My friends and I love this place. Every time we come we wonder why don't more people know about it. It's a unique place in town that specializes in wine and bites to pair with all the various choices. I love the atmosphere as it's fancy enough for wine and cheese but not stuck up or snobbish as one may expect. The service here is always exceptional and the server is very attentive. For the wine I do enjoy a good white wine here, and I usually get a charcuterie board to go with it. One star off only because it's a little bit expensive and also you have to choose between ordering two cheeses and two meats or three and you can't order just one meat and one cheese. Or like single order the cheese and meats. If I drink I'm going to eat but sometimes I just want something small as my snack. Anyways wine is great here. They also do classes occasionally which I would love to attend one one day. read more

Decided to check this spot out with the girls the other day. (Saturday) it wasn't hard to find but parking took a while as there was an event downtown we wasn't aware of. When we entered we were welcomed by a staff and was able to sit anywhere we like. The atmosphere was very nice, there were only a few other people there so it was a quiet night. I did make a reservation thinking it was going to be busy however we were 3 of the 10people there. I enjoyed myself and the wine was good we also order a 3 cheese 3 meat charcuterie board. We had to order extra bread for our bored. Will consider returning, I would sit at the bar as our server took a while to notice we needed something. I did wave and look back at them behind the bar however their back was turned and of course the guy facing me just ignored me ‍ (or can't see). read more

I initially went here for a Yelp Event, but decided to order a flight as well as food. We were seated right away and the waitress was very attentive and she did a good job of educating us on the wine selections and pairings. In addition to the glass of wine and charcuterie from Yelp, I ordered a red wine flight, and a pizza. The pizza came with apples in it, I'm open to trying new things, but I was a bit skeptical of the taste. When it came out, it was appealing to the eye and belly . It was soo good, my friend ordered another one. The flight, woo, took me OUT! I'm not much of a stinker, but I had to sit there for awhile to gain my composure. I'm happy that I wasn't driving. That night they had live music and he did a great job adding to the ambience of the restaurant. From the service I received, the food, and the wine, I would give them an A+. This place has such a nice ambience, comfortable but upscale, with very nice and attentive staff. There is a robust selection of cheeses, and a respectable drink list as well. I really appreciate that they let me choose. Wines: we got 2 total - Broletto lambrusco, like a sour grape juice with the slightest hint of alcohol? Slightest bit of bubble. May be up your alley if you are into juice-like wines or are normally not a big fan of red wines. - White: Brotherhood riesling- sweet but not as sweet as a Moscato di' asti, for when u want a sweet wine but not overpoweringly so, nice overall flavor! Cheese: (Left to right in the picture) we chose to get cheeses with interesting additions: I would try all of them again. I love the presentation and the little additions that came with our cheeses (crackers, jams, bread) - Truffle Brie: with truffle - the initial taste is brie, but the truffle flavor sneaks in there and welcomes itself into the club. - Red Dragon: with mustard seeds. This was my favorite. Very full, rounded, deep flavor. If most cheeses are a snack, this was the entire meal, hands down no question. I hope this is a permanent member of their menu because if I never have this again my life will not be complete. - Coppinger: with vegetable ash? Okay, now that we've clarified the intrinsic value of wine. On to Taste. So what's changed over the last couple of years? Not much except the various food offerings. Of course the ever rotating choices of wines are still happening and live music is now a regular occurrence. Occasionally there's a themed meal/wine pairing event (e.g. Spanish Wine Dinner) and even a karaoke night. But the top notch team and beautiful ambiance remain the same. You can grab a seat outside and watch the Broad Street traffic pass by or let the soft light of inside wash over you as you take one glorious sip after another. I am not a connoisseur of wine, just that it can't have a screw top lid, and by far am not a sommelier. But I always feel comfortable when visiting Taste. The team will walk you through flavor notes, pairings, and prices. They work to ensure you find a wine that you love, not just like. And at the end of the night, you can purchase a bottle (or three) to take home with you. A much needed and already staple in downtown Augusta! read more

