Prices are higher than retail. Used to be a fun place to find great deals but I don't even go there now. I'm not going to pay triple for something that was donated. In addition, I was in a slow moving line of about five cars with a truckload of items to donate and as soon as I was almost to the front, an employee put a closed sign right in front of my truck. What?? I asked if I was still able to donate because I've been waiting and they said no, we are full. Absolutely ridiculous! Also, I used to shop Sunday mornings when the color tag change took place- I specifically went for the $1.99 color tags. I noticed they would "pull" all those items the night beforehand. I would find maybe 3-5 items in the entire store with that color. I've even witnessed employees pulling them on Sunday mornings and taking them to the back. 5 people sitting and drinking coffee and being all chatty Cathy while 20 cars stack up with drop offs. This is happening constantly in the Bonney Lake Location. Don't even bother trying to donate to this place it's USELESS. These employees have to be the LAZIEST people on the planet. The gal at the donation place actually pushed my sister while she was carrying a donation item and made her drop a very good monitor. My sister and I are absolutely dumbfounded that they would allow employees to physically push people carrying heavy items. This particular store has to be the absolute worst of the worst. Yesterday 01/04/2025 the donation line was long, as in 10+ cars in the line. I decided to come back later in the day to see if the line had shortened, it did not. I needed to drop off a few bags and recycle some old tv's. The line was not moving at all it seemed, which was actually true. I called in to see what was going on, turns out lunch, okay, this is within reason. But, what was really happening was " 3 cars are let in at a time, emptied, then a 15 minute break. Let me just get to the point.....stop wasting even more of my time. The dump is not far away and considerably faster and is a viable option compared to wasting your day at this place. After over 90 minutes waiting, we were all turned away, AFTER 90 Minutes. Not the most grateful when it comes to donating items of value to a "for profit" company. I've tried to donate high value items on a couple of occasions. The most recent really made me dig deep into this company. I had a high valued numbered print that they refused to take. It was probably 30" x 36". They said it was too big....... But the certainly wanted all my other valuable prints. Needless to say I will not be giving these beggars anything else but rather drive an extra 10 miles and donate to a grateful organization that operates as a non profit. I can't believe it. once again another horrible encounter at the Bonney lake goodwill. When shopping there two days ago I specifically asked about the return policy since they no longer offer dressing rooms (you know because the virus that is no longer harmful according to CDC). they said I had seven days to make the return with the tags still on. that's it! so today as I try to return these items they give me a GIFT Card as if I'm wanting to continue to spend my money there..... I told them this was not the information I was given.... then continue to tell me it's on the receipt.... why would I read the receipt when I specifically SPOKE with a worker about the return. Then the guy continues to argue with me as I make the statement this is the third issue I have had with them. Mostly being harassed for my 3 year old to wear a mask back when Covid was a "thing".... The place is fairly spacious and well organized, staff is very nice and helpful. I asked where the winter jackets were and the young man working there walked w me to show me the area but they did not have a lot of winter clothes, just few pieces. I did not find any pieces for myself as most items were fairly worn and maybe should have been on the floor but my hubby found a new orvis shirt and arctyrex t-shirt. CC accepted. read more

This is probably the worst goodwill I have ever been to. The employees are hostile for no reason. The stuff is super junky, they dont carry any furniture. Dont waste your time, try literally any other goodwill. Also an employee told me they removed the mirrors to stop people from trying stuff on. (Yes theres no changing rooms either) Doesnt make much sense for a store that sells clothes. Also prices have become ridiculous! Goodwill used to be so affordable, its closer to original retail prices now (for something used). Pretty disappointing overall. read more

