Let me get this out now: I am a self-confessed crepe addict. I love them to pieces. I could quite possible life off them. So when I discovered this crepe van hidden in the corner of the University Parks, I was quite embarrassingly excited. It does savoury and sweet crepes, so you can go for lunch or just for a snack, and its location means you can nip in off the street, or laze around in the park enjoying your taste of heaven. Well, if it actually was a taste of heaven. All crepe are good crepes, but there's something very disappointing about a substandard one, and I'm afraid these just don't hit the target for me. The service is very quick, but the crepes are so thin that they burn easily. The portions are quite stingy, so you get a huge bit of dry, crispy crepe on the outside, then a bit of flavour in the middle. I've only tried the sweet crepes, but I imagine it's similar for the savoury ones. I had a chocolate one, which was okay, but hardly memorable, and a lemon and sugar one, which had lots of bottled lemon juice and sugar, but still didn't taste of much. IF you're after a really good crepe for a similar price, I'd head to the stand on Queen Street outside the Westgate centre. read more
