Yes, these are incredible prices, because you are served and the food is cooked by the students at various stages of their training. The front of house to build up their confidence.
My bill for a 4 course (including coffee) + beer and wine = £25.35. I gave £30. Unfortunately, I hear that the college is changing its stance, whereas previously the tips were divided amongst the students, it is now being put into a central pool for trips. Personally I prefer that they get the money.
The way they behave it is clear that the are being trained to a silver-service standard.
My starter was: Mackerel pate with horseradish.
Main: Chicken in a teriyaki sauce, a timbale of rice, plus roast vegetable were offered with new potatoes. the roast vegetables were lovely, as was the chicken.
Dessert: Chocolate brownie witha rich chocolate sauce and quenelle of vanilla ice cream on top.
Highly recommend the experience, and to support the student in their chosen career.
They also do theme nights.
Bear in mind that at lunch they have to finish at 14:00 due to lectures, and in the evening stop at 21:00 due their age.
It is licensed, and they do have a reasonable wine list. read more
