Went here with my Mum recently. The place had been recommended by some of her friends recently and…read moreI would recommend place too. Didn't realise until afterwards, but looking at their Instagram it only opened about 3 months ago. We didn't book a table and lucky to get a table as all the empty tables we saw when we walked in were all reserved. They sat us on a table for 6 which was free. Its a nice interior to the building, sort of Northern Quarter (Manchester) in feel with the vintage (I think called Edison) lightbulbs. The bathroom is nicely decorated with nice tiles etc - see my photos. The waitress suggested 2-3 tapas dishes per person. We ordered 7 in total. The menu is split into different sections of: Little bits Little plates Little sides Little lunch We ordered from the Little bits and Little plates section and they were fairly similar in size. We had the Artisan bread and the Crispy Squid from the Little bits section. From the Little Plates we got the: Chicken kiev Tempura cod cheeks Lamb rump Crispy Belly Pork - we ordered 2 of these and good job! All the dishes were really good. Some delicious. In particular the cod cheeks and belly pork. The lamb was tasty and tender. The only thing which was not at least really good was the chicken kiev - it was OK, just not really good. So I would recommend coming here if you are ever in the area. Or even not! Depending on time/day - you may want to book.

The aubergine dish was barely cooked and almost tasteless, three very modest sized prawns with…read moreunderripe tomatoes and flavourless mousse, hummus that barely tasted of garlic... late arriving and seriously underwhelming for the money.

Shrewsbury has some fascinating architecture with streets that have an almost medieval feel. So…read morewith the great reviews and the atmospherics we were already in a good mood when we went into the restaurant for the first time. We were not disappointed - eating in Spain regularly we have become wary of so called Tapas UK style which never fails to fail but Casa Naranjo is the real deal. We have eaten here three times now and it has been good every time, our go to restaurant when in Shrewsbury now. Having now had everything on the perfectly sized menu it is hard to pick out favourites but the boquerones, croquetas and ox cheeks are my top three. Food is definitely fresh with real flavours that only come from careful preparation and cooking with the right ingredients. Very much the feel of a genuine Spanish restaurant to back up the genuine food with friendly professional staff and perfectly paced service. The menu has something for everyone - it is online and worth having a look. Portions are generous but not overwhelming and the freshness of everything throughout the meal is a testament to their commitment to really delicious and tasty food. Most of the customers look like regulars we were made to feel as if we were too- but not in an artificial way. Everyone who was here looked like they really wanted to be here, customers and staff - brisk, knowledgeable, attentive, cheerful and pleasantly efficient. Spotlessly clean throughout. Prices are exactly right for what you are getting - again they are on the website, neither cheap nor expensive. But very good value. On the admin side - easy to get to but if you are not familiar with Shrewsbury use a map! Parking is easy - don't try the street [like us first time] 2 carparks nearby.
