Lovely little place hidden in Little Clarendon Street serving French food. The food was just amazing, if expensive! There is a cheat opportunity- lunch menu is much cheaper, however, as it says, it's lunch menu, therefore you have to come earlier. There is also pre-theatre menu option that allows you to save pennies. I would recommend to book - we have been on a school night and the place was full.

I was visiting a friend in Oxford when I started debating whether to eat in Oxford or central London. I found this family run French gem tucked away in a cute little alley. The food was excellent and the service was prompt. The prices were very reasonable. I tried the soup of the day and the sea bass special of the day. Both were very good.

Yummy yum yum!! The food here was absolutely delicious! I order the salmon rillette which was amazing like omg mouth watering amazing. I wish I had gotten the large order and skipped out on the pork belly as the main entree. The pork belly was also delicious. Tender and flavorful and delicate all at the same time. I was not a fan of the sauce but omg I would have gladly had a heart attack for that delicious crackling. It wa Amy last meal in Oxford and it will not be forgotten!!

The taste here is really worthwhile, the taste is very authentic, the French is very authentic, I really like it.

Got there to Sunday lunch, food was great real value for money. However service was exeptionally rude, unattending and unfriendly.

I did not stay in the hotel but this review is for the restaurant and bar area of the hotel. My group had a table near the window with a great view in the middle afternoon. We came from California and the weather came with us because it was quite lovely without a cloud in the sky. We started with presecco before tea as a celebration. Preseco is sparkling wine but we cannot call it champagne or we might make the French mad as our server explained. Normally this was a traditional for graduation but considering our Oxford Global business program was ending it was time to celebrate. We ordered 6 orders of High tea for I people but it was way too much food. Considering we haven't eating lunch this was a late lunch or dinner. The scones are the best! Sweet butter and jam in a scone is devine. I'm not going to say amazing because I am resisting the urge. The scones hands down beat any butter milk southern biscuit I have had in America. This was shocking considering most English food in my opinion lack flavor and spice. Everything is mostly bread, basic entree and some form of dessert. Personally I prefer focus on the main course with dessert and bread optional. The high tea spread was mostly finger food sandwiches and dessert items. The tea and scones were my favorite part. Just lounging and having a great time with friends made for a great time. I will try again. This location was very affordable and will not break the bank. Cheers!

Two Cokes, a cappuccino, and a Americano with milk. Cokes £2.60 each - a tad excessive Cappuccino - £2.65 Americaono -£2.40 Total = £10.25 (not calculated until I left the place, over a week later...) All arrived OK. My coffee was fine quite frothy with a good dose of chocolate powder on top. Now the next bit is where things go awry. To me, customer service is paramount, as was demonstrated by the lady who greeted us at the door. So, when I asked a passing waiter for the bill, I expected to get the bill. He went back from the kitchen to the front of house bar area. No bill. Next I asked a young chap for the bill (£10.35), which he got for me and disappeared. Once he was back I offered him a £20 note. He tried to provide change, but hadn't enough. He took me to the first I had previously asked, and he was scratching around for change. At which point I said, give me the £20 back, and I'll pay by card. I was totally ignored, and given change, allegedly in my favour as if the bill was £10.30. OK. No thank you, no sorry for the trouble, no eye contact, no smile. Look folks. Get real. Customer service is important, it is not limited to the fact that you decided to wave 5p, the whole package is important. Will I return to this one? No. Will I boycott all Cafe Rouges? No.

We were trying to find a place in town without getting back on the bus to the park and ride, getting the car, and then driving around to the other side of Oxford. Voila! This place made itself know. To be honest, we were going to hit up the Pieminister on High Street when we stumbled by this place. I was delighted with how good a choice we made! I got the hullomi fries. OMG. I literally could've just had that and been happy. It was very good with the sauce and jalapeños. I also ordered the buttermilk chicken sandwich. Less wowed by that as I'd hoped. The breading didn't stay on the chicken as well and nothing about the flavor stood out to me. No worries as my dessert, sticky toffee pudding, made up for the sandwich. It was perfectly done and tasted amazing. I shared with one of my dinner companions because I was full, but wish I had ordered my own so I could take half home. The fries and the pudding could've made their own meal. Both are worth going back for, frankly. Again, we made a good choice with this place overall

We were seated quickly. The men working were friendly and let us know it might be a moment as they were taking care of a large party ahead of us. We were fine with that as we planned on doing the 2 for £13 cocktails to start, but we appreciated the warning! We both for the French martinis which we loved. The server brought out our small plate quickly and it was filling enough that we were fine to wait on entrees (though it came out rather quickly despite how busy they were). The pad Thai and burger were both great and flavorful. We did one entree and then a deal where we got a 3 course meal for £22. To finish the meal the popcorn chocolate brownie was decadent and I would 10/10 have it again. The vibes were cool and a great way to end the day. Prices were very reasonable as well. I would recommend this as a date night spot as well. Thank you fora fun experience! Glad we stopped by!
