It was busy, so you could tell that it is a popular spot. It is set on the river that runs through the village so you can enjoy your breakfast while the water slowly flows by you. This area and the cafe are beautiful. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Even though they were very busy, they showed no signs of being annoyed or overwhelmed. They seemed genuinely happy you were there and eager to make sure you were happy with your stay. We ordered the sausage rolls and a Cornish pastry and they were very good. I'm sure there are a lot of amazing restaurants in the place, but you would not go wrong stoping by here to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

I selected the Small Farmhouse breakfast which consisted of sausage, bacon, egg, hash brown, mushrooms, baked beans and a slice of toast with butter and jam. My husband selected the Farmhouse breakfast which had the same ingredients but twice as much. Of special note are the sausages which were very meaty and that the breakfast was cooked to perfection with none of the grease that can often be present. They also serve a full range of hot drinks so I was able to select a decaf latte. The menu includes some sandwich-type options and there were a few scones etc. for those who don't have our appetites. Service was fast for us. We arrived soon after they opened so only about 4 tables were already filled, so I cannot speak to service speed when they are busy, but they looked to have plenty of staff on duty. We settled on Martha's as it looked liked it had the best homemade pastry. Mind your head as like a lot of the older establishments (like centuries old), the ceiling is low. I had the Hot Chocolate with Marshmallow and Cream and my friend had tea with milk. We also ordered 2 different kinds of their house made scones, and those came with raspberry jam and clotted cream. The scones were great. They weren't sweet, so the went perfectly on it. When in England, you have to have the clotted cream with your scone. The scone has enough butter in it. They are really friendly here too! Hope we can come back again during our short stay here in the Cotswolds.
