The best vegetarian chicken in town! We always get vegetarian sesame chicken and vegetarian General Tso's beef. Both delicious. Two large orders is more than the two of us can finish. Recently we got a large order with big group, so we tried the one bean curd dish and the garlic broccoli. The tofu was soft, not a chewy fried variety, so not my preference. The broccoli was good but I've had better. If we lives closer, we'd have this all the time. Highly recommend. read more

This place is easy to get to. It's in a small plaza at Hertel and Delaware Ave, so it's on 3 major bus routes: 11, 23 and 25. Their current Nov 2022) business model is take-out (or delivery) only. Except for a standard door, this place is accessible (didn't check the rest rooms). The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I wanted stir fried veggies and asked if mushrooms are included. They're not. I asked if I could order them as an add-on and the answer was, "Yes!" The woman preparing food was especially nice. She had a welcoming, warm smile. My veggies were properly prepared. Not overcooked. Not undercooked. They were freshly prepared from good quality ingredients. The sauce was very mild. Would have liked something with more zip to it. The meal came with an order of good steamed rice. Even though they're not having seating, the feeling I had was the place is run-down. It made me feel like this restaurant is struggling. My husband and I were waiting for our kid to finish her AAU basketball practice nearby by loitering in the Dunkin lot next to the plaza where Taste Good is located. He looked over and said, "Hey, I hear that place tastes pretty good." He's cute, so the cheesy dad joke convinced me to give Taste Good a try. :-D And I'm glad we did! Taste Good prices are very reasonable, on the lower end of Chinese takeout that I've seen lately anyway. Where a lot of places are pushing $15 for most dishes, there are many $10.99 menu options here. Also, I eat vegetarian and was pleased to see a decent-sized list of vegetarian options that included some with plant-based chicken and beef. I decided to go with a tofu dish, the bean curd in garlic sauce. And the tofu here was really good! This dish had fried tofu that was cut into triangles a bit thinner than a lot of Chinese takeout typically does. So it was somewhat sturdier on the outside with more snap than usual, still with the chewy soft middle you'd expect. The portion was very generous, with a lot of tofu filling the standard rectangle plastic takeout container. The vegetables were ample too, but not so much that the tofu was skimpy, it was a good pile of tofu! I liked the tofu so much that I've since returned to Taste Good with my vegan teen daughter to get the same dish for her to try. And her verdict? She really likes it too! The thinner cut on the tofu really does allow it to have a more concentrated flavor from the sauce, and a really satisfying crisp-then-soft-chew to it. Taste Good is generally out of our way, but when we are in the area I will gladly stop back in to enjoy the tofu and try other parts of the vegetarian menu. I've been trying to figure what went wrong with the hot and sour soup. I mean, I knew how to fix it --add vinegar and hot sauce, so only thing I came up with is I got there too early, Ten minutes before they opened. Mine was the first order of the day, and it was six items... three people's worth of lunch (and supper and breakfast). The phone started ringing, caller holding, caller waiting, cook and help maybe still waking up. And someone forgot the vinegar and hot sauce. Stuff happens. Normally, hot and sour soup from here is the best in the area. And after I fixed it, it still is. The pork lo mein was very good, as usual. The shrimp roll had 2 or 3 whole shrimps in it, and not those tiny salad shrimps, But I deducted a star for having to fix the soup. This was first time I ever picked up from Taste Good at opening. 10:30. I was out and running errands. Next time, I'll start out later. Oh, and those who had egg fu yung reported it was best ever. This is actually my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant in Buffalo so I don't know why it took me so long to write a review. You can eat inside but like most typical Chinese spots it's cold and basic so not really a spot most people stay at and eat. I love the general Tso chicken and shrimp eggrolls. The chicken is actually big chunks of chicken and not a bunch of breading like most restaurants give you. The wings are good too as well as the egg foo young. They get 4 stars because there have been times were my food wasn't great, but it's mostly consistent and good. They are pretty quick when you call to order. read more

