Selection changes always. Store can be messy but you never know what you will find. Sometimes amazing value, sometimes ok in price. This is in the area next to Target and Hobby Lobby. They recently have been getting much better quality products. I use the Yuka App from the Apple store on my iPhone to scan the barcodes of products before I buy to get a read on the quality/hazards of ingredients. I was surprised to see their toothpaste section carry many of the same brand as Whole Foods. Prices for premium toothpaste are plus/minus $1-3 dollars from some stores. I cross price check with Amazon. Beauty products now include MAC, Bobbi Brown, Anastasia, Stila, Shisheido, and Lancôme, which are often known to be found at a Sephora, Nordstrom or higher end store, however, selection is limited for these. The prices are much better than elsewhere for these. Clothes quality is mixed - you can review by pulling the tags on the inside to see if you are getting full cotton, polyester, etc. Some do not feel as if the material will last long and others feel very quality. read more

I never go to TJ Maxx simply for the fact that I know it's going to simply not going to be my vibe. In fact I am not entirely sure if I have ever been to one up until now. We went to this one with the hope of finding a salt and pepper grinder(s) and we had no luck. We also attempted to look at coffee machines as we needed a new one, preferably inexpensive. But no... no luck on any of that. Item availability for normal kitchen and household items is poor. They have clothes and some oddball decor you could use if you want a laugh regardless if it's intentional or not but other than that coming here was a waste of time and only affirms why I don't ever come here. This particular TJ Maxx has a really chaotic parking lot because they share it with a lot of other stores, but the service is really good. The people are nice. The selection is good and the value is good. I definitely suggest going to this place. It's really easy to get in and out, and I always find a nice variety of things. They have ample security. The cashiers are quick. I really can't think of a reason why not because the value and customer service is great. read more

ZERO STARS!!! I'm very upset with the cashier that helped me on my last visit. Sure she was sweet but she completely fucked me over. I made a large purchase, and when she asked if i had a credit card i said i was unsure and that we could look it up. (at this point im thinking it's just a regular rewards card) after i put my credentials in i ask if i had one. she said "no but we can just sign you up now" it wasn't till the purchase was finalized that she told me it was successful. My entire purchase went on this card and it tanked my credit!!! I am a young girl, I feel like my misunderstanding was completely taken advantage of. Within the process I even told her "no it's okay, i don't want to do this anymore" she responded with "oh please you're being so nice, this will only take a second" then proceeds to waste 7 more minutes of my time! I understand I could've said no, but i did! and it was completely looked over. just gross. This is just disrespectful. I was not told anything about this card besides the fact that i signed up for it, i was given a pan flit after the fact, then was supposed to just carry on with the rest of my day. Bought two travel luggage, the wheel snapped as soon as we were going to the airport. I tried to return it because the receipt says return within 30 days and I still had the wheel hoping they would understand that their product broke on its own. Alma was very rude , seemed like she had an attitude to begin with and did not try to even be accommodating or even inform me why I cannot receive a refund. I called customer service and was notified that Tony the store manager would be giving me a call to handle my situation and I am still waiting on that call. Good gracious! If you have not been to T.J. Maxx lately, you have not been to TJ Maxx! My last trip here was approximately 12 years ago and I swore never to come back. The clothes used to be crammed together and the store was a mess. I walked in today because I was here to visit the dollar store next-door! I couldn't quite find what I needed at the dollar store so I thought I would trudge in to TJ Maxx. I was floored at how open, spacious and clean the store is!!! Special shout out to Claudia at the jewelry counter for steering me in the right direction. She said "you're going to need a cart" and I said no I don't think so! $200 later, I realized she was correct...I definitely needed a cart! Prices are amazing, especially clearance. They have big names as well as genetics. I grabbed quite a bit of food items as I love to cook. NONE were expired and all def discounted! Today, I went to the TJ Maxx in Tacoma to shop. There was a store associate woman checking in with me asking if I was okay, I replied "yes." I continued to load up my shopping cart with store items. A while later, she came up to me again asking if I was okay, and I said "yes." This time, my shopping cart was loaded with store items and the same woman offered to move and keep my shopping cart up by the cashier checkout, but I kindly declined. Soon, I realized my shopping cart was gone and it was by the checkout door next to the cashier checkout. I checked out at checkout number 5, and told the cashier about the incident, and telling her "store associates should not be touching costumer's shopping cart." When costumers are shopping, it should be a relaxing and fun time. This time, it was not relaxing or fun and I am upset with the costumer service. It is one thing to check in with costumers, but another thing to bother them while they are shopping. I had a terrible experience at the Tacoma TJ Maxx and will not return to this store anymore. Because I had spilled something on my pants at work one Saturday evening, I decided to swing by TJ Maxx to get some new ones. I checked online and their hours for Saturday were listed to stay open until 10p.m. I arrived at 9:15p.m. I parked and walked in and a woman (whom I assume to be the manager) ran to me swinging her hand in my face. I stopped, and she told me that I couldn't enter because they were closing. I told her the time I saw online and she said I must be making a mistake and that they close at 9. I looked at the times listed on the door, they said 10p.m. as well. Here's the deal, I work in a restaurant and totally would have understood if she just politely explained that because of low sales they were closing early to protect losing out on money from labor costs. But she didn't, she blatantly lied to my face. I've been here a few times and had fine service, but this woman was just so rude I will probably not be returning to this location. read more

