Ube Latte Croissant (~$8), Strawberry Monkey Bread (~$7), Biko Danish (~$7), Chicken Sisig Danish (~$9)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Ube Latte Croissant (~$8): coffee pastry cream, ube infused dough, ube ganache Biko Danish (~$7): sticky rice, coconut caramel, whipped cream Strawberry Monkey Bread (~$7): croissant pieces, strawberry cream cheese frosting, and cake crumble Rendang Croissant (~$11): shredded beef, coconut, palapa Chicken Sisig Danish (~$9): onion, chili, egg, herb salad, calamansi honey vinaigrette Aya's take: A specialty bakery hates to see me coming let alone a Filipino one which I don't see often! Panaderya Salvaje is fusing traditional Filipino flavors with French-style pastry techniques. It's super small on the inside and designed more as a grab & go spot. We got here right around opening (8am) on a Saturday and luckily there wasn't a line yet but there were a handful of people who had already ordered. Out of everything we ordered, my favorites were the Biko Danish & Chicken Sisig Danish. These two were unreal! The Biko Danish is unlike anything I've had before with the sticky rice being perfectly cooked, not overly sticky or gummy, and the coconut caramel was so rich & tasty but messy to eat! You basically can't put it down until it's done otherwise the coconut caramel will spill out. The Chicken Sisig Danish was savory in all the right ways. The egg on top was cooked perfectly and soaked into the danish and chicken. The herb salad was a much-needed freshness on top and cut through a lot of the savoriness. We didn't have a bad bite here honestly but those were my 2 favorites. The Ube Latte Croissant is their classic and I will say it's super heavy and sweet but I was a big fan of the coffee pastry cream and they do not skimp out! The ube ganache was a bit too thick & rich for my liking but again, I didn't mind. The Rendang Croissant was also great but the palapa was slightly overpowering with the various aromatics. I enjoyed it but a little goes a long way, in my opinion. Their Strawberry Monkey Bread is one of the softest, lightest, and not sweet versions I've had and the strawberry was just right. They rotate their menu often so I would definitely come back when I'm back in the area and something on their menu catches my eye!

Easily the best ube latte croissant of my life--just look at that glorious amount of coffee cream filling!! I was so excited to check out this new-ish Filipino bakery in Downtown Jersey City. They have an incredible line-up of sweet and savory pastries inspired by classic Filipino flavors. Everything was soooo good that it was hard to pick a favorite! Their pastries sell out quickly, and the weekend line can get long. My pro tips: go early if there's something specific you want, and check their stories for the daily menu and stock updates! *Ube Latte Croissant $8 This is their signature croissant, and it truly lives up to the hype! The lamination was beautiful and the layers were incredibly flaky. The ube white chocolate ganache gave it such a strong ube flavor, and the coffee pastry cream was so rich I literally licked up the last bit. *Longanisa Sausage Roll$8 Longanisa tastes a lot like chorizo, but it's sweeter and noticeably garlicky. The puff pastry had a lovely caramelized flavor that paired perfectly with it. I'd definitely get this again. *Beer Caramel Cake $8 I'm not usually a caramel girl, but the beer-infused caramel totally converted me! It tasted amazing with the whipped mascarpone and vanilla sponge. I just wish there was more raspberry jam for a more tangy flavor. *Kare Kare Croissant $11 Inspired by the traditional filipino stew kare-kare, this savory croissant was stuffed to the max!! The beef filling had rich peanut-y, coconut-y flavors, and the crushed peanuts added the perfect crunch. I know the price is steep, but it's so well-crafted and filling that it really feels worth it.

This is a cute café, and worth the stop in when there is not a line wrapping around the block. It smelled so buttery and inviting when walking in. There is a limited amount of pastries available a day and a small selection. They usually always have a croissant, brownie and the paiya. I had the ube paiya and a monkey bread that was made of croissant pieces and young coconut on the top. The monkey bread was light, flaky and buttery. I liked it a lot. The ube paiya tasted like a pound of sugar, it was way too sweet. The prices for some things are too expensive, they have a pineapple croissant that is $9. I rarely spend $9 on a breakfast pastry. It is definitely like a once in a while treat, it would be hard to justify going to this place everyday. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, you can tell they love what they do and are very passionate about it. No space to sit inside, very small but there are two benches and a couple of chairs outside. It's a to go place. Stop in to try something unique!

