This has been my local Target that I go to since I moved to the area in 2012 and the service was always just average or mediocre. I made a quick stop today just to buy some stuff to dye my sweats. I don't know if they have changed the hiring process or if they just happened to hire a huge wave of new seasonal workers or something bc there were way more employees than I've ever seen working there at once, BUT let me tell you the service there was exceptional today. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a few different employees. As I began to walk right over to the section for the stuff I needed, I was greeted by almost every employee that I walked past. I grabbed a couple things then started to look for my last item. An employee (blonde guy with glasses) who was stocking items saw me looking around, immediately greeted me and asked me if I was finding everything ok, I told him that I was actually looking for a specific item and he dropped everything he was working on and asked me effective questions while he started searching on his device to help me locate the item. Not only was he extremely friendly and welcoming, but he even walked me over to the isle that he thought the item was at. And when I told him that I was actually looking for something else, he called over his coworker to ask if they know about the item and then they BOTH started walking around with me to help me locate the item. We ended up finding the item and they both wished me a great day. Then I started wandering around debating if I should also pick up a bottle of wine or not, walked towards an intersection of isles and there was an employee pushing a giant dolly with boxes stacked taller than both me and the employee making a turn around the corner. I knew that he obviously couldn't see over the boxes so I stood to the side and waited, and after he finished the turn, he noticed me waiting and he immediately greeted me and apologized for the inconvenience and we smiled at each other through our masks. I decided that I didn't need more alcohol and headed to check out, and the employee with glasses who helped me gave me a big smile with his eyes as I walked by. The cashier was very friendly and worked quick to ring me up and bag my items. Then I decided to grab a drink at the Starbucks right at the entrance. And even the barista displayed exceptional customer service, when talking my order and making my drink, she even added a little smiley face next to my name on the cup.
I'm only giving 4 starts because this is the first time I've really enjoyed the shopping experience at my local Target and I don't know if it'll last. I honestly have no clue what changed today, but I really do hope that the customer service stays this awesome. read more