Tonight was my second experience. My first visit was for a friend's birthday gathering. We came tonight for the wine tasting and pairing class. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. The owners and staff were super nice and chill. Cool and casual atmosphere this evening along with great conversations. Tonight's event was centered around wind pairings with chicken wings. The German Riesling and Buffalo Wings were by far the best pairing. They complimented each other so well! I never knew a somewhat sweet white wine like a Riesling and Buffalo flavor could go so well together. I was pleasantly surprised as I don't normally care for Riesling or spicy dishes, lol. In addition to the Riesling and Buffaloes, we had bbq and lemon pepper wings along with another white wine and two red wines. Unfortunately, I can not recall the names of all the wines we tasted. Outside of the tasting, we ordered the Brie and Prosciutto Crostini and it was absolutely delicious! This was not my first tasting experience but my first one at this location. Needless to say, I will return! The interior was nice and relaxed. They have a small seating area outside in the front. Their outdoor seating is great for this spring like weather. So let's start with we need more places like this and not less. The ambiance is excellent and romantic but can be casual as well. They often have musicians, artists, wine classes, etc. The wine list is never ending. They have so much to choose from, nationally and internationally. And they offer tasting of red and white so you can test drive the wine you may like. Food: they have shareable small plates tha pair perfectly with the wines and can be a great starter for other full course meals in downtown Augusta. This place is usually our first stop while we wait for a text letting me know our table is available elsewhere. Or you can fill up on all the small plates here for a variety. This evening we had the prosciutto, honey, Brie on a baguette. Great ingredients for a delicious bite. Along with the red wine flight. Two other staff just bs'ed the entire time while drinking wine behind the bar and never spoke to/checked up on us (must be newly 21). Mixed olives were good! I loved the atmosphere from the moment I walked in. I sat at the bar on one of the beautiful emerald green chairs. I ordered the white wine flight, it included Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, and Sauvignon Blanc. I ordered the brie cheese board and smoked salmon. The board included salmon with honey mustard, olives, brie, peach jam, bread and honey. It was a beautiful presentation, but on the skimpy side. The smoked salmon was delicious! I ordered the White Pizza, it has a garlic clove base, pears, arugula, gorgonzola, and topped with a balsamic drizzle. I added prosciutto and a drizzle of honey. The flavors were devine! There was definitely enough to share with one or two people. This is the perfect place to incorporate during a date night, a night out with the girls, or just solo. I spotted a little stage, so there's probably a few nights you can listen to music. Overall it was a nice experience and it's a wonderful addition to downtown Augusta. read more

Taste Wine Room has the ambience, and with a classy vibe yet elegant taste and casual style. Their wine by the glass menu is still a little too small for the name of the establishment. The food menu is decadent but very simple and small. It's a beautiful place, with amazing potential. The wait staff are awesome and pretty, I has the salt and pepper buratta only bc on Yelp there was a picture of a Strawberry Buratta Salad they no longer serve anymore which is very unfortunate bc rhays why I came in there. But I love buratta. I then accompanied my buratta with a red wine flight. In the picture from top to bottom it goes, Pinot Noir from California, Malbeslc from Argentina and a Sonoma County Cab which was my favorite. I absolutely highly enjoyed the music they were playing, it sounded just like Mt pandora Playlist saved songs collection so that was a huge plus. Alright so I went on a Wednesday which has 25% off bottles of wine. I choose a Reisling which wasn't bad. It's on the sweet side. I got the pizza it was warm when it came out and not even a min later stone cold. So the food for me was a complete miss. I ended paying $25 for the pizza which was more than the bottle of wine . This is the cutest place and definitely needed in Augusta. I popped in on a Friday around 3. The staff was warm and very welcoming. I lived 4 years in Italy, so I'm bit of a wine snob, this place didn't disappoint. They have a great wine selection. They even have cheeses, meats and a couple pizza options. Visited Taste for the first time for a Pinot Noir tasting and was quite impressed. They had two California and two French Pinots, and we also ordered this Rioja from the menu. I went for the flight options where you try three different wines and also made a charcuterie board. All the ingredients were fresh, and they even have pizza options! The charcuterie is a la carte in the sense that you order your meats and cheeses individually. Whatever you decide to get with come with crackers, jams, and olives. I got the white wine flight which included Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Gruner Vetliner.(portions are larger than pictured! I sipped first ) The server was very clear and distinctive in which wine was which, and for a detailed description I was redirected to the menu for explanation of each! I was so excited about trying Taste because my love of wine. I never leave reviews, even when I have had bad experiences at restaurants. This place is an exception. I was completely appalled by the behavior of the owners on my first, and last, visit. Unfriendly is an understatement. Especially for a new place of business. Owners/managers were stand offish and rude. I was put off within the first 10 minutes of being there. The wine tasting was sub par for the price. Then to top off the evening- a large roach fell on a member of our party. The roach falling on her-although absolutely disgusting-was not the largest issue. The owner acted completely irritated by the girl standing up to get the roach off her causing a scene. Neither owner apologized during the entire incident. Instead stood behind the bar and watched with a look of annoyance spread across their face. I was completely astonished she had the gall to sit there and watch and act like it was a bother to her. She gave a passive aggressive apology to the girl when the checks were given and comped her bill-which is the least she could do. I will never be returning and do not recommend this place to anyone. If you want good wine and charcuterie with a friendly atmosphere, please go to Finch and Fifth and forget this place. Mark- in response to you. You graced our table with your presence when we were first seated. You never returned after that. Certainly not to issue an apology. Your manager issued a passive aggressive apology. You stayed behind the bar. As far as our tickets go, none of us received a discount except for the member of our party who had the roach fall on her. So I'm not sure who you issued a "discount" to.
