Heard about this spot opening and went to visit while on a walk around the hood. Kiosk ordering. Teas are where you enter, bakery items on the right. Not too much seating. Not a spot for remote work. Ordered a couple items and drink. Waited a bit but not too long for the drink. Overall clean and pretty interior. Decent pastries and normal tea selection, slightly more upper crust than other bubble tea spots and good service. NYC prices in Jersey City. Wish they had a bit more selections for both teas and pastries.

Glad to see all the new dessert places popping up in the journal square area. Came for the mibu, which is a rice drink. I got the jasmine mibu which has jasmine tea mixed in. You can customize the level of sweetness and ice for the drink. The bottom of the drink is filled with sticky rice. The tea flavor was also very strong. The interior is large with plenty of seating. Very calming aesthetic. Seems like a nice place to catchup with a friend, also super close to the path station. Service for the drinks can be a little slow especially if crowded.

Rich matcha ice cream is pretty easy to find in the city, but camellia is totally unheard of! This new Chinese tea specialty cafe is raising the bar for tea spots in Jersey City. If you're coming from across the river, the tea ice cream alone justifies the trek. Tea-forward, fragrant, and not too sweet. You can literally see how rich it is from the deep green color. They are also bringing the viral sunflower egg tarts to JC, probably the first in the area. The cafe is spacious, aesthetic, and just a 5-minute walk from Journal Square PATH. So excited to have this gem right in my neighborhood. *Matcha / Camellia Tea Ice Cream 抹茶/山茶花冰淇淋 $5.95 ** MUST TRY!!!! I was especially blown away by the camellia tea flavor. So floral, fragrant, and aromatic. *Sunflower Egg Tart 太陽花蛋撻 $4.5 A jiggly, thick layer of egg custard nestled in napoleon style puff pastry. The custard was creamy, and the pastry was flaky, but I found it too oily at the bottom. *Fragrant Rice Tea Lemonade 糯香檸檬茶 $7.5 * *Fragrant Rice Tea Latte 糯米香葉厚乳茶 $6.25 *Little Red Bottle 小紅瓶 $8 *Little Green Bottle 小綠瓶 $8 Most of their drinks are roasted with glutinous rice, giving a subtle rice flavor, and I could really taste it! They're best known for their "Rice Mibu" drinks, which were unfortunately sold out when I went... And I can't believe I'm saying this, but they weren't kidding when they said "NOT TOO SWEET" lol. Even at 70% sugar, it wasn't sweet at all.

We ordered the Jasmine Green tea which included a buy one get one free promo we came. To get different teas for the promo you need to order from the person at the front desk. The milk teas were quite good. The place was quite busy but they had a lot of staff. We had about 10 people ahead of us and it took about 10ish minutes to get our order. The store ambiance is quite nice with chill music and a nicely lit upscale vibe.

DDL is elite. They have it all. Fantastic pastries, cakes and sandwiches. Great coffees. Spacious,…read moreclean and cozy seating. Friendly and helpful staff. Super affordable prices. I've never eaten anything that I didn't like. My faves are: milhojas, breakfast croissant sandwich, and any and every cake with dulce de leche filling. I only tiny, minuscule complaint I have about this place is the lack of signage for the pastries and cakes. It would be nice to know what I'm looking at without having the ask. Absolutely zero gatekeeping here. Please everyone keep patronizing this establishment. I need this place to continue to exist in my hood.

The cake here is very good! Super moist, and the frosting is light and fluffy when ordered fresh…read more Unfortunately the 2 cupcakes I got, both alfajores and the chocolate covered one too were stale, like super hard and dry. So get anything fresh, like made to order cakes or things you see come out right when you're there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting old stuff, which sucks that they don't manage that at all. On a Sunday afternoon lines moved quickly and we were able to find seats. This is a cute cafe that offers plenty of savory items and lunches, plus drinks like matcha, cakes, pastries and cookies. There is also a bathroom! The women behind the counter were all nice and patient with my questions, they also kept the line moving and were quick. I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing. Never had anything like that before. Not too sweet and very flaky. It has a ribbon of red on the outside which gives it a unique look. I would love to come back and try savory items. I'll continue to stick with the cakes and croissants for desert and make sure it's fresh!
