I heard very good things from this place from Spanish people, I am Spanish myself and I was very disappointed with the experience. They have a rotating 5 course menu that you can't check beforehand which was fine by me but when my girlfriend and I went the menu was very lacking.
The first course was a plate with curados, which is typical from Spain although the quality of the Jamón and the cheese was quite poor, but it was ok I was still excited to see the rest of the courses at this point. The second course (which took forever to come) was Lentejas(!!?). Lentils is a typical dish in Spain but I have never being served this for dinner in my life and to be honest is not a dish to serve in a nice dinner, this dish was traditionally made in Spain to fill up a big family with economical ingredients, definitely not something for a 5 course tasting menu. The next two courses were a little better, lubina with rice and cordero. They were good but nothing especial in my opinion. The last "course" was really the one that pissed me off. It was a tiny chocolate brownie, it was dry and quite bad, at this point we paid and left the place very disappointed.
To sum to the whole experience, this is a fixed menu for 30 pounds each. The drinks menu was absurdly overpriced, with a glass of wine being 10 pounds and generic small beers being almost 5.
I suppose other weeks the menu is better and that is where the reviews come from. In my experience however it´s not worth it AT ALL considering the price you pay for the mediocre quality and menu. read more