And we are talking nice items here; These chairs were $85 each and there are in like new condition but for some reason they weren't good enough for this Goodwill. Two brand new vases in the box they came in, never even used or opened. Not even worth the drive out there because you don't know if they are going to except the donations or not. After 3 days in a row attempting to drop and donate business suits - women's size 4 & 6, and other items I was turned away due to no room. I have always been a big sponsor and advocate for Goodwill in the past and made many donations but I have since changed my dedication. Recommendation, update website with open to take donations. I've been to most of the Goodwill locations in King, Pierce and Thurston county. This was certainly one of the smaller locations. At the same time, the people here were probably the friendliest I have encountered. My issue has been and continues to be consistency with Goodwill. Clearly inventory will vary as is comes from the community, but there was a time when Goodwill was also good value and as many have reported, I can concur, too many items cost too much. If you can get new Adidas sweat pants at the outlet for $20, why would a thrift store sell a well used pair for $13? In my opinion, used should always be half as much as new in a thrift shop for any currently available retail item and when it comes to clothes that are tattered, worn and discolored, even less. Also when you can get a nice drinking glass for $1 at Dollar Tree, why are you charging $3 for a used glass? Some locations have a flat fee of $.69 on glassware and I think that is a fair price considering even if it's something collectable like beer branded glass, no one is donated that glass unless the artwork is faded, scratched or imperfect. I don't know who's responsible for pricing, but Goodwill needs to return to the days where everything was a value. They do great work in our communities and every purchase supports the rehabilitation and restoration of its people, but when you have an eBay page and charge some of the prices you do, it appears you have gone from giving to greedy and that's a bad look for a business that didn't build a reputation on greed. The community has given so much to Goodwill that they are finding it hard to keep up with donations, another reason to not take advantage of shoppers with prices. The Bellevue location should put of a banner, "Powered By Nordstrom's" The only thing missing from that location was a Cafe, because every price was as close to retail as you can get. I'm finding it much harder to donate or shop with them knowing how perverted the pricing has become. read more

As the other reviews state, you can buy the same items new along with a twix bar and still save money. Recently, this store went completely downhill. After shopping here almost daily for 2 years, I was advised that this was due to a change in management. Current management should be ashamed and embarrassed. Pricing is out of control (I consistently see items such as MEDICAL WALKERS marked $50!) I almost always witness employees being openly berated by management (I have nothing but kind words for the cashiers, etc so it's very upsetting to see), and I've heard directly from employees about mistreatment including discrimination, under pay and being promised sales bonuses that ended up being pocketed by managers themselves. Implementing a "sales bonus" in a "non-profit" company seems absolutely criminal. Sadly, I can no longer justify spending money here or donating items that will be disgustingly marked up for profit. read more

Absolute rudest and aggressive staff I've ever encountered. Complain about receiving free donations for their FOR PROFIT storefront. If there was another place to take donations in my area I would have done that as I generally avoid goodwill at all costs. The staff at this location sealed the deal. I'm no complainer but this was something i think should be solved. idk if she's an employee or manager i did see a name tag saying "connie" i don't really know but it was a female and there these glass boxes that have really nice figures or perfumes ect. mostly expensive things but i usually look through everytime, this one day i come in and this nice employee "livia" who usually opens them when i come in and this connie lady slammed the box right on my face. she said "you need an employee to open these." the girl angela who was working register said "there is an employee standing right there" and she begins to agree with this angela girl but still decides to slam it on me again. i was honestly baffled not because i was only getting treated wrong and not like a paying customer but the disrespect she was giving to her coworkers. idk if she's a new employee or something but she needs more training!! overall i love this place and the people here really aren't EVER like that i hope they can figure it out with there coworkers soon. read more

Just your typical outside-of-King-County Goodwill. It's not terribly huge and the majority of the store is women's and misses' clothing, with a small housewares and electronics section, toys, books, etc. It's clean and well-organized, with price tags on everything, but not a very big selection of most items. I'd say it's worth stopping if you're driving through on a road trip or something, but probably not worth going very far out of your way for. Rad '80s store sign, though. read more

By the amount of stars this place has, I'm not the only one that is unhappy with this store. Be aware that when you drop off items in the back, they are rude and unappreciative. I have been mad every time I leave there. Today I drive up and I'm so excite the the regular guy who is so rude (he picks and chooses what he wants to take of my donations & I don't give them junk) is not there. It's another dude. So I think, this is going to be better & possibly a good experience. Right? Nope! It's early morning and very quite back there. Only one truck in front of me with a HUGE amount of stuff. So I only have 1 item. I pull up behind them and get out of my car and I was getting ready to say Hi & he turns to me and says "One at a time!" I said well, no one is behind me, and this guy has so much stuff, can I just put this in the container? He turns his back on me and says I have rules I have to follow. So I think ok, I get that. It's stupid since no one is behind me but "ok". So I go ahead and get my item out of the car (I was willing to wait) & he turned to me, takes the item and says very rudely "what is this?!!!" A very expensive suit, I said. He gruffly said "never mind" (what ever that means) So rude people!!! They don't like their job apparently. Never have they ever said "thank you, Hi" or anything. Customer service is hardly bearable at best. I get treated horrible whenever I walk in for reasons I am not sure of. I've always been super polite to the staff. The last encounter I had will be the final time I go to this Goodwill and they tried charging me $7 for a roll of tape that was probably $2 to $3 at the store brand new. Ridiculous all I needed was some tape. Sat in line for about 20 minutes just to be told that the tape I had hoped to purchase without a tag was going to be that price. I'm not paying $8 for a roll of tape. I have dealt with a lot of their crap and that's the final straw. read more

