Excellent shop, easy parking, great service and good prices. I had an unusual request to swap some lenses to make reading glasses with different left and right strengths. They did it quickly, efficiently and for less than I expected to pay. read more

I actually sought out Dr. Leung through yelp, little did I know she would impress me as much as she did. I kind of wish I could gate keep this business, but it's a disadvantage to the people who want a good eye doctor. I've been to Walmarts optometrist, Costco's eye exams, and a couple of other optometrists around the Bay Area (Oakland was my last place) they pretty much offered the same type of general service "you don't ask, you don't tell". When I went to Dr. Leung, she had a a two woman team that runs the entire show. They both take you through tests to ensure they are not missing anything. They pointed out that my current glasses did not have the correct prescription for my eyes and the material was not what I thought it was, ( I did wonder about this bc the lens started peeling) I was basically paying for plastic. Dr. Leung is not like Kaiser, where you are pushed out because someone else is waiting. She throughly evaluates you and is very passionate about what she does. I have a slightly rare condition with my eyes, my old optometrist kept getting confused as to why my vision was not returning to normal after my pregnancy was done. When I went to Dr. Leung on my first visit, she called out my condition and was able to help me get the correct prescription. These glasses have been the best pair I have ever received. If you can understand my relief as no doctor has ever brought this up. She had the instinct to say "you look normal, but there's something else behind your situation" and I immediately was impressed. Flash forward the following year, she still has the same spunky personality and all of the special equipment to do everything herself. I asked her why does she have all of this new technology and she explained how she wants to deliver good service and if she can do things without waiting weeks for labs, why not provide that to her clients. It's nice to actually get exceptional service. read more

Excellent! Dr. Leung has the heart of a teacher. She took the time to explain all of my results from all parts of the exam and tests. Additionally, she went over my prescription with me and simulated the progressive glasses I would wear and made sure it was all perfect. She analyzed my daily activities to make sure I would get just the right lens makeup. I'm so impressed. The staff was warm and welcoming and answered all of my questions. After 25+ years of wearing GP lenses (my prescription is HIGH). I didnt expect that there would be another type of lenses would make me see better. I addressed the issue to Dr Leung last year which sometimes I found hard time to drive at night, and there was one raining night, I was driving home with my family and I counldnt see at all. And she came up with a new plan for me. She suggested that I should try scleral lenses. I always trust her, so I chose to take her suggestion. Im so glad with my decision. The lenses improve my vision, plus, my dry eye symptoms are getting better too. Thanks so much to Dr Leung. Again, she's very very knowledgeable and is very passionate of what she's doing. She always trying her best to provide the best solution to her patients and love that how she keeps up with the new technology. My son is also doing CRT corrective contact lens with Dr Leung. It's his second year and his prescription did controlled well. Love it. read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I will definitely do that! I scheduled an eye exam for my son and myself. I have to say this is the most thorough experience I've ever had! Not only I had my eyes checked but I learnt so much that I never knew before and I really appreciate that Dr. Leung spent her time explaining every single details to me. Dr. Leung helped us select the perfect pair of glasses for my son and myself. She's very honest on what I should or should not spend my money. She showed us all the options and gave her professional opinion. We are super happy with the purchase. Can't wait to pick them up! The whole staff are so friendly, thank you, Pinky and Teresa being so friendly and patient to my boy :) Also, thank you for doing all the disinfecting during this COVID time! We can't ask for a better experience and I finally found a Optometry that we trust and will be going to to then from now on. I will recommend Simply Vision Optometry in a heartbeat! read more

Dr.Leung is super nice and approachable as well as her staff, friendly and patient. For me, I did not just look for okay service for my severe eye condition, I was looking for a ophthalmologist who truly understands my case and willing to help, here I found Dr. Leung. I have keratoconus, very bad one, it's all red in scan. I looked up ophthalmologist and decided to contact Dr.Leung. I explained to her that I used to wear RGP before and she picked up so quickly, she knows her field very well, she's professional. She introduced me scleral lenses which is a GAME CHANGER! It's much better than RGP and improved my vision so much more now. I am very grateful that I chose Dr.Leung. Dr.Leung is so sweet and she's not just providing service, she does care about my case and follow up with me which is unlike my visit in anywhere else. I do recommend Dr.Leung and scleral lenses if you have keratoconus symptoms and couldn't perform cross linking or other treatment, I've been wearing them a month now, it's very easy to adapt (RGP is nightmare!) I love them so much, appreciate Dr.Leung, they change my life! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Leung for 2 years now. The annual exams were standard and straightforward but thorough. There was a period of times that my eyes were dry, painful, and irritated. I went to see a ophthalmologist and this ophthalmologist did not resolve my issues except prescribing me expensive unnecessary eye drops. I went to see Dr. Leung afterward because I did not trust the information provided by this ophthalmologist. Dr. Leung accommodated me in her tight schedule and consulted me about my eye concerns. I felt a lot more comfortable with the solution that Dr. Leung provided and it resolved my dry eyes after following her instructions for few days. I recently referred my mom to see her as well. The exam and consultation that she provided was beyond exceptional! She mentioned a health condition that the PCP has failed to mention to my mom. Dr. Leung is very knowledgeable and is very passionate about her field. She always explain and address the concerns patiently and professionally. I never feel rush at her office. The staff are super helpful as well. I'm glad that I've found Dr. Leung to take care of my eyes! read more

