A tale of 2 reviews for this place.
3 stars from Wolves Councils Scores on the doors so good hygiene standards in the kitchen.
My partner and I were invited for a Saturday night birthday party so decided to check it out during the week.
Our first night, a Wednesday, was a surprise it turns out the entertainment is only on weekends, so, a little surprised we gave it a go anyway.
We tried the meze, which is an insane amount of food that no normal human beings could possibly finish small portions but lots of them. The service was the usual attentive without being overbearing that one would expect on a quiet Wednesday night and all in all a satisfactory evening.
Then we went on Saturday and it was like being in a totally different place! We had ordered from the set 3 course menu in advance, the food was pretty decent with the exception of the kleftiko, which was amazing, absolutely perfect.
The same attentive without being overbearing staff from Wednesday were now in full party mode flirting with hens on their hen nights (and their grandmothers too!), cajoling people into belly dancing with a professional belly dancer, leading a conga half way down the main road, dancing on the tables (I kid you not) with us before the birthday girls and hens all got dressed up in belly dancing costumes to perform. On the tables, again.
The plate smashing was actually a clay disc being spun into a wooden box (insurance reasons) the manager said but to be honest it was no big deal considering the craziness of the whole evening.
Want a big, cheap feed and great service? Have a meze on a Wednesday. Want a crazy night of bedlam? Go at the weekend.
All in all, a very good part of Wolverhampton's evening economy and highly recommended. read more
