This happened in Feb - March, 2023. My review was left using a wrong account so I am reposting this review , warning people about the dark sides of target. Below it is: This review is not just for this local store but for the Target Corp. Target is basically the worst place to shop. They have their system configured to easily double scan the same item. So if you don't pay enough attention, you will end up with paying the same item twice. It happened to me three times recently in March 2023. Fixing it would cost you time to wait at self checkout. If double scan occurred at a cashiers station (this happened to me too) and you find it out after you paid, you would have to go customer services to get the refund. That could be a long wait. So target gets nothing to lose if an item got double scanned and customers didn't notice. Of course, we as consumers just got ripped off if we pay the same item twice. Other stores at self checkout would not let the scan continue if the item was not placed down on the scanned item counter. Examples are Costco, Ralphs, Walmart, Albertsons, etc. I hope everyone pays attention to your receipts to avoid double payment to the same item. If you could avoid shopping at target, it may be a smart decision. Also, Target is famous to help scammers by enabling their gift card balance to be immediately available for scammers to use. The scammer explained why they wanted target or Gamestop gift card but not Walmart ones so it was fast for them to cash out without much traceability. I am also a Target gift card scam victim due to my own stupidity. I didn't have the courage to write this up last year. Please don't buy any gift card if you are asked to pay back something in the form of gift cards. That is 100% of scam because there is no easy way to track down scammers who used the gift cards you bought. Target absolutely will not help scam victims to track scammers down, even though they have surveillance videos and gift card use times and locations to do it. They intentionally but indirectly help scammers. The purpose is to help their sales. You can search target gift card scam ( as a term) to see what comes up in google. To add insult to injuries, I also went through an ordeal for one thousand dollar gift card I purchased but did not give the codes to the scammer. Gift card purchases are not returnable. My two $500 gift cards either got balance 0 or had error code that I couldn't use it. I picked up items and tried to check out but the card couldn't be used so the items had to be suspended. When checking balance at the customer services, it did show $500. I have the images in the attachment. I had to call and email customer services so many times. It wasted so much time to deal with this. Most gift card customer service reps will kick you like a ball and do not really want to help you. There was one customer service rep who had integrity and helped me to get my money back. In the process of getting my money back, I found through customer services that some one was also claiming one of the $500 cards, though they would not tell me who. I had the receipt but that person didn't. I am guessing that I tried to use my "damaged" (not sure why it got damaged, probably intentionally by Target system?) cards several times through target employees. I suspect that they ( who are young with good memories) remembered the number and the pin so tried to claim that it was theirs? I am not sure but it was a possibility. I will not forget the ordeals for many years. I LOVEEEE Target, but I couldn't help but review this location regarding my last 2 visits. Recently, a guy approached my mom and I aggressively COMPLETELY AT RANDOM saying stuff about how I'm sinister, evil, going to hell, etc! He was just blabbering on and making no sense. He kept stepping closer so I started recording just in case. I have most of the altercation filmed. Mentally ill? Homeless? Druggie? Who knows.. but definitely not a fun experience to have while at a Target! We were in the little girls clothing section (creepy for him to be there alone, right?!) which is located right in front of the registers. No employees were around to stop it or do anything, but the guy scrambled out when I said I'm calling police. I posted the video on a local online forum and a few people who were in the store the same day said he also approached them. This is an experience I would expect from another big name store, but not Target! The next time I came in to this Target after that incident was at night. Bf and I had 2 hours to kill before our movie started at the nearby AMC theater. I can easily spend 2 hours in my fave store! The one and only entrance/exit was guarded by teens trying to sell stuff and ask for donations. Hopefully this night was just an off night, but I have never seen a Target so disorganized and trashy. Like I said, we had 2 hours to kill and walked around aaaaa lotttttt of aisles where we saw PLENTY of peoples trash on the shelves, products displayed messily or even on the floor, opened packages (food, makeup, toys - I wonder if many thefts occur at this location?), and items in aisles where they don't belong. It was very unappealing, considering that I always witness someone straightening everything out on the aisles at my main Target! Usually, I feel like there's a Target employee offering assistance at every corner, but didn't notice that here. I wasn't paying attention to the ladies next to me while I was browsing nail polish, but heard them gossiping about some girl who thinks she's all that. Turns out they were 2 employees who probably wouldn't have noticed if I swiped a whole row of Essie nail polish (I didn't!!). It makes me wonder what this guy who was in the men's toiletry aisle for AT LEAST 30 mins rummaging behind the shelves got away with?! I noticed an unattended cart containing cartons of milk, creamer, and other products that must be refrigerated. I noticed it in the same spot and still unattended before we left, so it had been out for at least an hour. Hopefully it wasn't there too long and doesn't cause someone tummy problems! I still love Target and will only go to this location if necessary, but don't expect the quality of your usual Targets here!! I