Got here at 7:30am on a Saturday and there were only a handful of people ahead of us. Small spot with limited seating, mainly grab-and-go. I tried one of everything, and these stood out: * Tocino & Cheese Croissant - savory, with bacon baked into the layers * Ube Latte Croissant - rich and custardy * Tablea Brownie - dense and rich, but pricey at $7 * Coffee Croissant Loaf - great pull-apart style; perfect for sharing or portioning * Calamansi Olive oil Cake - pound cake with lemon meringue Ones I'd skip next time: * Ube Piaya - nothing special * Dinakdakan Pot Pie - not my taste, though the chili oil kick was nice Overall: Worth it if the line is under 30 minutes and anything on the menu spikes your interest.

Savory items were delicious My friend had to line up before opening to have a pick at the selection

Picked up this ube pastry to try it out and it was very good. The place was busy when I visited. Staff was cool! They got a good assortment of pastries. You'll find something here to like!

So good & worth the hype! I love their ube piaya and kare kare croissant! I definitely recommend to go early since they typically sell out and longer wait to get your baked goods/coffee!

Lines outside lines inside things, you have to do to get the flaky ube crossiant. Every bite just a big crisp and filling just over flowing. The cake is a little dry but no need to deduct a star, because the flavor made up for it. Price is so kind too especially with the amount of filling.

It is a cute little Filipino bakery and the staff are friendly. The pastries are delicious, and they are not too sweet. My favorite was the ube piaya and pandan & fig pastry. Their Ube croissants are only sold on the weekends. I happened to stop by on Wednesday and their did not have them.

Fantastic pastries with Filipino flavors! My favorites were the kaldereta & ube latte croissants.

Great food and very friendly staff. I got the ube piaya and chicken sisig kolache and both were flavorful and reasonably priced. I was hoping to try the ube latte croissant, but it wasn't on the menu when I went, so I'll have to come back soon! And while everyone was so nice, I will say the lines are pretty long for a grab and go service. Hopefully it's just part of the growing pains of a new spot.

Matcha Muscovado, olive oil calamansi cake, and the pot pie (dinakdakan)

I went when there was no line, which probably made my experience smoother than most (as I don't think it's worth it with a wait!) I wouldn't trek from NYC just for this like someone else did in the reviews. Jersey City doesn't exactly have a wealth of standout bakeries, so the bar here is lower by default (Radio Bakery, Dominique Ansel, Somedays, etc. are in another league entirely). The pot pie was a miss--it was basically a cup of pork fat....No real meat, just really greasy and heavy. The calamansi meringue thing was... fine. Too sweet because of the meringue, not balanced. Since I live nearby I would come here again but I think what happens in JC is that because options are limited, people start hyping anything that's even halfway decent. By that measure, sure, this place is "better than average." But better than average in JC doesn't mean you should wait 30 min in line for it. (I was lucky and didn't have a wait)

I've never eaten anything that I didn't like. My faves are: milhojas, breakfast croissant sandwich, and any and every cake with dulce de leche filling. I only tiny, minuscule complaint I have about this place is the lack of signage for the pastries and cakes. It would be nice to know what I'm looking at without having the ask. Absolutely zero gatekeeping here. Please everyone keep patronizing this establishment. I need this place to continue to exist in my hood.

So get anything fresh, like made to order cakes or things you see come out right when you're there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting old stuff, which sucks that they don't manage that at all. On a Sunday afternoon lines moved quickly and we were able to find seats. This is a cute cafe that offers plenty of savory items and lunches, plus drinks like matcha, cakes, pastries and cookies. There is also a bathroom! The women behind the counter were all nice and patient with my questions, they also kept the line moving and were quick. I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing. Never had anything like that before. Not too sweet and very flaky. It has a ribbon of red on the outside which gives it a unique look. I would love to come back and try savory items. I'll continue to stick with the cakes and croissants for desert and make sure it's fresh!
