The 3 missing stars are definitely from the flys. They have to come up with better fly control. The flys almost flew me out of there I fanned my entire meal. The smash burgers was just a. Small patty definitely disappointed. The waffle fries were the best thing on my plate. Hot and crispy and presented every well in the basket. Also didn't get a refill until the end of our meal.

    Macaroni and cheese. Delicious!

Knowing that this is the sister restaurant to Neon Fig brought a level of expectancy I have not had for quite some time. I knew the space (though unfortunate due to it being the former home of Aiken Brewing Company), but the menu had been kept a secret. I like keeping secrets, but not secrets kept with me. So I was there for their Grand Opening (which was also their first day open). The place was buzzing as I walked down the Alley (due to their outdoor facing bar-you can order drinks and food there!). The outdoor seating in the front was full and walking in, it appeared the inside seating was as well. But luck favors the hungry (at least that's what I believe). There was one table available, and by the front door no less. I always order water, but also requested the NA Stella (which is their only non alcoholic option). I hadn't tried it yet. They were out so I stuck to water, and later coffee. I started with the nacho fries. Waffle fries topped with jalapenos, cheese, corn salsa, and taco meat (protein is optional-taco meat, tofu, grilled chicken, or fried chicken). That could have been a meal in itself. If you are ordering for one, come hungry! Also, it was delicious. Then I went for the ribeye sandwich. It includes a Jack Daniels sauce and melted cheese. I chose slaw for the side, as I didn't want more waffle fries. I also added a side of macaroni and cheese. Good call on my part, for both. The red cabbage slaw was moist and crisp. The mac and cheese was perfectly cooked with plenty of cheese. And that sandwich, it has set the standard for the rest. I want to try them all now. Quality is in the details. From the ribeye to the bun to the balance of flavors, it was perfection. I am not sure if they have dessert, as I had to tap out after all that but I will be back soon to find out. And if they do, oh I will be ordering it/them first! Stop in as soon as you can.

We had a table of 4 on Thursday night and had a lovely time. This restaurant renovated the old Aiken Brew Pub and opened up the entire downstairs where their is window seating and three bars (2 parallel to each other on each side and one that serves people outside in the Alley. See photos. They also have a bar upstairs so very cool and festive! Our food was delicious but I only took photos of the corn ribs which were very good but messy to eat. We had the Cobb salad, Wedge salad and Fried Fish sandwich. All 5 stars!

Rueben & Asian salad was excellent. Will definitely come back here to try the other things in their menu.

Just so-so. Bland food. I was expecting more at the prices charged. Service was fair, food was just not in line with the price.

The decor and service are good. The food is overpriced for being just so so. I was excited to try it and wasn't impressed.

Dawn was an excellent server and pointed us in all of the right directions for our night out in Aiken, SC. Get the polenta fries and Brussels! The menu was a bit different than the one online but it was BETTER! We are so glad we stopped in and will certainly be back and will send all of our friends who take a turn visiting the area for The Masters Tournament.

My husband ordered the brisket grilled cheese, which was absolutely delicious, and I ordered the shrimp and grits, which were phenomenal at first. Unfortunately, a few bites in, I found a black hair in my food. Our server did apologize and immediately took the dish back to be remade, which I appreciated. However, I was honestly too grossed out to want to eat it again, and I wasn't given any option--whether to remake it or have it removed from the bill. What was more disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. No manager came over to apologize, and nothing was comped or discounted on the bill. It was clear the staff was aware of the situation, as several employees came out and repeatedly stared at us, which made us feel uncomfortable. I understand that mistakes happen, but it's how they're handled that matters. With better service recovery, this could have been a completely different experience. As it stands, it left a bad impression. I would consider giving them another chance, but only if situations like this are handled more professionally in the future.

We started off with the scallops and spinach cheese dip which were good, nothing special. We also ordered the charcuterie board which was a HUGE disappointment. It was $45 and had a few cheap store bought crackers, 8 blueberries and some salami and cheese, really confused at why the price was so high for only a few low grade options... there were 4 of us and barely enough for each of us to have one cracker. This is where everything went downhill from here. For entrees our table ordered the short rib, chicken piccata, and elk. The short rib was tender but lacked flavor. The forbidden black rice was flavorless mush, couldn't even eat it. The chicken piccata was watery and soup like. The pasta had no flavor and the chicken was soggy from sitting in the pasta water. The elk was ok, but the barley pine nut whip was flavorless, it needed mashed potatoes to go with the meat. The waitress asked if we liked our meals and we told her that we did not. That's where the conversation ended. Apparently management doesn't care how the food is coming out? Not sure but we spent over $300 and will definitely not be back. I'm glad we tried it before we brought out of town guests here. If you like flavorless food then this is your spot.

They have a great space with plenty of seating, both indoors and out. They have TVs throughout the brewery so watching a game there is probably pretty easy. I started with the onion rings and then went with the double smash burger and I have to say it was solid. They also have a great selection of beers which included several guest taps. My only piece of constructive criticism is that when I got my 3 growlers filled at the end of my visit (because they have good beer and I wanted to drink more later), my growlers were neither sealed nor labeled. For those that don't know, breweries usually label the growlers with beer your ordered and seal it so it doesn't leak. I've only ever run into this once before, it was in Amarillo, TX. I didn't make a fuss about it but it didn't come off as the most professional or polished in that respect. I'd really like to see them reexamine this part of their operation and possibly consider branded labels for the growlers (so that you know what you're drinking) and branded caps (their dog logo would fit perfectly and be a good way to rep the brand). Overall, I had a great visit. But I'll inquire before getting my growlers filled again.