My first visit to Simply Vision Optometry, first off the staff is amazing. Friendly and very helpful with my selection of finding the right frame. Thank you Joann & Sharon!! Dr. Kalli Leung is amazing, I was wondering why something was off with my prescription. After trying a few optometry offices in San Leandro, I feel like I finally found one that met my needs. The Dr is very thorough and really takes her time to understand and address your concerns. Even though my glasses came back inaccurate, the Dr was very proactive about getting me back into the office to re-examine my eyes and ensure the correct prescription was issued for the new glasses. The staff is also very responsive and kind. Highly recommend Simply Vision. read more

I found Dr. Leung by chance actually, but per usual, with the help of my trusty Yelp. I was looking for a new optometrist in the San Leandro area since I recently changed insurances and wanted something closer to home. My initial choice was actually the office across the street with Flores Optometry as they had a lot more reviews, but terrible availability when I called (and it didn't help that I was new). So I called around and Simply Vision had appointments AND they were taking on new clients. Another thing that sold me was the easy online booking system which shows you all the times and dates, which made it easy especially when I needed a flexiable schedule and didn't have time to stay on the phone to ask what times and dates was free. It was simple to fill out online and I received a follow up phone call not long after to get the rest of my personal information and insurance. They do take VSP and it was little work on my end until the appointment. It's located at the Davis Plaza (where you can park for free), but actually on the other side of La Spa Nails and the buffet, so just walk onto the E14 side of the street and you'll see it. I was instantly greeted and had to fill out a questionnaire about myself. It was extremely professional and Dr. Leung was running on time. She took her time with me and asked questions. Asked about my history and my comfort level with my contacts. She made suggestions and provided up to date information. I actually wasn't aware that there are now an in between two week contacts and hard lenses! But she let me know and wasn't pushy at all. In fact, she wanted me to call back in a week to give my personal feedback to see how I like them. You know she's a good one when she's not pushing products or sales, and honestly cares about your health and well-being. Great with communication and up to date on the latest trends and health concerns. I highly suggest her if you're looking for a new optometrist! read more

I have been coming here for a few years. Always friendly, clean comfortable, knowledgeable. I appreciate Dr Leung her candor, knowledge, professionalism. I respect career women who work hard for the community they serve. It feels like I'm visiting a friend. We have all had to make adjustments and she is doing great working hard. Yes you could go to Costco or order on line but why do that when you could get better service and quality patient care. read more

The office staff is very friendly and polite. The doctor seems passionate about eye care to a point may be a little authoritarian. She talks a little loud and don't really value your opinions as if "... I am the doctor, this is the way should be...". I believe she works hard to do her best, but in a way not very pleasant at times. I think they provide fine services and gave decent suggestions. I just feel the doctor doesn't really hear you or empathize your situation. She seems has a tenancy in making presumption and want to talk to you into her belief of your case. The shop is very small too and have a limited selection of eye wares, as well as their availability. However, the staff was kind in trying their best to schedule you in for a desired timeframe. read more

Dr. Leung is really great to work with. I feel she gives a very thorough exam and asks good questions to evaluate your overall eye health and day-to-day practices to see what can be improved in your habits and decisions. I wear contacts and for some reason this year, even though I haven't changed anything about my routine, my eyes have just been super dry and red and uncomfortable. I bought like every eye drop out there. She took a look during my annual exam and recommended a change to my routine, and it was a total game changer after just 1 day. Strongly recommend! read more

The online scheduling is a plus comparing to all other local shops where you have to call them and hope for the best. Dr.Leung is pretty knowledgeable and professional, and if you can speak Cantonese, you will enjoy chatting with her and the staff. The eye exam process is pretty straightforward. However, it does get hectic if there are many people in the shop (around when people get off work and school). They do have a limited selection of frames, and if you like premium brand names like Prada and Gucci, definitely check them out. However, since they don't have their lab, lenses prices are pretty non-negotiable. Thought you could ask for discounts on frames if you pay out-of-pocket (without insurance). Something to keep in mind for. However, they do do a secondary inspection when the glasses come back from the lab and send them back if they don't pass Dr.Leung's standard. I was told that it could take 7-10 days to get your prescription glasses, but it's a compromise to make when you are supporting local shops. As with any sales, resist the temptation from the salesperson and use common sense and be practical about your needs. My frames usually last longer than two years but lenses don't, so you can shell out a good money on frames but be practical about the lenses as you will probably need to replace the lenses long before replacing the frames. read more

