Attended: Sunday 9/10/22 @ 2 pm…read more Just a quick point about the actual website. It is really geared to events, and open at varying times for Sunday lunch. So, I couldn't actually find a menu. Moving on.... I told the restaurant that I couldn't have cheese in or on my food. They checked with me regarding the certain meals, which was good. Friendly welcome, and great staff. The venue lovely. We all went for the Sunday roast, except my daughter. I'll list the items, and leave the niggles at the end. 1 x Le Serre, Chardonnay - £24.50 3 x Cokes (330ml) - 7.50 1 x pink Flamingo Cocktail - £9.50 1 x Pravha - £5.00 2 x S & P Squid - £14.80 2 x Moroccan Haloumi - £14.80 1 x Confit Chicken - £16.95 2 x Free Range Chicken - £33.90 1 x Topside of Beef - £17.95 1 x Churros - £6.40 3 x Sticky Toffee Puddings - £20.70 1 x Coffee - Amricano - £3.00 1 Double Hennessy Fine - £28.00 1 x Espresso Martini - £8.00 Sub-Total £211.00 Service Charge £21.10 Total £232.10 I checked that the staff do get their share of the service charge, except the managers. All the starters were fine, I'd have like more chilli and had my daughters, but that's me being picky. The mains were all good, I tried my son's beef, and it was melt in your mouth, my free range chicken roast was very faloursome. The sweets were good in flavour, and son enjoyed his Churros, my wife couldn't finish her ST pudding as it was too much for her. The niggles, and no stars lost: The roast potatoes were a bit bland in tast, so not sure what fat was used (at home I goose fat). They were large, and I like large roast potatoes, but I found the outside hard to cut trhough. My guess is that they are cooked up early in the day and kept warm. That's for the chef to say. The roast chicken seem to be left bereft without some stuffing. Sticky Toffee Pudding - It was always was going to be a challenge as it's one of my wife's signature dishes. It was OK, but felt like just sponge and could have done with more toffee sauce. Ice cream on top, was good, being greedy, I could done with more. :-) The Brandy - My favourite tipple at the end of a meal with a coffee. I was asked if I want cold or warm milk, Ilke being given the option. Unfortunately, the brandy was served in a cold glass and it deserved a warmer one. Cusping my had around the glass didn't really help. Would I go back? Yes. No points taken off for the niggles. An issue for the hard of hearing is that there is no soft furning to take up some of the sound, and the background music was a drone on my hearing. I have two hearing aids and the two main settings didn't help. I was picking up the loud spekers on the other tables, which made it hard for me hear right near my own family. Hearing aids tend to pick up the loudest noise. The musak was an unnecessary distraction. :-(

Will not be returning nor recommending having afternoon tea there.

Visited: 29/6/18 Food Standards' Rating: 5/5…read more Our friends had already arrived, and were sitting out the back on the patio area. First drinks. Had a good bit of banter with the people greeting guest. Really friendly atmosphere. Seating on the patio was extremely comfortable. Getting more drinks was easy peasy. A chap came and took our food order, and then with more drinks coming we went inside to our table. Five of us in total. I ordered the salmon, with the grapefruit and wasn't disappointed; I could have eaten more.... Before they took the food order they alerted us to the fact that there were only two fillet steaks left if we wanted to lay claim to them, and my friend and I did. I eaten at places before that claim that the steaks are 28 days' old. These were absolutely perfect. I had mine cooked blue, and it was beautiful. A crusting of crack pepper, and it was sumptuous. £27. None of the steaks are actually shown on the menu, so it really does depend upon what is available. (Aubrey's dry aged beef.) My wife had the fish cakes for her main, and really liked them. Pre-dinner drinks consisted of Gin and Fevertree tonic, Pinot Grigio, I stuck to Beck's, but my friend had some other light beer and lager, neither to my taste. With meal the women had Viognier (£25?), and us two blokes had a Malbec (£35). The waiter took time to explain about the Malbec, and was very enthusiastic in providing the details. Full marks for his love of what he does. OK. Ready for this...... With a rounding up with a tip £400 for the five of us. I put it down the ladies' tonic waters.....

When I arrived the venue has a large rear car park and you immediately walk into what is quite a small pub, I stood at the bar and waited for other guests to arrive and was pleasantly surprised by the drinks selection. A number of beers on draft and a very good wine selection, at reasonable prices with a lot of staff behind the bar so service was prompt. Once our party had arrived we were taken through into a rear dining room which was much larger and had a relaxing atmosphere. The food was fantastic there is a frequently changing menu with a number of specials on offer. I opted for the steak (and asked for it blue) which was cooked to perfection and of very high quality. Next to me a friend ordered the kiln roasted salmon and grapefruit salad which also looked amazing. Food was served quickly and despite being a party of 12 at the same time. There were no problems and everyone was incredibly happy. The staff were fantastic and took care of every minor detail. Definitely worth a visit, and fantastic value for money considering the quality. It does get busy so you will have to book a few weeks in advance for groups but considering what is on offer this is to be expected!

Having been to the previous incarnation of The Butchers Social pop-up in Harborne a few times, we…read morehad very high hopes for the new, permanent set up in Henley-in-Arden, on the other side of Birmingham (well, technically Warwickshire, but hey). Thankfully, it delivered on every level! Firstly, Henley is gorgeous. It's a mission from where we live and we've never been before, it's a properly quaint little town near Stratford with a lovely high street. We had a table at one of the windows and the view and people watching was superb. The new venue is also spot on. The interior decor is rustic and slightly vintage, with a modern edge (if that makes any sense). Its a big enough space as it goes through to a back room, which I imagine is rammed in the summer. I noticed they were advertising a comedy gig so it seems to have quickly established itself as a good entertainment venue in the area. It was busy without being too busy - always a good sign. The staff were friendly and the food and drinks came out in perfect time. And the food - wow. I went for the corned beef hash with fried egg (and a cheeky home made baked beans with beef to the side). Honestly one of the best brunches I've ever had. Crunchy and delicious on the outside, and the beef inside was incredibly soft and tasty. I also tried a bit of Ems eggs royale (standard) and it was creamy, light and delicious. The main menu looks very interesting too and we'll make the effort to come back and try it. They have a wide selection of wings, which we tried a few of back in the Harborne days, so we're assuming they'll still be as good as they were - especially the salted caramel wings!

The pork belly lollipops and salted carmel wings were our favorite! We also admired amazing chips (fries) and ordered a second bowl. The happy hour was well priced and the beer selections were great. As an American we don't do wings anywhere near as nice as these! I am ruined!

At the beginning, the service was slow and we had to wait a while for our drinks but this soon picked up throughout our dine. Staff here are extremely friendly but why really makes it is the food. It's all you can eat for £15.50 and it's about £3 more over the weekend. I felt that was great value for money and the quality of the food is great and much better than buffet restaurants. You can order anything off the menu and they make it fresh for you. All of us shared a variety of starters including spring rolls, duck pancakes, ribs, prawns and seaweed. For mains, I had a family nest which including chicken, prawns, beef.im a such all presented in a crispy basket type thing a bit like a poppadom. Great place to come with a group of people and then you.can share dishes. Order as much as you like of the menu as long as you don't waste anything. A lot of the dishes you.can pick what protein you want out of chicken, tofu,.prawn or beef. They also do other dishes which include premium ingredients such as lamb and tuna steak. Totally recommend!
