I thought I had reviewed this store but apparently, I hadn't. This store is one of three that is near my home and is located at the South Hill Mall. If I am nearby or need to shop at the mall, I will stop by to grab a few things. The store was renovated in 2018 and modernized. This store gets pretty busy. Self checkout kiosks available. As it nears to closing time, there will be only 1-2 available cashiers. During this time, the self checkout kiosks will have a long line. I also often use the Target app to shop online for home delivery. I also will use the curbside pickup when I don't need to shop in store. I enjoy the convenience of these options. The other plus shopping in store is the availability of Starbucks. I do enjoy ordering my drinks and then shop when I have a big list or if I want to simply take my time to browse to see what's new and/or available. I typically do not like to do this as this is dangerous. I will end up spending much more money and I don't want that. Overall, the store meets my needs. read more

This review is 100% for the target owned Starbucks that's on site. I stopped by on Friday 8/15 and ordered a decaf sugar free vanilla latte. I was given a regular sugar vanilla latte. I didn't find that out until I'd drank 3/4 of it and my dexcom was able to catch up. My blood sugar soared. Close to 300 (for reference going into the drink it was 92) and then the awful awful crash which sent me down in the 40's which is even more dangerous than high blood sugar. For me when this type of thing happens I get very very sick. Think stomach flu for a few hours. The only way to fix hypoglycemia is to eat something with glucose in it. But now I'm puking so how does a person do that? After an hour when I was able to pull myself together I went back over to the kiosk to let them know what had happened. I really just wanted my money back. I literally paid them to make me sick. The guy at the registered remembered my order and recited it back to me. (I think his name was Jordan) and when I said it wasn't sugar free like I'd ordered and it made me really sick. His response "it's a simple mistake". It was NOT a simple mistake. On top of that there was no I'm so sorry. Are you ok? Can you refund your drink. Nope. Just simple mistake. I left so as to not yell at a Starbucks employee in a store and called and spoke to ms George who pretty much said the same thing that her employee said well mistakes can happen. She did ask if I was ok which was nice. I love target and used to love Starbucks but won't set foot in another target again after that. There is ALWAYS a line for self checkout. And they only ever seem to have one checklane open. Other than that it's your typical target

Not my favorite Target location, but if I am in the area I am not opposed to stopping by. Compared to the surrounding Target locations this one is always messy and has a lot more people.. most likely because it's attached to a mall. Drive up is a hit or miss here too - I've had my entire order cancelled or lost in the past and they aren't as fast as the other locations with getting the order ready either. The organization of departments are smart and it is easy to find all needed staff. I went last time and was able to get everything on the shopping list easily. Comparing to other stores Target has good quality for decoration, daily needs like kitchen or bathroom supplies and much more. Love this store!!! read more

Is it just me or was Target's logo very obviously designed to look like a clitoris with a clit like nickname to match it ? I must be feelin' some type of way today to be pondering this question .. hmmm. Anywho, I LOVE target... maybe a little too much since I've nearly maxed out my target red card, not sure when I'll be able to pay it off, as I get drive up orders here at least twice a week! I got more out of this Target than the one in Tacoma on more than one occasion. There are several reasons why and one reason is it's connected to the South Hill Mall so you can do mall shopping and your department store shopping under one roof. Selection and variety of merchandise is better too by a small margin and not a significant one. The store is also noticeably cleaner and not completely in disarray. Now with Target a vexing thing is almost always trying to get checked out and this last visit was no exception and was beyond ridiculous than usual. They only had two regular cashiers and the person watching the self check outs was also multitasking and running a regular register as well when customers got snagged on the machine needing her help. The line was sprawling down all the other lanes for self check. It also seems like a big no no cashiers watching the self check outs are also supposed to monitor for potential theft and not with just any snags customers may have while scanning their merchandise. But apparently management had no problem with a significant sprawling line or potential theft because no supervisors or managers came to get customers on their way and provide cashier back up for the overwhelming situation they were in. read more

