Recently ordered take out from here and the food was fresh and hot when it arrived. Everything was presented in a fancy to go containers with a sleeve with the restaurant name on it. The food def had flavor. I order a new chill chicken and let me tell you this is the first place I've been that spicy meant spicy. Loved it!! The only downside and I think this is most time places is that the portion sizes are small compared to price.

I went in on a Saturday lunchtime and found the service very efficient without feeling rushed. It was surprisingly quiet, so we forgot about the world around and were able to concentrate on the delicious food. The dishes are in the range of about £3.50 - £5.50 each and they're usually split into 2-3 bits, so can be shared if necessary. I recommend getting bread as well - it's great for soaking up sauces and is nice, soft ciabatta style with tomato sauce to dip it in. Particularly recommended: - deep-fried chicken soaked in garlic - not at all greasy and very tasty - potato with layers of goats cheese, ham and tomato - prawns with scrambled egg and asparagus (much, much taster than it sounds!) The sangria comes with a good amount of fruit in it and at £3 a glass is cheap and plenty enough to last a meal (if you can resist another one, anyway!). All in all a really nice place if you're into tapas and a great introduction if you've never tried it.

My favourites are the selection of cheese, the garlic prawns and the little ham croquettes. Try a jug of sangria with it - it's very well done here and compliments the food greatly. This is a lovely place, decorated in a way inkeeping with the food and very private. The tables are well spaced, so you don't feel cramped or overheard. I like this place for dates or for a meal with a good mate. Always busy, so best to book it unless you've got time to have a drink at the bar first (which is no bad thing here). Go for a great, relaxed meal on one of Oxford's loveliest streets.

They have a rotating 5 course menu that you can't check beforehand which was fine by me but when my girlfriend and I went the menu was very lacking. The first course was a plate with curados, which is typical from Spain although the quality of the Jamón and the cheese was quite poor, but it was ok I was still excited to see the rest of the courses at this point. The second course (which took forever to come) was Lentejas(!!?). Lentils is a typical dish in Spain but I have never being served this for dinner in my life and to be honest is not a dish to serve in a nice dinner, this dish was traditionally made in Spain to fill up a big family with economical ingredients, definitely not something for a 5 course tasting menu. The next two courses were a little better, lubina with rice and cordero. They were good but nothing especial in my opinion. The last "course" was really the one that pissed me off. It was a tiny chocolate brownie, it was dry and quite bad, at this point we paid and left the place very disappointed. To sum to the whole experience, this is a fixed menu for 30 pounds each. The drinks menu was absurdly overpriced, with a glass of wine being 10 pounds and generic small beers being almost 5. I suppose other weeks the menu is better and that is where the reviews come from. In my experience however it´s not worth it AT ALL considering the price you pay for the mediocre quality and menu.

Hummus, meatballs, shrimp, tempura are examples of 20 or so choices. You can order any number of dishes, each od which is large snack size. We ordered meatballs, vegetable tempura, honey spiced chicken wings, olives and spice rubbed chips. Each dish was as tasty as the other. Service was wonderful, immediate and very friendly. But we went in at 2pm on Saturday, so the place was very quiet, which meant the staff were not busy at the time. Nice food, fun and lovely service. Reasonable price (£30 for the meal, which included one large glass of wine). Highly recommend.

Between 4 of us we ordered 14 dishes including roast tomatoes with halloumi, chorizo with goats cheese, lambs kidney toasts, cider braised pigs cheeks, plaice goujons with lemon mayo, mexican wrap, roasted vegetable kebabs. Prices range from £2.75 to £3.95 per dish and everything was well-cooked and very tasty. It's a great concept and if you've ever read a menu and wanted more than 1 thing on it or just wanted a whole bunch of starters, - you'll love this.

Well I obviously hadn't visited The Red Pepper in Newport. We had a party of 8 (but there was another party of 20 and a few couples in the restaurant at the same time), so we were not expecting a speedy service, but a speedy service is what we got. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, explaining the menu and what each dish consisted of before taking our order and returning prompt haste with our drinks. We ordered about 25 dishes between the 8 of us and the initial food arrived very quickly and then slowly trickled through for the rest of the meal, which was great because it gave you plenty of time to digest what you had eaten and have another drink and chat before sampling the next dish. The food was outstanding, perfectly cooked and very filling. After eating the courses we all felt that we could eat the whole meal again, then cue 10 minutes and everyone was completely stuffed, although not to full to sample a dessert! All the desserts looked exceptional. I had the Baileys ice cream which was to die for (I certainly could have eaten that again!!). When we received the bill we were all a little shocked; plenty of tapas a sweet and lots of alcohol all for £20 a head BARGAIN!!. A must for anyone who lives locally and even for those who may have to travel a little to sample their delights. Definitely worth 5 Stars.

They have a nice wine list featuring European wines. The gin is plentiful, and they offer gin tastings. We enjoyed delicious gin and tonics on both nights, including those using Cotswolds Gin! On our second night we ate at the restaurant. We arrived early, around 5 pm, after a day of traveling around the Cotswolds. We had a drink and then said we'd love to come back in an hour to have dinner - they said that was no problem (and this is a bank holiday)! We wandered off to a pub down the street (Eight Bells), which was suggested by the waitstaff. We had a great time having a glass of wine there, where we mixed with locals and visitors from near and far. We returned to the Bistro, which was pretty much full - except one table! They had held our table back, with three settings for dinner. We shared excellent food (and more g&ts!) including classic egg pasta with shaved truffle (yum!), the avocado and egg salad, and a side of lovely, buttered green beans. Overall, the meal has been the highlight meal of my trip to the England. The staff was fun, hardworking, and really made us feel welcome, even if the majority of the guests were "stiff upper lips" in regards to us having a fun time.
