It is a diner/coffee shop type place, which is open only for breakfast and lunch. Wait staff is very naturally pleasant. I got a tuna melt. We found this little gem by recommendation of a local. I had the breakfast burrito and my husband had the chilaquiles. Both were delicious, but the best part of the experience was the waitress, Elizabeth. She was so so sweet! Smiled easily, and was very helpful and kind. She and her 2 coworkers sang happy birthday to me (it was my 50th) while presenting us with a candle-lit Belgian waffle :). Such a nice low key start to our day. Go support these people! This review is based mainly on the customer service. The food is great. I've gotten the shrimp crepe and the El Patron Benedict. Both were really good. I'm local to HMB and came here with my husband, son, and friend for breakfast. As soon as we walked in the door, one of the employees there stopped me and informed me they don't allow any outside food or beverage in the restaurant. Luckily this didn't apply to the milk or cheerios I had for my 21-month-old son, just the coffee I had in my reusable container. We ended up spending about $90 there, so it's just kind of ridiculous that they're so uptight about someone bringing a drink in. If they could lighten up it would feel more welcoming. Otherwise the food is great and there's plenty of seating. Worth trying for sure. read more

Called Sunday morning at 9am for a pick up order. It was ready in 10 minutes. We ordered the chicken and waffles, sausage, bacon, and swiss and ham croissant. Taste Cafe Coffee: A The coffee was brewed hot and fresh, and tasted great. I couldn't ask for a better coffee if I tried. In fact, I drank a lot. Food: The Taste Cafe menu has everything a traditional diner would have but in a more upscale way. Since it's mostly only open for breakfast and lunch, that's what the majority of the menu is catered towards. Some of the fun items that stuck out include the smoked salmon crepe, taste burrito, or bananas foster pancakes. I wasn't sure what I was in the mood for and ended up ordering a chepes benedict. It was a benedict with bacon, avocado, pico de gallo, and two poached eggs on an English muffin. I also choose hash browns as my side. In all, it was delicious, although I do wish there was more food, and I left still slightly hungry. Service: The waitress at the Taste Cafe was friendly, and the food came out fast. Not only that, but everything felt safe and clean. The entire staff was wearing masks, and I felt comfortable dining in.  It was one of the few places I've been it looked safe to also diner inside as well. Walked in late morning after an easy hike with some friends. The restaurant was bustling when we came in, so it took about 15 minutes to obtain seating. Pretty quickly, someone was there to take drink orders. Everyone in my party ordered coffee and water, which took at least 15 minutes to arrive at the table, which I consider a relatively long time for a breakfast diner. I ordered a meatball sandwich with garlic oregano fries, and both my friends ordered the all meat scramble. Each entree was ~$15. The food was somewhat disappointing. I thoroughly enjoyed the fries, but the "house made" roll on the sandwich was soggy and generic, and the meatballs and cheese tasted microwaved. To be perfectly honest, I prefer the taste of a meatball sub from Subway. The meat scramble, according to my friends, was "pathetically small and undercooked".