A good amount of overpriced children's/women's clothing. I feel like for name brand clothing in "decent" but worn condition is higher priced than it should be. Personally think the toy isle should be cleaned more frequently. Have had mostly decent interactions with workers in store, although not as much pleasantries from the donation drop off staff in the back. Always be aware of bizarre customers inside the store and loitering outside building. My son and I have witnessed questionable "parenting" from families in store, upsetting us both and workers either surprisingly not caring or just unaware. Overall, it's an okay enough store... Just be vigilant if you're with your children in my opinion. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. The regular man who works in the back receiving donations is rude and won't help unload a thing. I'm a senior woman who donates good, clean and usually expensive items and clothing as I am downsizing. The only excitement I've seen from him was when he saw I had a Mariners jersey and quickly grabbed that out of the box. I take these things to Goodwill in the hope they will provide jobs and support for those less fortunate but have now found shelters or go to the Auburn Goodwill where they are much more appreciative. Current system for accepting donations needs to be changed. The first come first serve system is not working and have tried to donate multiple times and have not been able to. the Bonney Lake Goodwill is a joke at best. The employees are rude. The last three times I have attempted to drop off items I was told no all three times. The last time was the final straw. My wife gave me two boxes of fine dishes which she had just washed. When I got to the Goodwill they said they will not take them because they are damp. The time before I tried to drop off a beautiful dresser. One that we paid 1100 dollars for two years earlier. The guy said we can not take it because it has a scratch on it. The scratch was less than two inches long. I asked the employee are none of you trained to fix small items that may need a little bit of TLC he said no. The Goodwill does not train their employees on how to fix or clean items. Honestly the Goodwill has become a company that makes Millions of dollars and their non profit designation should be removed. read more

Another bad experience at this location. Went in after work and was waiting for the cashier to be free to look at and purchase something in the case. The older female security guard told me I'd have to leave the store or put my purse in the locker. Not sure why my purse was fine while I shopped and made a purchase before work but 4 hours later it was not. The tone in her voice was rude, treating me like a criminal as I waited (standing next to the lockers) to make a purchase. While I was in before work the way the security gaurd talked to the cashier was very unprofessional and degrating. At least the caisher was very polite. read more

I was shopping at the Bonney Lake goodwill today and found a few items I wanted to purchase. I have 2 Under Armour tops along with a few other shirts. The cashier Anna proceeds to tell me the 2 Under Armour shirts I had that were green tags 50% off of the tagged price of $7.99 price were considered "designer" and were tagged wrong. She tells me she can't sell them to me at that price and says she has to reprice those and all the items I wanted to buy!! She then says beaches the Under Armour shirts are considered "designer" they would be priced $19.99 over double the price the goodwill had already tagged them... there's no way I'm gonna pay $19.99 for a used shirt at the goodwill when the normal price is around $30. Then she not only repriced those but EVERYTHING I wanted to buy because she claimed it's the goodwills policy to reprice all items if they had been "tampered with" how the hell were they tampered with when they were tagged and priced by your employees?? The tagged weren't ripped off , ripped or messed with, just not the price she thought it should have been! She then tells me all the employees are trained to know exactly what certain brands should be priced and they can't sell anything that doesn't meet those guidelines! Are you freaking kidding me! She basically was trying to tell me the goodwill employees are perfect and would NEVER price items wrong so she accused me of doing something. How dare you accuse the customer of "tampering" with your tags with ABSOLUTELY no proof! It's not the consumers fault your employees screwed up!!! So the goodwill employees mark an item "below" it's value, it's then out on the sales floor a shopper sees it and wants to buy it, brings it to the cashier and even tho it's tagged and priced by an employee if it's not to the cashiers liking she doesn't have to sell it to you!! The the biggest BS I've ever heard!!!! I mean that's like a department store saying "well even tho our company priced it $7.99 that's not what's it worth so we can't sell it to you for that price, the actual sales price is $19.99" that would NEVER fly. In fact if the company makes a mistake is pricing it's the company fault and they take the hit for THEIR mistake not the consumer! I've never been more appalled in my life!
