Dr. Young and front office staff(I believe her name is Jeanette.. hopefully I spelled it correctly) were so kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable! I had not been in for an eye exam in 18 yrs. I just kept putting it off and relying on my prescription glasses from 2007. I was having a lot of built up anxiety and fear surrounding an eye exam all these years and Dr. Young completely put all my fears at ease. Every question or concern I had was answered with compassion and knowledge. The technology and machines he uses for his exams are so advanced and completely streamlines the exam process. I paid for my exam and prescription out of pocket but Dr. Young was so informative about eye insurance that I will likely be signing up for a provider in the near future. I also find it worth mentioning that they were very transparent about pricing for the eye exam out of pocket and prescription glasses, prescription sunglasses, and possibly getting fitted for contact lenses. I went to target because the screws of my glasses came loose and I came upon a kind lady named Lisa and even though i couldn't use the same screw she gave me a new one and offered to help me screw it in (mind you she was the only one working to) while multitasking, she was even helping other customers while still fixing my glasses and it's took less then 10 mins, I got my glasses and went right back to shopping, Thank you Lisa! . read more

Absolutely wonderful experience! At almost 30, it had been years since my last eye exam, and I knew my eye site was getting worse, so I walked into TO one day while doing my regular shopping, and I talked to the very nice office person and made an appointment for the following Tuesday after giving him my insurance info. On the day of my exam, I showed up early and got to browse the glasses - surprisingly, they have a ton of options! Even lines by target's 'Goodfellow' and 'A New Day' brands. The actual exam was so much better and more comfortable than my previous eye exams with my former optometrist. I chose to have my eyes dilated, and even though I was a little nervous, it went so well! The doctor was so sweet and she walked me through everything. She answered all of my questions with confidence. I picked out a pair of Ray Ban's while I was waiting for my eyes to dilate. I'd say the entire appointment took about an hour from when I arrived to when I left. My glasses were ready for pick up exactly seven days later; they conveniently send a text letting you know they're ready. Picking them up took 5 mins, and I LOVE that it's inside target, making it so convenient to go when I'm already there doing my regular shopping. My glasses are perfect, but they offer a warranty period (I forget how long) for people to exchange their lenses for ones that work better, if the initial lenses don't end up working for whatever reason. My Mom went to Target Optical a few months ago. The staff and Dr was very friendly. Mom had her eye exam and fitted for frames. (Free Lenses). The frames were originally $189 one of the employees brought the price down to $118. (The price included a warranty). My mom had no idea nor was told she didn't have to pay for frames & she NEVER gets warranties.... (My mom has Medi-care and Medi-Cal) each cover the price of frames. When she found out her insurance covers the frames. She immediately called her plan for re-imbursement. He told her the warranty was included in the price. Mom told them that she didn't agree to a warranty and was not informed. Is this the way we cheat our Seniors out of their hard earned well deserved money. I would give them zero stars but you have to give one to post. I DO NOT recommend this store. read more

This is the first time I visit this Target Optical, but I saw a lot of good reviews regarding the staffs here. The staffs are very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Young is the best! My dad had a hemorrhagic stroke and he sees very blurry and has double vision! Dr. James Young is very knowledgeable and intelligent, he educated me on a lot of new topics, floaters, prisms, and anatomy of the eye! He's an excellent teacher, he takes his time to explain everything in details and answer all of our concern and questions! Myla is very sweet, friendly, and knowledgeable and helps us pick glasses and lenses! She explains transition lenses to us. My dad has mobility problems and using a walker, they assist him to the room. Everyone is super nice here! We love this store and highly recommend this to everyone! read more

The Eye doctor was really nice, very detailed. The optician was friendly, but made a mistake on my RX. - had to return after two week, but they didn't call me. I had to call them to ask if my sunglasses were ready. Still, I was dizzy and had to return it. The guy was upset. I could tell. But I wasn't able to use it, might as well get my $200 back! I kept the clear ones though! My point here is, they are REALLY nice when you have to purchase glasses BUT when you return they give you a SNOB "look". Not good customer service Jhose. It's been about two years since my last eye exam and things were starting get a little blurry. Having recently moved to the area, I needed someone close by. Thankfully, Dr. Lee came highly recommended, and I was able to make an appointment yesterday morning. Dr. Lee was very thorough in her examination, and was able to answer questions I had, especially in regards to my left eye, which had gotten worse than my right, and how it had been related to a past ailment. Her office is a very clean and welcoming environment, not at all intimidating as some offices might be, and Dr. Lee herself is very caring and attentive towards her guests. Dr. Lee does not scrimp, she takes her time to make sure everything is done right and that you're given the best treatment possible. I've been a little concerned about my vision for some time, but left with a good peace of mind. Paying it forward, definitely highly recommend Dr. Lee if you're looking for an excellent and caring optometrist, and I know I'll be back when things start to get blurry again. :-) read more

I scheduled an appointment in July for a consultation to get contacts. I paid 90 bucks for the initial fitting and training. My trial contacts were supposed to come in shortly after because the tester contacts they sent me home with irritated my eye so much and did not fit me. It's now December, they still haven't gotten my trials to me. Don't waste your time or your money. read more

My wife and I went there hoping for a good experience. It took much longer for each exam than it should have (neither of our prescriptions had changed and we knew that). But it still took over an hour for both of us to have our exams. Then i had to submit to VSP separately for her contacts because the doctor didn't want to break up fitting / contacts - it made it more complicated for Target or her. (Note, the optometrist costs are separate from Target, you can't use your Red card to pay for her services). The prices are WAY too high, worse than most optometrists offices we have visited in the past and much worse that Costco. I normally am a huge fan of Target and stuff is more reasonable and easier to deal with than Target, but this was not the case for glasses / sunglasses. To add final insult, they didn't do the pupil distance measurement (they only do that if you are buying glasses there). I never said i was committed to buy glasses with them, and when i am given an Rx, i expect it to be complete. We will not be going back to this place. read more

Doctor Lee is AMAZING!!! She took the time to listen to my concerns, told me many interested facts about my eyes, and was entertaining to boot. I actually had fun going to the optometrist! I will definitely return in this location, and highly recommend that others try out Doctor Lee as well. She recommended several pairs that looked good, and made observations about what shapes would and would not work for my face/eyes. The doctor was fine, however I was informed that my glasses would be ready in 5 to 7 business days. I waited for 8 days and was told they would be ready Monday, 1/29/2018. I went in and was told oh no, they not be here until the coming Friday. Today I received a call stating they were ready. I have to rearrange my schedule to make it there because I live in Vallejo. I told the person on the phone that this was very inconvenient, his reply was VERY uncaring and unprofessional! Told me that they always tell customers that it takes 10 days. I was not told that, I was told 5 to 7... HE told me I was wrong! I have received the runaround by the "customer service" part of this and as such will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

Gave them my group member, member number, and the 800 number. Oh sorry we can't find you. I called the 800-number to see if there might of been a glitch, and no glitch... I'm right there. But they obviously didn't want to do their due diligence. And lost a potential customer. I wouldn't dare have them check my eyes! They can't even check for insurance. Equipment was clean and the whole exam ran smoothly. Angela and Jhose, the optician staff, were helpful when helping me select frames.