think just avoiding targets in the Irvine and Tustin area is going to be my thing. After having a huge fail at The Marketplace location I came here to try to purchase what I left behind and failed yet again. Got to the counter, was rung up, presented my cartwheel app and was handed one $15 gift card (for the detergent that didn't qualify at the marketplace location), I spent a $100 not $50 so in my brain I should get two. So when I asked nicely why I only received one gift card the cashier replied with the I'm better than you basic white girl tone "why do you think you deserve two?" Whoa did I just get mommed by a 20 something?!? Yes I did, and no I did not like it. Me trying to keep my cool and not blurting out why do you think you can talk to people like that, I put my target card back in my wallet, cancelled the transaction and left the store. Seriously please train your employees on how to speak with customers. It's incredibly off putting to have some snotty 20 something speak to anyone like that. Also it would help to include better verbiage of how many gift cards your allowed per transaction. Last time this offer ran I was able to get the number of cards that matched the amount I spent - but that was in the amazing Westminster Mall location. This target sucks. Came here at opening and waited 3 min in the return line with another customer. Mgmt needs to do a better job with having the employees at their designated station/area before the doors open. The "so-called" manager, Yvette, come rushing up, says sorry. Other than that she doesn't have "customer service" skills. She doesn't smile, no eye contact, nor does she say thank you. She picks and chooses who she wants to be cheerful with. Sorry, but being in a customer service environment and esp having a manager title, she should be cheerful, genuine and polite across the board. Wow. This is probably the worst store in the Tustin/Santa Ana/Irvine/Foothill Ranch/Costa Mesa area when it comes to Guest Services... First, they only have one line. There's no separate order pickup line and returns line. Expect to wait a long time for the returns ppl in front of you, unless you're lucky and the desk is open when you enter the store. EVERY TARGET STORE I'VE SHOPPED AT have two lines, and they serve order pickups soooooo much faster. They have multiple people working through the line and you won't have to wait for more than 30 seconds. But not here!!! There's only one line so don't bother selecting store pickup for this location. Second, the manager guy that works at guest services needs to stop talking like a smartass. Not sure why he does it in the first place... maybe he treats his subordinates that way as well, who knows. But there's no need to talk to customers this way. We're not trying to pick a fight or argue about things. We come to guest services for whatever reason, sometimes we just have a question or two, we're not mean about it, deal with it because it's your job... there's no need to talk to people (paying customers) like we're stupid or like you're too good to be wasting time talking to us. If you don't want to talk to customers, maybe don't work at this desk?!?!?! I'm talking about the Caucasian man, shorter guy, skinny, higher pitched voice, short brown hair, with a very bad breath.... Please, brush your teeth every half hour and use mouthwash.... Or chew a new piece of gum every 15-20minutes. I needed a shower after speaking to him. His breath and spit got all over my face my shirt my hair my sunglasses......... This Target is pretty much a go-to Target if you live in the area. Granted it has the usual caveats that come with just about any Target. - Their Pharmacy is not that great and closes way earlier than the store. - Limited parking (unless you want to walk a mile) - Unfathomable prices on different sized items: A 57 pack of Tide pods was $18.99 (hmm) but a 72 pack of Tide pods was $17.99! Both regular priced, and I verified price on both. Shop carefully. - Not enough checkouts. Ever. When I went in 10:30. on a Friday, the day before Halloween they had 2, plus self check. Two!! This one store also features - Weird looking customers (Eek!) - Pretty nice Starbucks (was the first in the area, but check the hours) - Store open til Midnight! Yes! - Most items in stock, unlike many Targets. Yes you may still get unlucky. But probably not. - Usual grocery area and other Tarjayness And it's more bright and wide open (slightly bigger) than the one at the Marketplace (Jamboree) and the prices are sometimes better. It's not quite as big as the one at the Spectrum, but who the heck wants to deal with that if it's equidistant (as I usually am.) And Spectrum employees are worse. They'll close a register on you and walk away without saying a word! Anyway go here if you need a bunch of crap at Tarjay. If not, not so much... Score: 3.69 - always use protection (cart wipes). Located in The District At Tustin Legacy at Park & Tustin Ranch Rd. The front entrance is very clean and inviting. Once inside though, it is just so-so when it comes to clean and neat. This Target has a Which-Wich, have not seen this in other Targets, so I'm impressed. Merchandise is typical Target and the staff are friendly. It is right up/down (depends how you view it) from a Walmart (which is also a 3-Star IMHO). Need to shop at a Target for last-minute items, then visiting here is A-OK. Really frustrating that they want to lock up product in cases, however have no staff around to help and open said cases. I have been super patient with the lack of service I have gotten at this store and now I'm just blatantly upset. I have heard employees having personal conversations and cuss while customers (me) are right next to them and I have continuously needed to look for an associate to get help and end up leaving because no one seems to be working. The self check out is always long and they rarely have any one staffed to ring up long lines of customers. They also charge you for bags for online pick up but don't even give you a bag half the time or don't even refund you the bag fee when you ask them to? Your employees should be embarrassed for their behavior and lack of customer service skills / common sense. read more