Passed through the Puyallup "Tarjay" not to long ago when visiting and found the perfect jacket at a fair (but not ideal) price... but the quality seemed great. The layout of the store is sort of easy to get comfortable with and in itself fairly clean as well as organized. The guest service (customer service) sandwiched in-between the mall and outside entrances was probable one of the nicest I've seen even the bathrooms (near them) were in good shape. The dollar spot area (ranging from one to five dollars on most items) is right in front and makes for a great grab and add to your purchase journey as it's next to impossible to leave any target without purchasing more than two things... I came in for mostly some practical things like water, vitamins and miscellaneous food items however I was informed they aren't carrying Market Pantry water or any gallons of water either currently or anymore... I was in disbelief as I know this is a popular ticket item. I made the best of it and got some Powerade zero, Gatorade 2 (all on sale). Target is often comparable with grocery and self branded goods to Walmart and other stores alike. I noticed this location seems less busy than most possibly due to past experiences from others. Though the Target side parking for the South Hill mall seems like everyone's favorite entrance side as it stays pretty full. Other than the self check out at the end of the shopping experience (that I figured might be faster and turned out to be false)... all card only unless you don't mind waiting for a Target Team Member coming over to complete your transaction.... I don't think I've ever seen a self checkout that didn't take almost every form of payment without assistance.... this was the only downside to my entire experience.... so give them a chance. This store is not handicap friendly. The riding carts are either broken or not charged. When I go in I use one if I have to go to the back to get an rx at CVS. I had previously fallen on my walk back and prefer to use a riding cart. Twice even though they said fully charged It quit on me. No other one available, I think they have 2 only. I went another time, same thing. Today there was one that wouldn't even turn on and one that the steering was out on. TARGET DO BETTER!!!! read more

This target sucks. Most of the time, I love going to target, but if you're in Puyallup and wanting to go, don't go to this one. The staff here are rude - constantly walking in the middle of the isles and bumping into customers, rude manners, and overall unpleasant to be around. Selection is fine, but there's rarely anything there that you need - due to it being near the mall. I was running a late errand and needed to grab a few frames, but was stopped by a man saying "the store is closed" even though the frames were 100 feet away from me, three isles down, and there was a man running lose screaming at his wife. Their priorities need to be set straight. They need to learn respect, manners, and just then, they might become a better store. read more

Had the worst experience here last Sunday! I received a baby monitor for my baby shower earlier this year. Recently started using it, and it turns off in the middle of the night, obviously not good! Went to return it so I can pickup a different one. The gal at the customer service counter said she was new and had never done a registry return, she wasn't wearing a name badge. I didn't have my gift receipt but it was purchased from my Target registry. So she called her "manager" on her walkie talkie. She simply asked that person to come there. The person showed up about 10 minutes later and 2 people had been helped while I waited. The lady who supposedly was her "manager" showed up said sorry to her co-worker about the long wait. Nothing to me. Her name was Samantha. Then she asks me if I've had it longer than 90 days and I said yes... she said well I'm not supposed to return it, she seemed in a foul mood, not sure if it was because of me or her day. I asked if I could talk to someone else. Because even I know I have a year because it's a registry item. Then she couldn't figure it out and finally said just give me your ID. I gave her my ID, I could see the item rung up at a sale price. I stated it was more than that, she said I know! And again that that she wasn't supposed to do this. She gave me a refund on a merchandise card. Which is fine, I was going to look for another baby monitor anyways, then she threw my ID on the counter. She couldn't even hand it to me. My expectations may be higher since I've worked for companies who are known for their great customer service. But this was one of the worst experiences I've had at a Target. The other Target isn't too far, I'll go to that one from now on. I know customer service is hard!!! But if she was going to do the return anyway, why the bad attitude? Someone should really teach their managers how to do all types of returns! And Sunday's shouldn't be the day for a skeleton crew. When I went to purchase the new monitor, I waited in a long line. There were only 2 registers open and the check yourself out line was extra long. When it was my turn the guy left and the new girl from earlier took his place. She was quiet didn't say anything to me. I said "we meet again" and she semi smiled asked if I wanted to buy insurance on the monitor. Normally I have great experiences at target but today I waited in the tech area for about 10-15 minutes for somebody to come and help me. Most of their items are locked up so you have to get someone with a key to open it. I finally walked to the fitting room to find someone and they called someone over to tech which took almost another 10 minutes. Her key didn't work so a gentleman came over to use his keys without acknowledging how long we all had been waiting. After he opened the cabinet he did not give me my item he helped someone else while holding mine. I understand you normally pay for things at the tech area but I found it odd he did not say anything to me after I had been waiting for a long time. I'm assuming he might've been a supervisor or manager so I'm just confused why I would have gotten treated that way by him. read more