The other day I approached them with somewhat out of ordinary request, and manager on duty ( I believe his name is Anthony?) went out of his way to accommodate me. I just had two baby showers and there were a bunch of things to exchange/return here. I was really worried because many of the outfits didn't have TJMaxx tags, only the main brand ones. Some stuff came with a gift receipt and some didn't but I'd been told it was all from TJ's from the people who gifted it all to me. I had two gentleman (one of whom must have been a manager) retagging and researching, making sure I got all the credit I was owed. I couldn't believe how they went out of their way to make sure I got what I needed. Now I have some credit to get things that may come up along the way which is a huge weight off my shoulders. A few days later when I came in with some outfits and the same problem (no TJ tags or gift receipt). Erin the cashier went out, found similar outfits to price match, and gave me credit too! I bought two exact pair of shoes, one for my daughter, one for me. The one pair rang up $16 and the other pair 20$. The lady refused to give me the discount on the other pair saying that pair wasn't on sale. All the other pairs just like it was on sale. Not only was she unhelpful but she was rude. This is one of my absolute favorite stores to shop at for the home, jewerly, beauty, gifts, certain essential wardrobe pieces, spices, candy, tea party decor and all sorts of things. This particular one in Tacoma has the absolute best selection in the entire northwest it seems. The staff is extremely friendly and the store is well kept and organized. Parking is a challenge during the holidays but otherwise easy. Return policy is 30 days but they're accommodating in some situations. I absolutely love coming here. There are always fabulous finds. And gift cards here are always appreciated by everyone so I gift them often. Love the Tacoma TJMaxx!! read more

Well, I do love the products here, what really needs revamping is the return policy. I took in 3 items to return, and was only able to get "in-store" credit due to the fact that I was returning them 1 day past the 30 day policy, mind you, I had the receipt, and all the items had their original sticker or tags on them. When I asked why they couldn't just give me a refund, their only answer was: "it's the store policy," repeatedly this was their answer. One of our first visits here we encounter a lady named Teresa who was absolutely amazing, super nice & extremely great customer service! Absolutely no complaints with her My 2 year old was crying & begging for one of their display balloons, well an unknown employee ended up pulling one off the rack & handing it to her. We finished shopping & then head to the register to check out. Our cashier started ringing up our things, when it came down to a holiday bowl I found & asked for a discount. An extremely rude male, Jioanni or some shit like towered over the cashier & was like "no scan it, if there's no discount, there's no discount!" With major attitude. Then he looks at my 2 year old CHILD & says "I'm going to need that back before you leave the store". A fucking balloon. I get it, for display only blah blah blah but this guy went as far as announcing it to the whole store that "(employe name) you cannot give out any balloons". Would they really have missed ONE damn balloon? I doubt it. That balloon will die if it hasn't already & have to be replaced anyways. Now, EVERY TIME we have returned to this store or any others since this incident my daughter reminds us that she cannot have any balloons because "the man" is going to take it away. So to that one wonderful(SARCASM) TJ Maxx employe, thank you. Thank you for giving my two year old daughter something to remember & bring up every time we shop in TJ or similar stores. Went to Tj maxx tonight, when we were leaving we noticed a dog in a car next to us the windows were rolled up and no owner in sight I went into TJ Maxx and asked the gal if she could page the owner of the van I had the license plate number and she said I had to call security for that area we called security no answer ,I asked the manager if she would page the owner of the van to go out to her car to get the dog out but the manager said no they're not allowed to the owner of the car was standing in the jewelry area where I was and said oh that's my dog it's fine and I told her no it's not it's 91 degrees outside your dog has no air and it's even hotter in your car. I will be calling TJ Maxx corporate tomorrow to complain about the manager's lack of concern for this poor dog that could have died in this car. The owner of the car rolled her window down a couple inches and went back inside I have her license plate and I told her I was going to report her to the police and she should not have a dog if she's going to leave it in the car in this heat.