I was waiting in the exchanges/returns/order pick up line when one of the employees, who finished assisting the person at their register, decided to help a lady who was lingering on the side of the line. She had an order pick when he decided to help her first instead of me (who was next in line) or telling her there was an existing line for all services. Since he helped her out, a separate line formed when it was clear the existing line was for exchanges/returns/order pick up. Because of this, I had to wait for the other employee to assist us. [COVID TIMES REVIEW] Like most other locations nowadays, they have convenient drive up pick ups available. USE THE TARGET APP IF YOU ARENT ALREADY! Even if you chose walk in pick up, you can change your mind on the app. You can let them know when you're on the way and when you get there. You let them know your car color and make, an identification # appears and a Target team member will verify the # and load up the goods in your trunk for you. This target is not abiding by the state policy for all patrons to wear masks. I saw at least 8 patrons not wearing masks, despite there being a sign on the entrance saying it was mandatory to do so. Management at the store said they were abiding by Tustin's policy and waiting on a mandate by the state before fully requiring masks.That mandate was announced a week ago and they're not following it. Protect your employees. Don't let a few Karens being disgruntled subject your staff to potential danger. read more

This Target is conveniently located in the Tustin District plaza, so it's possible to find almost everything that you need or spend an entire day in this plaza. They have everything from Lowes, Costco, TJ Max, Whole Foods, AMC, Lucilles, JT schmidt. plus all the other small restaurants in The Union. Compared to other targets I've been to, this one appears larger than other ones I've been to. This one also has a Which Wich sandwich shop inside, so if you're hungry look no further. If you're tired from shopping, they also have a Starbucks shop too for a pick me up. Staffers were typically busy stocking but open to questions if you need some help. I can't say much about the pharmacy, photo, or returns center yet. I'll come back to see if it's any different from other places. read more

It is probably the biggest Target in the area (and there are several) so that's a good thing? I guess it has more stuff, but it is still a Target. If you shop at Target, then you will like it. If you don't, then you won't. I like Target for some stuff, so I head into one on a regular basis. Not being the closest to me, this is not the one where I usually shop, but I do pop in from time to time. There was a mirror in stick here that my daughter wanted and was not at the other locations, and another time I had a prescription transferred here because the close pharmacy did not have what I needed in stock. The former was probably due to this being a bigger store with more stock, the latter may have been the same, or just luck. There is a WhichWich inside, as well as the ubiquitous Starbucks, and there is a decent grocery selection, though none of the Targets have a huge variety of fresh foods. read more

The female bathroom was terrible.... no seat covers, vomit in one stall, toilet paper all over the floors. The bathrooms were just bad!!!! Double check all your products for store pick up and drive up to make sure your goods aren't damaged. We've ordered items through the app and the team members have not done a quality check and it's been back-to-back ordeal so far. Oddly enough the items I'm referring to are different storage totes with cracked lids. With the last order, we waited at drive up for about 15 minutes for our items to be brought to us which is fair considering that the store seemed busy. We also waited an added 10 minutes for the team to find a replacement for the broken item we bought. We appreciate and am sure that the store is working extremely hard especially during this time, however our order took less than 15 minutes for a team member to find - easy. But it took about 25 minutes total for the team to deliver our items we ordered online before the store opened this morning and we picked up in the mid-afternoon. That's 25 minutes for us waiting and 25 minutes for them to make sure 8 items we received were correct and damage-free. Had a quality check been done, the team wouldn't have had to hustle to find a stupid storage tote last minute and keep hustling to being the awesome human beings they are during this bizarre time. 5 stars still goes out to my favorite store read more

