Last night was our first visit to Cafe Maxsim, and it will not be our last. I don't often feel inspired enough to write a review, but our dining experience last night was so wonderful, I had to get it down. Firstly, as I've been a fan on the Cafe Maxsim page on Facebook for a few months now, I have had some excellent communication with the owners and was even given the opportunity to suggest a few 'special offers' that they might introduce. £19.99 for 5 dishes for 2 people, is a bargain!! And when you take in a bottle of wine, the bargain gets even sweeter. We were warmly greeted at the door by the owner and given a choice of two small, yet intimate tables. We chose the closest to the window. We were given our menu's and asked if we'd like water. And after 5 minutes, the lady returned with iced water and took our order; Greek Salad (genuinely Greek, really good feta), Olive and Rosemary Focaccia Bread (soft and very scrummy), Quesidilla wedges (cheesey melty goodness!), Seafood Saganaki (my fave dish of the night, calamari was delish, and the muscles were cooked to perfection), Polpette Senze Carne (mini mozzarella and parmesan fritters, my boyf's fave!). We were brought each dish slowly, and given plenty of time to eat each dish just like they do in the Med! It was brilliant!!
The food was perfect! Cooked in some wonderful flavours and to perfection...better than most Tapas I've eaten abroad! Very high compliments to the Chef!!
We ended our night with the traditional Tirimasu...and again, perfect! Stoked in alcohol, creamy and very moreish!
I would recommend this cafe/restaurant to couples or to anyone craving the Med food! Well done Cafe Maxsim!! read more
