@foodie_starry Just discovered Tart-Da in Jersey City, and I'm obsessed! Their tarts come in six delicious flavors, but the Uji Matcha Tart stands out with its rich flavor compared to the subtler Black Sesame Tart. For puddings, I went with the Pistachio Oolong--what a treat! A perfect blend of oolong tea base, pistachio paste, and generous chunks of pistachios. Also tried the Black Sesame and Matcha Jasmine Puddings, both a delight. And if you're looking for a thoughtful gift or a party treat, their chocolates are a must-try. Choose from the luxurious Dubai series with options like Pistachio, Black Sesame, and Hazelnut, or the classic varieties including Almond, Cashew, and Macadamia. The tarts are perfect for an afternoon tea break, especially if paired with a good cup of tea--freshly made daily, best enjoyed on the day of purchase. The puddings and chocolates are great for gifting, and they can be stored in the fridge for a week. Good news for tart lovers: Tart-Da is now open daily, not just on weekends. Go treat yourself to these heavenly desserts--absolutely delicious!

Pistachio Tart and Matcha Basque Cheesecake

Tart-Da offers perfectly portioned pick-me ups. The desserts offer more in flavor than sugar. The matcha basque cheesecake used an intense portion of matcha, balancing the fat from the cream cheese with the earthy flavor from the matcha. The pistachio tart was light and a perfect single portion. The location is in a tiny space with a window cold display case. They also keep more desserts in the back, so don't fret if it looks like they are running out. Although the staff was very busy, they were friendly and helped to guide us as half of the space and self-service POS systems are for the tea shop. You have to order the desserts at the counter. The prices are reasonable for the quality. My friend said the mochi was decadent and since she wolfed it down, I'll probably check it out next time I'm in the area. They have an excellent deal of 6 tarts for something like $25. This would be a perfect option to bring to a small gathering or if you want to try one of each!

I have never seen anything quite like Aux Merveilleux de Fred. What an absolute delight! Not only…read moreare the desserts incredible, but the employees were so friendly and pleasant to deal with as well. The star of the show is, of course, the Merveilleux. It's made with light, airy meringue and whipped cream, then covered in chocolate shavings. It somehow manages to be rich and delicate at the same time. I can see why it's their signature dessert. They offer different flavors and sizes too, from mini versions to larger cakes that are perfect for sharing. One of the coolest parts of visiting is that the kitchen is completely open. You can watch the pastry chefs assembling these beautiful creations right in front of you. It's mesmerizing and makes the whole experience feel special. The bakery has roots in Northern France and Belgium, where the Merveilleux originated, but pastry chef Frédéric Vaucamps reinvented the classic recipe to make it lighter and more modern. Whatever he did worked because these pastries are unforgettable. A quick tip: cash only, so come prepared. Honestly, if you're anywhere nearby, I think you need to run there. Between the amazing desserts, the friendly staff, and the chance to watch everything being made fresh, it's one of the most enjoyable bakery experiences I've had in a long time. I know you won't be sorry!

Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a tiny, beautifully fragrant shop on 8th Ave. I ordered the cold brew black and it was one of the smoothest, most satisfying first cups of the day I've had in a long time. Finding genuinely good black cold brew in this city is harder than it should be, and this one hit the spot so perfectly I made a second solo trip before sundown. The chocolate and almond croissant was delicate, flaky, and exactly what a croissant should be. The shop itself is small, no indoor seating, but two benches out front! The staff was warm and the whole place smells incredible the moment you walk in. I've already earmarked the Cramique for my next visit, because if it's anywhere near as good as everything else, I'm in trouble. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

The inside is nice too but feels a bit stuffy. The croque Madame which is made with turkey and not ham which was super lucky for me was absolutely delicious. And even though it looks small on the plate it was very filling. The eggs was also perfect. The macarons were absolutely delicious. However for $5 for one you would expect less cracks. Service was also great. If you're looking for a high end brunch experience I would definitely recommend.

This place is known for their macarons, I do not eat them but this location has a full on menu. I had a latte which comes with the Laduree logo on top and the latte was very good. Honestly, better than my meal. Which, by the way if you want to dine in it's a $35.00 min per person per table. Before I read this I was just thinking about going ti get a coffee and sit in the outside garden area. I was wrong. I ended up getting eggs Benedict with bacon. It came on a brioche bread which, I never had before. Usually, this dish comes on an english muffin. It was good and had the sauce on the side. The eggs itself come as two legit hard boiled eggs on top which, I had never seen before. Was it worth the price...ehh not really, but did have a nice waiter who took my allergies seriously and wrote them all down. Yes, I am glad I came to check it out, do I need to come back here though not really, unless I came for like a tea with some friends than maybe we would see.

Welcome to the bakery that openly takes advantage of its customers!…read more After dining at a nearby restaurant, we were in the mood for French pastries and decided to stop by Sweet Rehab. The display of desserts looked beautiful and inviting. However, we noticed there were no prices listed, which made us slightly uneasy. Though we assumed the pricing would be comparable to similar establishments. Since we weren't very hungry, we ordered one dessert to share. The employee behind the counter suggested that one would not be enough and recommended adding two more. We agreed and asked for her suggestions. She pointed out two options, which we ordered. When we decided to dine in, we were told that a drink purchase was required so we added a pot of tea. The desserts were nothing memorable. The real shock came when we received the bill; it cost more than our dinner earlier. We later realized that the two items recommended to us were among the most expensive. Overall, the experience felt disappointing and left us with the impression that upselling was prioritized over transparency. Clear pricing and more straightforward recommendations would have made for a much better customer experience.