I had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE here today. Corporate please train the "manager" named Jenna on how to properly deal with customers. I came in today to finish buying items on my baby registry using the 15% off coupon that was emailed to me. There were a few items I was trying to scan in store to add to my registry, but the app was giving me issues. I've spent about 2 hours in the store getting everything. I finally finish and go to get rang up. I explain the situation - I'm buying items left on my registry, some items were added in store today. The total is $324 and I'd like to use the 15% off coupon. For some reason the barcodes aren't working so the cashier calls the manager over to help. She starts to explain to me that I can't add new items in store because the registry doesn't work like that. It has to be items that were originally added to my registry and the coupon only applies to items that people didn't purchase for me. I tell her that I got an email saying that I could indeed add items after. I show her the email, but she continues to argue with me for about 20 minutes and then reluctantly says she'll go ahead and honor the 15% off coupon. She also tells me that if I read the email properly I'd understand that it's not the way it works. First of all Jenna, I'm not illiterate - I have a college education and I can read just fine. Second of all, I worked in retail for over 7 years as a manager and I would never continue to argue with a customer, especially if they're visibly upset. Mind you I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant, this woman could have made me go into labor with how upset she got me. You need to learn people skills and not talk down to customers. Your job as a "manager" is to help diffuse difficult situations, not make them worse. The pictures I attached clearly say that I can add items to the registry in store so I can use the 15% off coupon on those items. I don't see what the problem is. I also kept having to apologize to customers behind me and letting them know that it was going to take a while if they wanted to go get rang up on another register. Why am I telling your customers this? That's your job! Clearly you don't care about wasting peoples time. I'M NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN and I'll be calling the corporate office tomorrow. read more

Great selection of things. I usually base how good a Target will be based on the women's clothing because that's one the sections that most interests me. This Target had a wonderful array of collections for women and everything was neatly organized. They also had a good section of clearance item which is always a plus. I usually frequent the other Target in the area but I decided to vivit this one during the week and I'm glad I did. This Target is in a very busy shopping center so the parking can be difficult to find but the Target is on the side of the shopping center so that helps. The inventory in the baby section was great and that is key. They had a great stock in diapers and the children's clothes that I needed which was not the case at the other Target location. I don't give this location 5 stars simply based on the parking and how congested it can get other than that it's a great location with great inventory. read more

I like this target because it is big and has a good selection of items. It's a clean store and the workers are usually very nice and helpful. I hadn't been clothes shopping in a while. I went to get some socks, underwear, and t-shirts and was surprised to find that all the cheap Target brand and Hanes undergarments were locked up. I pushed the button but no human arrived to unlock the case after waiting for 10 minutes, so I left and bought it online. What has this world come to where you need to lock up a $2 pair of bun hugs. I did love this target but I got very mad today. I went to get something that showed as being in stock online. Not only did the aisle they claimed it to be on, NOT exist but after I finally found where the item was suppose to be they were completely out of the item. I wouldn't be that mad if I hadn't traveled out of my way an hour (because of traffic) to get this. What a let down! read more

Clean store. Seemed each department had employees cleaning or setting up displays with new merchandise. Lots of parking. Self serv kiosks were quick and no wait. The cell phone case aisle was a bit lacking. Only a few brands to choose from. But decently priced. read more

The location on the outside appears bigger than it does on the inside - however that doesn't stop it from being a decently sized one. It has all of the things you're expecting and requiring. We came on Thanksgiving night, staff was prepared and friendly. I made the unfortunate choice to wear a red plaid shirt and dark denim, it totally made me look like a Target employee. Woops. In any case, nobody bothered me though, so that was nice at least, haha. Upon checkout, our register was acting up and not providing receipts (kind of a given for black friday shopping for those looking for gifts/gift receipts, etc), the floor manager at the time was very helpful to assist our cashier, and even went beyond to wait for additional transactions to see if they did the same thing. It was a bit of a curious situation when we were leaving though, as the attendant asks for our receipt but we didn't have one. He was nice about it though. :) read more
