Micro Target with Macro Prices. Seriously - if you're an avid Target shopper, you'll quickly realize that the body wash you're using to paying $5 for is listed for $8+ here - with six cents added on for emphasis. Since DC property tax is high, I think corporate probably rolled the expenses onto the customers (side eye). Make sure you price match folks! Being that it is a micro Target, you won't find the same wide range of products as you would in "normal-sized" Target, but that's probably a good thing. Let's be honest - Target has always been the 'I came here for two things but left with 25' type of place. Overall, it's cool to have a Target in DC/Silver Spring, but understand that won't likely give you all the feels a normal Target run does...it's a little watered down. read more

I always order online through their app and pickup using their convenient drive up option...truly a game changer and time saver. On this particular visit however, an item was missing. I called and spoke with Alma and she was able to collect my missing item to bring out to me once I came back. I didn't have to go through a back and forth with anyone or argue about anything which can be a problem with other business sometimes when an issue occurs with an order. Alma was a breath of fresh air with her stellar customer service and even went back inside to grab a coupon for a further visit. It's positive experiences like this that make my day. I like Target a lot, but who doesn't? They typically have everything I need, so it can be a "one stop shop" if I want it to be. And, this location is so cool. It is one of Target's new micro-store concepts. It's has a small footprint but is packed with lots of great stuff and all the essentials one would need. You can find anything you want here from groceries to household supplies to clothes and anything you want. They carry almost all the brands including their private label brand, called Up & Up. Personally speaking, the prices are higher as compared to Walmart but the experience makes up for it. St this location, I noticed the lines are usually smaller and it's easy to find an assistant to help. The only downside is there is no Pizza Hut and Starbucks like most larger Target stores....so you can't get your caffeine or eat on while shopping. Overall, this a great store.! Its bright, open and full of everything!! The Staff is friendly too. Restrooms are clean and nice. Fitting rooms are available and clean for a small store. I will day I notice the store is limited on men's clothing, but well appointed with clothing items for women. My niece started her first year at Howard and we were able to get everything she would need for her dorm room; at this location including furniture.....a desk, office chair, TV stand, and a futon...ALL this in such a small space! In all, I really dig this Target location. There is ample parking located in the back of the store and it seems never crowded. Just don't quote me by that if you come during the weekend like a Saturday. With such a small store (micro) concept, I am sure things can get a little hectic during peak business hours....which I avoid anyway! read more

While this is a micro Target, it's deceptively larger than it looks. They have a small grocery/frozen foods section, so if you are looking for something that is on sale in their weekly ad, you may not find it here. The pet food section is limited. I was sad to see they don't carry Luna Bars, my favorite. They have Clif Bars and Lara Bars, but no Luna. Employees are super cheerful. The store is bright and clean (should be because it's brand new). The parking lot is shared with Morris Miller, the only other tenant in this building. They should be happy because it will bring them more business (like me). I love this new location because it's practically walking distance from me. Parking lot entrance is off Kalmia with more than two dozen spots. While it doesn't have everything other Targets have, I'll be a loyal customer here. read more

I like this Target small-format store. I can usually grab what I need and be in and out quickly without taking any meandering turns or getting distracted by things that are not on my shopping list. The store features a small grocery section, a CVS pharmacy, and a range of items for the household. I find it useful to order ahead and pick up my purchases at the store if I think the store might run out of one or more items that I need. Payment is by self-checkout only, which is more efficient than a cashier-run checkout lane. Parking is available in the rear of the store. read more

This location is very small. Has the basic needs but don't expect to find a large verity of home decor items if you just moved.

At least one self checkout is always broken. Constant problems with inventory. One week they have the regular product stocked. The next week it's out. I guess they have problems with theft because soap is now kept behind plexiglass. Soap. You have to wait for an employee to give you bar soap. Just use Amazon. read more

To have a Target so close by is really convenient, albeit it is a small store. However, the grocery area has a frozen section, produce area and some prepared foods. It also has CVS Pharmacy inside. As for accessibility, the parking lot is off of Kalmia Road NW which is behind Target and adjacent to Morris Miller Wines and Liquors. So if you are coming from Silver Spring, you will pass Target and make a right on Alaska Avenue NW and another right onto Kalmia Road NW. The parking lot entrance is on the right. The parking lot only has one handicap spot right in front of the store. The ADA ramp is to the left of the handicap spot, so you will have to pass behind several vehicles to reach the ramp, which isn't ideal. There is another ramp where the bike rack is located but it is not ADA as it is a steeper climb. There are photos showing the two ramp locations. The entrance to the store has automatic sliding power doors. To access the grocery section of the store, you will have to go up a ramp that is adjacent to the checkout area by the parking entrance. The accessible restrooms are located up the ramp towards the back down a hall. The restrooms require a code to enter so you will need to contact a store clerk. read more

Went in for a return this morning. My experience sucked because i was in a good mood until this. While waiting at the 2nd register of the return, pickup order area, some one walked up and asked to be checked out. The rep agreed and proceeded to checkout the person as if I was not standing in the return section to actually do a return. So I said hello I'm standing here and the rep says but I talked to her. Then I said but I'm actually doing a return in the return section. I was then told I had to wait. The customer then said you can do her I'm not in a rush. She ignored the customer proceeded with the checkout. After the checkout I was waiting for the rep to tell me to step over to her register and she said I'm waiting over here ( with an attitude). I stepped over to her register and asked why are you acting like this and to be nice. She said yea whatever and returned my item and shoved the receipt at me saying here (with an attitude). I said thanks and left. The rep was mean for no reason early in the morning!! She kinda hurt my feelings. This store sucks. read more