So this is a great example of "I don't give a S&!t" in Target employees. Asked a woman restocking a shelf where the milk crates were. She looked at me as if I'd asked where they kept the Martians. When her senses came back, she said we don't sell milk crates here. I told her the Target website said this store had 8 in stock. Her "where do we keep the Martians" look returned. A few moments later she told me to try the very back, far corner of the store. I headed that way and literally 12 feet from where this illuminating exchange transpired, is a shelf of milk crates. The way Funko collectibles are handled in this store is against policy. The Pikachu Funko exclusives this morning were sold illegally by an employee and not made available to the public. We were told that the 6 they had in stock could not be found, then it was discovered that someone had seen an employee take the box of 6 and sell them outside himself. Ridiculous and dishonest. There are protocols in place that many stores do follow, but they were not followed. Additional steps need to be taken to ensure the public can actually have access to exclusives. I hope he is reprimanded and that the manager takes action. read more

I placed a pickup order almost 12 hours ago to get the last minute items on my daughter's Christmas list. I arrived close to 4pm ( about 5hrs after placing my order) at the pickup counter I was told that my order wasn't ready yet (app said ready in 2hrs). I asked if she had any idea when it would be ready and she was "unable to tell me" as they hadn't even started my order but had multiple people in the pickup area just messing around. I had the displeasure of going into this target just to make a simple return that was less than $30.00 over some electric tooth brush heads that were not fitting me and my husband toothbrush. I am Asian lady and my husband retired military. This location is racist and discriminates against people who are not white. I had my original packaging, the receipt and my card I used to purchase it on. So When I approached to return and was greeted by Sheri, maybe she was having bad day I don't know. She said she couldn't return the item because they didn't sale it at target, but yet they have a whole row of the same tooth brush heads, she just couldn't find it on their website. So instead of going to look for it I told her to call a supervisor, which was equally racist towards me. Leaving upset I had my husband go back after we had dinner. He is white male and had no issues with the return. I took photos so others can avoid these racist ladies or hopefully target will terminate their employment for being racist. Also I could not read their name badges because it was so hard to read I asked them to write down their names so I can complain to cooperate and they tried their very best to make it illegible. read more

Went to Target Electronic section because online it stated they had an item in stock- 8 of them from what online said. I went to the aisle where it was suppose to be located and did not find it. When I went to ask the employee (Ben was his name) he was very rude. I asked where the item would be or if they had it, he practically yelled at me for asking and gave me a list of reasons on why they did not have the item & why I shouldn't be asking him. A simple yes or no answer would have been fine with me, its the simple fact that he seemed annoyed with a PAYING customer for asking a question. This employee obviously does not know anything about customer service & needs to be re-trained on what customer service is & looks like. Good luck! read more

This Target is not my favorite. I'm in between Puyallup & Bonney Lake & this one seems a bit closer than BL. I would agree that it seems a bit dirtier than others. The main downfall is its connected to the mall, so you get a lot of the kids just hanging out, standing around & getting in the way. Typically I'll go to this one if I know I only need one thing & can get in & out quickly. If I want to look around, I'll go to Bonney Lake. read more

This store is a joke and their drive up service is TRASH! On 10/31 I came here after placing a drive up order and I went thru the app to say I'm on my way. By the time I parked they cancelled my order. I had to wait over an hour for them to tell me I had to cancel the order and that they don't know which team member cancelled it. Today, 11/16, I placed 2 orders. The second one was ready for pick up and when I went to pick up thru their drive up the attendant told me he didn't know why the people retrieving the orders skipped my first one but fulfilled the second. 15 minutes later 2 girls came out to tell me that pick up was backed up w 6 orders. I asked if they or I could go get the items to fulfill the order and they told me no. Idk why they saying they're backed up when they have 2 employees at my window and the parking lot isn't full. I'm not sure if this is their new protocol at this location but it's upsetting that they have employees who clearly aren't working who can do a simple request or allow me to get my order and choose not to. I told them that I didn't want to go home and come back for MY FIRST ORDER and even tho the app said it would be ready same day the girls were telling me it won't be ready till the next morning. Targets are EVERYWHERE and I always forget about the South Hill location as I rarely venture eastward.. I think if I GPS'd it this location is actually closer than the Lakewood Towne Center one? The layout for this one is a little different, I know the 2 Tacoma locations like the back of my hand, I will say it does seem a lot larger. It is, what it is. There isn't a ton to say about this place. Some employees are on their game, others are just along for the ride. Kinda of like gambling I suppose and regardless of what the employee might look like, it's gonna be a gamble. My girlfriend comes here for her prescriptions for whatever reason, so I always end up down some random aisle looking at this or that and this places just never ceases to amaze. Oh and my girlfriend finds it super annoying that there isn't a direct path to the pharmacy area. You have to go all the way around to get there. I don't notice this, but she's annoyed. My friend and I came to this location to look for our Christmas trees a couple weeks ago because the people at Lakewood Towne Center said this location had a huge stock of our trees. Well, they were wrong and my friend's tree was not in stock at this location. I honestly, forgot the name of the guy who helped us, but he was AMAZING!! He looked everywhere for my friend's tree, apologized profusely and even offered to call a different store for us to put it on hold. Aside from that, layout here is very different than the one up the road in the Sunrise Village. I think they may have more women/junior clothing. read more

