place!!! I decided to order a jug from them for my party and it was the best decision!!!! It is so easy to order through their app! You choose the drink options under "Jug", choose the sweetness level, topping options, and you can even set the date and time so it is so easy and convenient. I would definitely recommend this place. I also realized that I was ordering the jug the day before so that it will save me time but realized that I shouldn't have ordered boba because it's not good the next day. I didn't find an option to revise my order so when I went to pick it up, I explained to them if it is possible to pick up the boba the next day instead because I made a mistake. They were so nice and accommodated to me and I was so grateful for it. This does NOT taste like all the other tasteas. I've been to the tastea locations on golden west, fountain valley, Buena park, and Long Beach and quality control is excellent at all of those locations. I always order the same thing: classic milk tea less sweet. I ordered my original today and it tasted like milky water that had a tea bag soaked in it for a minute. It was gross. The drink quality here has really gone downhill. I ordered a sunset peach and it tasted horrible, like there is no tea in it, very water down, and way too sweet. So basically you paid $6.25 just for a cup of water with 10 pumps of sugar syrup. Ew...would never come back. Although I live closer to the Tastea in Garden Grove, something about this place keeps me coming back! Parking is in a big plaza with other restaurants and snacks. Whenever I come, the worker Amy is always kindly serving and answering questions. I usually end up getting the same thing, even if I look at everything on the menu. My favorite is the Peach Me Sweetea, and my alternative is the Peach Me Freezy. The toppings are solid, the boba is always soft and chewy and there has never been a problem. The stations are protected by glass and workers do wear masks so they are being safe and cautious! There is no indoor dining so after you take your drink you can just go ahead and leave. This place is definitely not what it used to be.. they used to put a lot of effort into their food and drinks. Not sure if it's because only one person was working making our food and making the drinks as well. Took very long but we were understanding and don't blame her for being the only person there. I blame management for not hiring enough people. But I will say, my drink came out very watery, barely any boba. If I'm paying extra for something I'd enjoy enough of it in my drink. Just as good as the Westminster location in terms of service and quality of food. This location is actually bigger and there are a couple of tables inside and outside as well. We came pretty close to closing, I think the kitchen closes 30-15 mins before actual closing time and we were lucky enough to sneak in our order of popcorn chicken! Our cashier was super friendly and patient with us. It's been a while since we both had tastea and wanted to try new drinks instead of our regular go-to. Jasmine sunrise w/ boba - Was able to get half sweet on this! Overall very refreshing drink. I normally get mango all the way at Tastea, but I think this will be my new go-to drink! Perfect blend of OJ & tea. I thought it was a weird combo at first, but it's actually really good. Giving it five stars because I've had near perfect experiences with them except for this one time I went. In the middle of the day and it was only two people working. I paid for honey boba (as normal) and they didn't even give me any. When I asked for some "more" (wasn't there to begin with) the girl rolled her eyes and said it's at the bottom. Well duh the boba is always at the bottom. But where is it in the drink? She sighed and put some in, just plopped it on top and gave it back to me. Wasn't even a full scoop. Their online order app is not the greatest, hence placing three orders; two of which were the app and the other in store. Getting flavored tea through the app is hard to create because you have to make it a special order. Five stars overall because the drinks never fail to be what we ordered. If we want a peach green tea, then that's what you'll get and you get to adjust the sweetness and so forth. I've been drinking Tastea since '08! Wish they would venture out and open a store in Vegas because that's where I currently reside. I tried the chamango with honey boba (which is super fun, because all their boba is green!!) Unfortunately, the hot honey boba made my mango slush melt faster, and a chamango juice is not as good as a slush. I think that I have not previously tried chamoy and did not expect it to taste like that. I was envisioning some kind of tajin + mango slush. Thus, I am not sure what to think of the drink because I have not tried other mangonadas. Overall, it was not bad, but next time I might opt for the lychee freeze, as more if my friends liked that! I also really enjoy the seasonal watermelon freeze that some tastea locations have! We also tried the popcorn chicken, which has 5 different spice levels. It was not bad, but I felt like the pieces were very small and more crispy/ battery than meaty, which was disappointing. This location gets very busy so I definitely recommend ordering ahead of time. They've installed a take-out window so you don't have to go inside unless you're ordering. I usually add an additional 3-5 minutes to the time for pick-up if it's around a peak hour just because they tend to exceed the wait time estimated on their app. On hot days, you'll have to actually select a pick-up time because they have so many orders. I always get the Ooh La La, no sweetness. If you're into coconut and pineapple, you NEED to try this! There's a lot of sugar in it already so I select "no sweetness" when ordering on the app. It brings it down so you can still enjoy a "sweet" drink without over-doing it. Some locations offer jack fruit bits, which I also recommend with this drink. My parents are huge fans of the Lychee Freeze. Price range is pretty average. For a 20oz slush, it's about $5 + $0.60 each for a variety of add-ons. This is my go-to when I want slushy boba drinks because their juice to ice ratio is spot on so the drinks rarely taste watered down. APP ORDERS: Just a heads-up.. When you order through the app, different store locations will have different add-on options, sweetness levels, and menu items may vary slightly. Some places do not offer food items on the app. Other places may offer STEVIA sweetner while another won't. read more