Did take out from here recently. They are not yet open for dining in (oct 2021). Brisk takeout happening, always a good sign. Paying took way too long. The man behind the counter was too busy, he had a phone ringing, he had people standing there to pay for the order, he had workers coming asking questions, it's just all took too long. We had a chicken dish and a pork dish. The chicken dish - the pieces of chicken were far too large. It should've been a much smaller pieces. We had to cut them into quarters ourselves. The other dish was pretty good. Dumplings were the best thing on the table. Easy parking in the strip center there. read more

Used to eat here pretty often but never again after finding someone's fingernail clippings in my order. You can't mistake or forget finding a fingernail in your dumpling. Truly traumatic. There were previous orders where I thought I noticed hair in our food, but tried to be understanding or chalk it up to stringy scallions but the fingernail was too much. Not to mention, the quality has seriously suffered the last few months. Gray, watery dishes with very little flavor or spice, mushy and oily noodles with the same problem. We're done. We started using this eatery a year ago due to its proximity to a few stores we regularly shop at. We can go in to order and shop then pickup our tasty food. It's worked out great and have continued to patronize this small eatery. There's a lot of parking and recently the parking lot was redone so it's a lot better. It's an average of 20-30mins to have your order done and they can call you to advise you of your order, or just come in and wait. The menu is quite huge and though we have tried a variety of their food, I feel confident in saying probably everything offered is delicious and cooked quickly, when considering the high volume of take-out orders. The only thing we have to complain about is the free rice included with some orders. Sometimes we get a small amount and other times none at all, though rice is included as per the menu. BUT this is a very small problem and a very busy fast-order eatery so I really cannot complain. We have eaten here occasionally and though the place is small with a few tables available, the amount of people coming is a distraction as you are eating. Rather than using their restroom, it's just easier to walk a few minutes to the big market next door. The place is well used for take-out so at least others know of their quality and taste. We have been to a few other similar asian take-out places in the area that even had menus almost exactly as the menu used here, but they have always replied they don't even know of anyone else in the area with the same menu. Taste Good has always had and have the best taste and flavor! We are happy we stumbled into this place quite by chance, and I am always happy to give my deserving wife a break from cooking. I always order a large order and even between two eaters, we have enough left over of an already-prepared delicious healthy meal for another day! I highly recommend Taste Good and hope you'll come by and try your favorite asian dishes and something different too! read more

I hardly ever write reviews, but I feel compelled to tell anyone/everyone not to go here! I was optimistic because of the 4.9 rating through door dash (where I ordered through) but I have no idea how they have that. The issues presented in the food were not that of an off night. The alright: spring rolls and fried dumpling (even though I ordered veggie and received meat dumplings) Now the bad: general tso's chicken with veggie fried rice and broccoli - the chicken was cooked TO DEATH (you could heard your teeth squeak against it as you bit in) and not only was there very minimal sauce, but the sauce that existed was not general tso's. I mean, this is a pretty standard flavor. It lacked any spice, salt, etc. I'm not even sure what was in it bc it was bland AF. The broccoli I added had about half freshly cooked, half clearly older broccoli. The veggie fried rice... I'm actually impressed that anyone could make veggie fried rice unappetizing. Szechuan beef with pork fried rice. I didn't taste it myself, as it wasn't my meal. But reactions were basically same with the sauce issues, and the beef was slimy and not the color one should expect of beef. It honestly erred on potentially unsafe in flavor and texture, so was thrown away after a few bites. Beef sticks. A whole lotta nothing. No sauce. No seasoning. No flavor. Tasted suspiciously like dog food smells. I usually go crazy did beef sticks so this was really disappointing. Again, I usually take bad reviews with a grain of salt (something this meal desperately needed) so I went into this optimistic, but man oh man. If you can get me to sit down and write a thought out review for something, that something was pretty damn compelling. I'll add to this that I'm 6 months pregnant and always ravenous lol so it's pretty hard to get me to completely throw in the towel on food- whatever it is. And throw in we did... we threw away almost our entire $50 meal! read more

Finally, a place that has General Tso chicken that isn't hush puppies with sauce. Next time when you eat your General Tso chicken from another Chinese resturant try and cut into the middle of your chicken and find out much chicken is actually in there. I guarantee you not a lot if any at all. Hence the hush puppies reference. Not at Taste good Chinese though. Their chicken pieces are huge and include white chicken meat and not like just batter. Sometimes they put too much sauce with the chicken and sometimes its just perfect. I always subtittute my fried rice for Pork Lomein which is an up charge but its so worth it. Taste Good Chinese will be my default go to Chinese restaurant for dinner when going home from work and need something that taste good! read more