Didn't find what I was looking for (sold out) but the store itself was pretty clean, and there were many people roaming around offering assistance. I think they underwent a renovation recently, but I'm not in this area nearly enough to know for sure. I like that they took out the food counter and put in customer returns instead. I wasn't liking their set up previously having the garbage (and emptying the garbage) right by where they were making food so it could possibly get dirt on or by the food. They are changing around the store. It is a bit jampacked with merchandise and could be easier to get your cart through. I like their self-check out which a lot of stores have nowadays. The parking lot has all these large storage crates blocking where there used to be parking. I don't really like parking in that lot anymore. read more

I love Target. It is such a departure from the Walmarts of the world. The crowded aisle-ways by oblivious people is rarely found in there. The quality and choice is typically better. Although, this Target is a bit rougher than the one down the street. The mall makes a visit here more efficient, because you can hit other stores at the same time. But if you are just going to Target to go to Target, drive 5 minutes down the road to Sunrise Village. You will be pleasantly surprised by the clean "small town" feel of the area. read more

I am a big Target fan and this place does the job but I was not overly impressed. I was looking for a loofa and I could only find one attached to the stick...kinda bummed. The store set up is different than the other Targets I've been to which is sort of strange - usually I walk to the left and there are cosmetics - in this store the cosmetics were next to electronics. LOL, I know it's something minor but still... The parking outside this Target gets pretty busy, like others said it's attached to a mall area. Went there on 03/03/21 and was surprised that they actually had any type of Pokémon cards. They had an elite box set that the only price tag on the shelf with over a dozen boxes had it listed at $39.99. This seemed an acceptable price so I went to buy it with several booster packs as well. When I rang it up it rang up ten dollars more expensive at $49.99. I had the clerk remove it, and then after my purchase of the booster packs I went and double checked to see if it was for something else, but it had the correct description for the item I had wanted to get. I brought this to the attention of the manager on hand and asked her to honor the price, her response was that I needed to discuss that with the vendor (wtf how) for they set the store price, even though it was most definitely a store processed tag, and that she would not honor it. Honestly with how popular the cards are right now it feels like IMO that it falls along the lines of false advertised price. read more

this store is a joke. came here looking for some small bandaids. didn't end up getting them because i needed help from a worker to find them but the worker i had an encounter with was rude and no help. i walked past her once and she was already helping someone else. once she gets done, i go to her and ask if she can help me look for the bandaids and i showed her a picture of the bandaids. she didn't help me at all. all she did was say, "whatever we have out there is what we have." and it was so half a**ed of an answer. i'm really frustrated because she didn't even answer my question and just a couple minutes prior she was really friendly to another customer and even showing him where whatever he needed was. read more

Jennifer in the Puyallup customer service center is rude!! We tried to fix our son's Red Card and after she explained they wouldn't allow us to use our sons card even though it is attached to our account. I have never in my life been ID'd for using a debit card, If I have access to the pin number and the physical card I am not required to show ID. Even after that interaction we decided to use our card to make sure the issue wasn't with our bank, that is when she got very rude and stated she will be quiet as we are not listening to her. When I called her out for being rude she said she was shocked that our son's(Who works at that Target!) parent would be so rude to a co-worker!?! I am very disappointed that my son works at a place that would have that type of customer service. I called Cassie the LOD and she just kept stating that legally we couldn't use his card and completely missing the point that Jennifer was very rude. She didn't apologize for her she just stated that she will talk to her to get her side of the story... Way to show that trust in your customers Cassie! I'm a huge Target fan but this store seems to be lacking. It may just be the fact that it's connected to South Hill Mall that makes it feel so run down but as previous reviewers have mentioned, it does have a unclean and dated feel to it which has not been my experience at any other Target store. Parking is also horrendous here since it's connected to the mall. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs. read more
