We went to the Blue Chilli on a Saturday night with friends as part of a birthday meal. Having heard really good things about it we were looking forward to it. We went in and ordered some drinks as our table was not ready yet, the man and women behind the bar did not understand English so when I asked to pay for the drinks straight away instead of them being added onto the food as we were eating with friends so wanted to keep drinks separate they did not understand. Having looked at the menu they tried to advise if we ordered the set menu (£22.95 per person, minimum 2 persons) we would get our food faster than everyone else. I personally did not want anything off the set menu and at £22.95 each it did not appeal to me as I did not think it was worth it. I had the thai red curry and it was like soup, not even a thick soup, it was extremely watery and not very much meat. at all and swimming in fat. I had the pork and it was like thin sandwich pork roll that you can buy from the supermarket at 50p per pack! I was not impressed. Portion sizes considering how you much pay was also ridiculous, we went away feeling hungry and to me if you are having an expensive meal I do not want to go away feeling hungry! Overall I would not recommend the Blue Chilli and will not be returning. read more