Great crab Rangoon, and the basic American chinese favorites: general tsos, sweet and sour, lo mein, chicken and brocolli, etc. Their food always tastes very fresh and good, their name does not lie...it tastes good. This is my favorite takeout style Chinese in the buffalo area. The only bad thing I have to say is that sometimes their customer service can be hit or miss. There has been times we come to pick up our food and we cannot find an adult in sight...This seems to be family owned where they may have their young children help out on the register? This is not a place you would want to take a date if you're trying to impress them. But, you're not going for the appearance. Out of all the Chinese restaurants I've visited in Buffalo in 2020 (that have a full menu) this has been my favorite so far. Great ratio of sauce to dish for the orange chicken, and good flavoring. Not a lot of vegetables, and rice is an up-charge if you want it. Some of the chicken pieces were chewy and I found a bone, so watch for that. What really made it was the fried pork dumplings. Stuffed to exploding with pork. Would definitely get those again. Both dishes did better when they were originally made rather than reheated, but they are alright if you need to save them. There's not enough sauce to saturate all the rice though, should you have leftover of the orange chicken. read more

Meh. Strip plaza Chinese food in a place that looks like it's in the middle of a renovation. The floor is missing tiles.... and packages of building materials are scattered about. It's more of a take-out place, but there are a few tables. My order was taken by a ten year old (seriously!) who wrote it down, figured out the cost, and was able to use a credit card machine (thirty-five cents extra for credit.... to cover their cost, I assume). A few minutes later my combination platter was ready (and packed to-go in a stapled bag). I unpacked my chicken chow mein, fried rice, and egg roll.... and settled into a booth to have my dinner. The egg roll was hot, crunchy, and tasty.... but the rest of the food was overly salty and kind of mushy (except for the abundant celery). The portion size was generous.... and the just-cooked food was nice and hot. I just wish it tasted better. And.... a bit of hot tea or cold water would have been nice for the rare souls like me who decide to eat in. read more

If you're looking for a mock meat that has the taste and consistency of chicken, Taste Good's vegetarian chicken is not it. The texture is too soft to pass for real chicken, which I've tried both in the vegetarian chicken and broccoli and the vegetarian General Tso's chicken. You can get better vegetarian chicken in the grocery store, like Quorn or Gardein, and cook it yourself. The veggies that came with both dishes were also overcooked, but I like my broccoli still a little crisp. The General Tso's sauce was sweet and not at all spicy, even though the menu claims it's spicy. I'll give the vegetarian beef a try next time, though I suspect I'll feel meh about it, too. Still, I'll give Taste Good credit for offering vegetarian protein options other than just tofu. read more

The wait time is never long, the people at the counter are always nice, and that's about as simple as it gets. Not much to write home about, but I've been eating here for over 15 years since it's also very vegetarian friendly and I was a veg for a long period of time. Taste Good has the meatiest, the biggest, and the best Sesame and General Tso's Chicken I've ever seen or eaten from a Chinese take out in Buffalo and it really does taste good, it's delicious even! I won't waste my time buying it from anywhere else now. I've heard people rave about Wok and Roll in Williamsville and their Sesame Chicken is much smaller and definitely not as good as Taste Good's! Trust me, try and compare for yourself, I'm sure you'll agree. They also serve excellent Shrimp Lo Mien noodles, they're my favorite. I've tried quite a few dishes from Taste Good and I'm making my way through the menu actually. Determined to try something different every time. As for the location, they are in a corner plaza on Delaware across the street from Burger King. I don't really like the parking in this plaza but it is what it is. I call ahead and my order is always ready within ten minutes. They do have a seating area inside the resturant but I've always ordered my food to go or order delivery and they have never messed up my order which is a miracle! Make sure you ask for extra duck sauce if that's your thing because they skimp on the sauce packages with delivery. However, the food is always pipping hot and tastes fresh. read more