I come to this location at least once a week. A rainy Saturday afternoon I walk in and was asked if I am paying with Card. I affirmed I was and was directed to a self checkout kiosk I completed my order and wanted to add my rewards and attempted to get an employees attention and was ignored. Another employee comes and let's me know that I need to have a barcode scan on phone to add them in order to checkout but that THEY CAN TAKE MY ORDER. NO APOLOGY. I understand that they want to be efficient yet, they need to provide customer service at all times. I can see that they are overwhelmed maybe management needs to support them. Came in today to order my drinks and no one greeted me, I locked eyes with this blonde guy working but they just looked at me and went on with their day.. I could be over dramatic but the other times I've been to this location, I've been greeted and everyone was so friendly towards me. This time was different.. onto the drinks themselves, I ordered a lychee peachee with crystal boba and there was crystal boba but hardly any lychee bits. And on my tiger milk tea, it's missing crème brûlée. I didnt ask for any substitutions just add ons. This has never happened to me before. Loyal Tastea customer here but clearly the Tastea hype has died. This has to be a joke. There are now two sizes for their karate chicken. Regular is $5.75 and their new large $8.50. I've always been a fan of their chicken despite the fact that approximately 25% of it consists of just fried batter and chicken scrap mixed in. But nonetheless, I still supported and ordered. So this time, I decided to get the large. I mean, who cares?! I'm getting more chicken! Right? Wrong. It's basically the same amount as the regular before. Now I'm curious how little the new regular this. I've attached a photo below. You can see or order to see for yourself. Maybe it's suppose to be more and the kitchen staff just didn't give me the correct portions? I don't know. Friendly service and drinks were really good! I tried the Assam milk tea and really enjoyed the drink. Typically I don't like my drinks too sweet, so I'd get it half sweet and found it to be just perfect! The store itself looks like most of the other Tasteas, chill environment, chill workers, and prepared very quickly. If you're not sure on what to order they sometimes have samples out for you to try in case you're curious on a certain flavor. I know that some of the popular drinks are the matcha drinks, such as Matcha Milk Tea or Matcha Thai Tea and they're both really good! I just wanted to try something a little different that day. Parking wasn't tough to find at all, there was plenty of parking spots open so no need to worry. We went here on a Friday night and it wasn't too crowded in the store and also wasn't crowded in the parking lot so overall it's easy to get to. Another tip is to provide your phone number for the membership perks! Sometimes they have special holiday offers or free drinks based on the number of points you rack up. Even if you don't go here often it's worth to just save the points in case go to another Tastea location. I think the only reason why I didn't make this a 5 stars is due to the fact that I felt like my Honey Boba didn't have the strongest honey flavor. Typically I'd really taste the honey boba from other locations, but for some reason I didn't taste the flavor of the honey. I'm not sure if they might have just given em regular boba by accident? I wanted to like this place. I really did. However, this place is very mediocre when it comes to the two most important factors: quality options and service. As a Vietnamese style tea place, I am forgiven for expecting to be able to get perfect Vietnamese coffee. Their version is TOO WEAK and creamy. They ask if I "needed any adjustments" but, this is just for show. When I asked them to make mine just a tad stronger ( as I am used to moist Vietnamese restaurants making it) she would only add 2 oz for an extra charge. I chose that option and it was a little better but it STILL a bit too weak. - So, what was this "adjustment" I was asked about? - RIDICULOUS! I was served by the assistant supervisor and felt that she could learn a thing or two about customer service. She was bossy and didn't leave me with a warm feeling. I did NOT feel appreciated as a customer and it pushed me to go to the MANY OTHER OPTIONS available in Costa Mesa and will be recommending OTHER places to my friends, clients, and acquaintances from now on. This place is NOT a good value at all. And for several weeks they were completely out of green tea yet, there was no notification on the menu. I have given this place a fair trial by coming back 5 times to give it a fair chance. Review #167 - 2019 After my disappointment that Confetti didn't have my favorite cheesecake custard, I had to find something else to fill the void so I decided to walk over to Tastea & see what they had that might be able to help alleviate some of that disappointment. They have a lot of fruit tea, but nothing stood out for me so I decided to get the avocado avalanche in a 20oz. I thought about getting the 32oz, but I'm so glad I didn't because it was huge! The drink was actually very well made. You can taste the freshness of the avocado & it was blended very well so there was no ice chunks whatsoever!
