We had a wonderful new year dinner here. Taste so good! All meals are fantastic! Will recommend friends to come when they visit Oxford ;) Must try the desert menu !

Cauliflower cheese soup
Samuel P.

Came in here because of the 2 course for £11 (or 3 course for £13) advertised outside. The service here was quite quick as well, so this makes for an excellent lunch spot. As others have stated it's in a good location as well, not far from the high street, shopping centres, Gloucester Green bus station etc. The food was pretty good too, had a cauliflower vegetable soup and chicken with dijon mustard. While it's not the best I've ever had (I thought the dijon could be improved), for the price it was quite good, and I was too stuffed to even shell out an extra 2 quid for dessert! Definitely worth a look if you're indecisive on where to go for lunch after shopping in Oxford.

Warm lentil salad with poached egg

The warm lentil salad with poached egg starter - presentation was nice tho plate wasn't very warm when the dish got to me. Bread pieces was nice crunchy and bacon did add nice flavour. However vinegar in the sauce was overpowering - almost made me sweat and I had to drink water to wash it. The sea bass main was spot on - great presentation and well-balanced flavour. Fish was fresh and not overcooked. Great dish! The chocolate pot dessert was really nice too - chocolate was full of flavour yet the mixture is still light enough to finish the pot in one go! New year 2-course at £10,95 and 3-course at £12.95 before 7. January special mains include pork belly, duck confit and sea beam (although sea beam was not available during my visit) The atmosphere was relaxing and staffs were efficient and friendly.

Steak and fries
Nao A.

I ordered two t bone steaks (medium rare) and fries for my date night in. As you can see in the picture, our steaks came shrivelled up and completely charred. This wasn't just well done, it was burnt all the way through. Nothing could fix it, the fries were hard and cold and obviously old and fried twice. I got two burnt hokey pucks and the worst fries I have ever had and paid over £40 for the pleasure. I went to this Cote before and ordered the fish, it was bland and horrible but I thought I would give them another chance, maybe they do meat better? Turns out, no... Not at all. Who messes up steak and chips? A blind child could cook this. Needless to say, I'll never eat from here again.

Steak frites

Great quality of food and service. The steak was perfectly cooked and the wine recommended also matched the taste. The weekend special is especially suitable for one. Overall, a good place if you would like to have a nice weekend meal.

Chocolate mousse, apple torte and 10 yr Talisker Scotch. Nice.

Very nice French bistro. The service was wonderful and the food very authentic. Location was great and very near the Bus station so I actually had breakfast there as well! I had a crepe wrapped with sunnyside eggs and bacon(which is really like our country ham)...wonderful.

Good choice for breakfast. Decent coffee, and pleasant wait staff. Near the centre of town.

Egg Benedict with late and fresh orange juice. Lovely breakfast!

Excellent hospitality and good ambience. The 3 course lunch menu was of great value. Must try to peach crumble as dessert. Loved it!