Best quick Chinese food in dare I say all of Buffalo?! Love Taste Good so much that now we still drive out to Delaware/North Buff area from Southtowns just to enjoy it! Chicken comes in super large pieces and all white meat!! No surprises or dark meat chunks here. Their Crab Rangoon is awesome and my bf always gets the pork egg foo young and raves about it. The portions are extremely gracious and we always make at least 2 sometimes 3 meals out of our order. read more

(They wanted to eat there, then go to the movies-kill two birds with 1 stone) We get there and everyone is eating, comes to find out and to make a long story short, BUG was in the food! I tell everyone to STOP and throw the food out. (Not thinking I should save it, gross) so I took pictures and we headed back to the restaurant. I asked for a manager. I explained to the manager, who was very nice don't get me wrong but she kept saying "you have to understand we are a business and we can't give money back. People come back all the time and say they don't like the food" I said but this is a different case, it's not that the food wasn't enjoyable but it's the fact we found a BUGGGGG in the food. IT HAS LEGS AND A BELLY!!! She gave me a hard time and didn't give a full refund. As a "professional business" you can't promote your food as "CLEAN" or "GOOD" if I find bugs in it. Doesn't matter. I showed her the pics I had and she kept saying "no no no we don't have bugs, that's grease, sometimes grease gets in" Absolutely not grease. And if you KNOW DIRTY GREASE gets in your "clean" cooked items then SHAME ON YOU. That's not clean. So I warn everyone DO NOT EAT HERE!!! She didn't give full refund nor take responsibility. This is my new speed dial Chinese restaurant. Why? Two (three hyphenated?) words - Lobster Lo-Mein! This is the first place I've seen in Buffalo to offer lobster (not shrimp in lobster sauce) as a menu option. Everything else is great as you'd hope from a Chinese restaurant. Boneless spareribs, egg rolls, General Tsao's, etc. It's the sort of place you can't speak much about without using phrases like "it's good! It's just really good!" Um, surprise of the year, actually. I avoided Taste Good Chinese Restaurant because I was under the impression that it was going to be an iffy take-out Chinese place and I really wasn't up for putting up with that kind of nonsense. Then, one day, I discovered quite by accident that Taste Good was vegetarian. This piqued my interest, so I put it on my radar. A few days later my husband I were drained from a long day, and didn't want to go anywhere, so I checked around for delivery. Taste Good did delivery! So I placed an order for Vegetarian General Tso's Chicken, Regular Sweet and Sour Chicken, and an order of crab rangoon. We got our food maybe 40 minutes later (which was the estimated time I was given) and we dug in. The food was still warm and boy, was I surprised at the quality! I usually order vegetarian sesame chicken at China Max, but I'm getting it from Taste Good from now on! (mostly because they're just a few minutes from my house) The seitan they used for the faux meat was prepared perfect. If seitan is undercooked, I find the texture off-putting. If it's overfried, it's really chewy, which I usually don't have a problem with, but this seitan was somewhere in between and now I know it's my favorite way to have it! There were some fresh veggies like broccoli and carrots with the dish, and the general sauce wasn't quite what I was expecting. It wasn't very spicy, but almost more sweet, which I actually prefer. And it was served with steamed rice; the good kind, not the dried out kind. The meal was perfect! The crab rangoon where also a surprise. They aren't really sweet, but they aren't really garlicky or overseasoned with anything else either. It's hard to describe, other than they may just be my new favorite crab rangoon in Buffalo. My husbands Sweet and Sour Chicken was typical Sweet and Sour Chicken, nothing really to remark about, but nothing to complain about either. The woman on the phone was very nice, I was a little apprehensive to order here because of previous reviews but luckily I didn't experience any bad customer service. The woman was thorough in answering all of my questions and didn't rush me off the phone. She quoted us a time of 40 minutes but the food actually came exactly 20 minutes after I called. That could be because we only live a block away, lol. The delivery guy called when he was outside, but I had to walk to the street because he was a few houses down. He was very nice and apologetic when he handed me the food. The food was decent: the crab rangoons were soggy but the filling was delicious! My chicken w/ broc wasn't very good, there was a ton of broccoli but not much chicken, and it didn't have that nice sauce like I am accustomed to. The beef with garlic sauce was good, a little sweet but I preferred it to my dish. Good portions of meat and assorted veggies. Overall, we definitely will be ordering again when we're feeling lazy!
