However, I was honestly too grossed out to want to eat it again, and I wasn't given any option--whether to remake it or have it removed from the bill. What was more disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. No manager came over to apologize, and nothing was comped or discounted on the bill. It was clear the staff was aware of the situation, as several employees came out and repeatedly stared at us, which made us feel uncomfortable. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's how they're handled that matters. With better service recovery, this could have been a completely different experience. As it stands, it left a bad impression. I would consider giving them another chance, but only if situations like this are handled more professionally in the future.

They need to step up the taste game or lower the prices or increase the size. Otherwise, I think they'll end up folding pretty quickly. I was surprised to see the head chef is the same as Cork and Flame in Evans as that restaurant is well managed and the food stands out. I know he's capable of better but we won't be back until there is some obvious signs of improvement.

In appearance, it reminded me more of a steak you might get at a diner than what I expected from a restaurant like The Wildmount. My wife ordered the chicken with fettuccine. Unfortunately, she found it far too salty and heavy on the garlic, which made the dish difficult to enjoy. Overall, it seemed to us that the chef was trying to incorporate too many different flavors, and they didn't always complement each other. We really wanted to love The Wildmount, particularly since we chose it for a special occasion. There are some interesting ideas on the menu, and our first server certainly made a good impression. However, based on our anniversary dinner, the food and especially the service did not live up to our expectations. I would suggest not doing a party of over 6. The kitchen can't seem to handle it. I was not the only person in the group that had problems with their food. I expect better when you are paying average $50 a person for the experience. Fortunately we were in the party room upstairs.
