I would recommend Sparrow & Nightingale's for that unique gift whether be a Victorian type gift or if you just want to get the one of a kind item. 10/15 Visited Sparrow and Nightingale today to capture the upcoming Halloween theme all the shops in Sumner display. It is such an adventure with all the " scary" items to enhance their already uniqueness. I love the whole downtown of Sumner and the Victorian feeling but by far this shop is my favorite as staff is friendly and informative. At the same time, the people here were probably the friendliest I have encountered. My issue has been and continues to be consistency with Goodwill. Clearly inventory will vary as is comes from the community, but there was a time when Goodwill was also good value and as many have reported, I can concur, too many items cost too much. If you can get new Adidas sweat pants at the outlet for $20, why would a thrift store sell a well used pair for $13? In my opinion, used should always be half as much as new in a thrift shop for any currently available retail item and when it comes to clothes that are tattered, worn and discolored, even less. Also when you can get a nice drinking glass for $1 at Dollar Tree, why are you charging $3 for a used glass? Some locations have a flat fee of $.69 on glassware and I think that is a fair price considering even if it's something collectable like beer branded glass, no one is donated that glass unless the artwork is faded, scratched or imperfect. I don't know who's responsible for pricing, but Goodwill needs to return to the days where everything was a value. They do great work in our communities and every purchase supports the rehabilitation and restoration of its people, but when you have an eBay page and charge some of the prices you do, it appears you have gone from giving to greedy and that's a bad look for a business that didn't build a reputation on greed. The community has given so much to Goodwill that they are finding it hard to keep up with donations, another reason to not take advantage of shoppers with prices. The Bellevue location should put of a banner, "Powered By Nordstrom's" The only thing missing from that location was a Cafe, because every price was as close to retail as you can get. I'm finding it much harder to donate or shop with them knowing how perverted the pricing has become.

I then moved my stuff to make room for school pick up, he then came out giving me a dirty look and pointing up - at a camera or something. I hadn't left anything and was simply trying to make room for the kids. I decided to call the store because I didn't appreciate the interaction. The interaction with the women that answered the phone (maybe the store manager) was worse. I was just explaining how frustrating it is to not be able to donate but explained I understand why. She became VERY defensive and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience she decided to disconnect the call. I will admit I called back just to close the loop and thanked her (multiple times) and she was still very defensive and told me she doesn't believe that they are always closed and I can go to other locations. I didn't feel like going rounds so I decided to end the call. She called me immediately back said something and hung up on me. It didn't need to escalate to this degree, I work in customer service and delivery is everything. It's disappointing, but will now take donations to other locations or Value Village - who always is open for donations and I have only ever had positive interactions.

When I went to pick up the hutch at the shop, the shop was small, but full of incredibly crafted pieces that had been reworked with love, detail and talent. When I started looking around in the shop I found a desk that was perfect for my wife and bought that too. I also found a coffee table that I liked, but it had already been sold. The shop was small, but everything in it was worth looking at vs. shops with too much stuff and only a 10th worth looking at. Both Debi and Sarah were very accommodating with holding our purchases in their store for a couple days while I scrambled up a vehicle to pick up the great treasures that I was able to find in their store. I may not make it to Sumner very often, but the next time we need a piece for our house, I will make the trip to their shop first before going somewhere else.

When I arrived, I waited around 30 minutes only to be told they couldn't find the tool. The employee helping me mentioned he was supposed to be off work already and seemed understandably frustrated. It's really disappointing to see the website list items as available, allow you to purchase them, and then find out in person that they can't be located.