I went in the bathroom with a basket because I forgot no merchandise is allowed in the bathroom. So when I first got in the store it looked like I was stealing cuz I put the stuff in my bag instead of a basket. But then one of the employees said I still had items I didn't purchase in my bag when I didn't...so I started yelling and used profanity because I told the male employee I clearly left the basket on the floor with all the items I picked up and didn't purchase. Security came told him to leave me alone and I was still yelling profanities and yelling out how ridiculous it is I got accused of stealing my own black coat and all the items I clearly bought from Five Below! To hell with this target and their racial profiling...I will stick with my local Target in Columbia Heights!! If you are black and you come in with any large bags like I did don't be surprised if you get accused of stealing too!!! According to their employees we are all thieves...horrible customer service and this store is a disastrous mess, utterly chaotic and an absolute nightmare!!!! read more

Don't expect this to be like your typically large target because it's not -- it's a target in the city! Went into this target to see their Halloween section. And the store had NOTHING. IT looked like the store was going there re modeling. There was a whole section taped off with nothing in it. Complete waste of time. Sad I have to go to Columbia Heights to shop which isn't near my house read more

Terrible experience at this location on 01/02/2023 around 3pm walked in to get a gift bags. Store had no employees on the floor one employee. Waited 10 minutes to get the manager come( never did come down from their " meeting " to authorize change back from my transaction. Poor customer service, no care was giving. Employee gave me my change back from her pocket after having me wait 10-15 minutes waiting. There 3 managers on the clock but one one came down to help. read more

I have only been to this store one time as it is not usually near the part of to town I'm driving around. This particular day I was done working and was on a mission to find a favorite snack when it comes to fun outdoor activity time for my 2 grandchildren. I am talking about peanut and jelly Uncrustables! They had been hard to find lately. This Target has a small parking lot with a few customer pick up spots in front. It's also bigger than it looks from the outside. The grocery area with the coolers and freezers is in the right rear corner of the store. I looked but could not find the Smucker's Uncrustables. Then I asked an employee near by who was getting a customer's order together for help. We looked where he knew it to be. It was not there so he checked his my device only to discover that the peanut butter & jelly ones were out of stock with none on order. So I looked for the Birch Benders Keto frozen waffles. They were $0.30 more here than at other targets but I got them anyway as we're out of them at home. My grandchildren love to eat them for breakfast. I'm extremely excited for this new Target in close proximity to Silver Spring. My wife and I visited and were pleased by the cleanliness, selection, and cordial employees. The location is not huge, but there is a good variety of options from most departments. The exception might be clothing but there are still a decent number of essentials/core products available. The two biggest sections of the store are 1) groceries and 2) a CVS pharmacy. It's great that there is another grocery option in the neighborhood and prices aren't too terribly expensive. The pharmacy portion of the store is quite extensive and offers lots of vitamins/supplements, hygiene, etc. type products. The store also has a great layout that's really thought out for shoppers' convenience. There are doors in the front and back with self checkouts available in both locations. This location does not replace the full-on big box experience of a larger target but does offer a smaller neighborhood equivalent that's quite convenient. read more

Khalid should be removed from the sales floor. He should have 0 interactions with customers. He lacks the decorum, professionalism and verbiage to deal with humans. These are very trying times and basic listening skills are essential. He fosters an atmosphere of conflict and an adversarial relationship with customers. I hope the very negative team atmosphere I witness under his leadership this evening does not become the norm. I have never ever had an issue here prior to this. I am not sure why this national emergency has emboldened him into some type of power play but rest assured Khalil the days of folks scouring for hand sanitizers will come to an end. During COVID-19 pandemic, seems as though this location has increased security. When you walk in the door you are greeted by no less than 4 security guards on a Saturday morning. Very uncomfortable, very unnecessary. While there, witnessed of the security guards get into it with a customer because they are literally staring you down. Will not visit this location again. Do better about heavy handed security. In terms of products, this is a micro Target, limited selection, higher prices. Only visit this place in a crunch. read more

Opening day for this Target! It's a great medium sized Target in Silver Spring. There is a pharmacy, market, and a clothing section (small but still). It was clean and had a self check out section as well as cashiers. The parking lot is a bit smaller but I think most folks will walk here anyway. I'm so excited to have a Target close by! It's shiny and new and sparkly clean with stoked shelves and the bright light combo of targets gorgeous fluorescents plus natural light FROM OUTSIDE. I only come to this location because it is the closest to my house but honestly my experiences there have made me feel really uncomfortable. Every time I go to this location, the security and or some staff members follow me around and make me feel like some kind of crook. It's really frustrating because it hasn't only happened once or twice but damn near every time. I ordered something to be delivered to the store, after multiple delays on the part of target they canceled my order and did not inform me. I finally went in to check on it and they said after a week they cancel it, even though it was only two days after the most recent email notifying me of another delay. Target customer service sent me the fedex info and it has been delivered to the store nearly two weeks earlier. Don't ship anything to this store. read more

Although this is a small Target, I find myself coming here repeatedly. It is always clean and the staff is very helpful and kind, especially Chandler, who greeted us the moment she saw us and ensured that we had everything that we were looking for. I greatly appreciate her service and I hope that when we return, we find that the rest of the staff is as pleasant as she was.
