Sink into one of the cozy chairs and watch the traffic pass yet at the same time feeling, as if perhaps, you are somewhere else? It was busy, so you could tell that it is a popular spot. It is set on the river that runs through the village so you can enjoy your breakfast while the water slowly flows by you. This area and the cafe are beautiful. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Even though they were very busy, they showed no signs of being annoyed or overwhelmed. They seemed genuinely happy you were there and eager to make sure you were happy with your stay. We ordered the sausage rolls and a Cornish pastry and they were very good. I'm sure there are a lot of amazing restaurants in the place, but you would not go wrong stoping by here to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

I had 30 minutes to kill over lunch so ordered a chicken and bacon sandwich with a side of chips and a cup of tea. Service was OK. I'd have appreciated a bit more warmth as a stranger to the place. It would have scored an extra point had staff made more effort. Seems more like a 'regulars' kinda place. They seemed a bit overstaffed to me, so no excuse really. The sandwich was excellent really: nice, proper chicken breast sliced, along with decent non-fatty bacon pieces, soft white sliced bread and an OK, jar supplied Mayo - for the price it would be daft to expect own-made. I'd give it a 8/10 in context. It wasn't just a mix from a large tub bought at the wholesalers. The chips were just about OK too. They were the frozen style ones, not proper sliced potato, so very bland, and probably would have benefited from an extra few minutes in the fryer. The tea was fine, but I was in a bit of a rush by the time it had cooled down so only finished half of it. There were papers to read, which was a nice bonus. No one said goodbye when I left.

Their menu has a great variety to satisfy whatever you may be crazing, but not too much that it's overwhelming. The staff is kind and accommodating, their smiling faces are always ready to welcome you whether you are a regular or a first time visitor. My personal favourite food is the personal pizza. They just got a new oven, so it takes even less time to cook it to perfection. But I've had many different things from their menu and have yet to have a bad meal.