I recently discovered my vision has been bothering me. I made an appointment, and it was super easy and the receptionist was so helpful. I go in for my eye exam. They were extremely welcoming and helpful. They began to explain the tools and tests I would have to do. I am a huge baby when it comes to eye drops or anything really having to do with touching my face and the eye examiner was so comforting and honest. Now, I have to glasses. The ladies there explained to me my insurance coverage and what I needed. They were so helpful and honest while I was picking out my frames. I would not have been able to pick a pair. I highly recommend this place! I pick my glasses up sometime this week! read more

THANK YOU YELP!!!!! SO thankful I came to see Dr. Leung! I've worn prescription glasses since I was 7 years old and have fairly poor vision, because of this my glasses are an extension of myself and, because I wear them every day, they need to be high quality, fashionable, and suit my face. I have seen a number of optometrists in my lifetime, some great, some pretty horrible, but NONE can compare with the experience I had today in Dr. Leung's office! 1.) Appointment/Staff: The ease of obtaining an appointment is incredible. Simply go on the website and make an appointment, literally that simple. Unfortunately I had some insurance issues, but the staff was so friendly and understanding when I had to reschedule not once, but twice. They were accommodating and more patient than I could hope for. Sharron at the front desk was adorable and so friendly. 2.) Knowledgeable: Dr. Leung and her staff completed the MOST thorough and complete examination I have ever had in my life. Multiple measurements and tests were conducted, each with focus and purpose. I have seen an optometrist every year for the past 20 years and never have I seen this level of care and attention to detail. At no time did I feel rushed or pressured to "hurry up and answer". Dr. Leung was such an expert communicator, breaking down each step of the process, explaining the "whys" and "how", she answered my questions before I even had time to ask them, and she was genuine in her desire to educate me on my options. I never felt as though any of it was a sales pitch, just an intelligent, genuinely concerned Doctor who truly cares about her patients. 3.) Selection: I LOVE their frame collection! Everything is stylish, with a diverse array of colors, styles, and designer brands. Dr. Leung picked out the PERFECT set of frames for me. She asked me a few questions about the general style I usually go for, then looked at my face shape and knew exactly what would suit me. Sure enough I try them on and they are perfect! In the past I have struggled SO much finding a pair of frames, at many offices no one is usually very helpful, and never has a Doctor come out to give suggestions. It was so refreshing and welcomed, as she truly had an eye for what looks good. 4.) Cost: Obviously if you have good insurance coverage the cost makes a difference, but what I was most impressed by was the fact that Dr. Leung is completely transparent, she writes down every single charge, gives clear information about options and their cost, and does no pressure you if you choose a lesser cost alternative or opt out of an additional option. The entire experience, from start to finish, was incredible. Professional, straight-forward, honest, knowledgeable, and friendly. What more can you ask for?! Dr. Leung has certainly earned my business and loyalty, as well as my highest recommendation! read more

Dr. Leung and her staff are awesome! It's been years since I've had an eye exam and I'm always hesitant to try a new spot because there can be some not so good optometrists out there. I'm so glad I decided to make an appointment here. This place is located on that little shopping center by Davis St. where Nations is at (across from it facing E.14 St.) Dr. Leung took her time with doing a thorough eye exam - she explained everything clearly and was open to all the questions I had. Everyone there has a welcoming personality. She also had me try on contacts during my time there to see how I liked them & if that could be an option I'd consider. The rest of the supporting staff helped to check me in for the first time, administered pre-exam tests for the Dr. and assisted me with choosing the frames I want for my glasses. They were patient with me taking forever to make my decision. Definitely recommend. read more

This is a great place to have your eyes examined, get contacts and glasses. My eyes are extremely sensitive when it comes to contacts and I thought I would never be able to wear them comfortably all day. Before her, no doctor was able to find any contact that wouldn't irritate my eyes after a few hours. Kalli would not give up after the first two brands failed and found contacts that work great for me, even when cycling. I was amazed at her persistence in finding contacts that would be comfortable when worn for the entire day. I'm also impressed by the friendly staff. They were happy to clean my glasses and replace the nose pads. The facility is clean and there is plenty of parking nearby. I have had a few optometrists in the past and they have all been good, but Dr. Kalli Leung is by far the best of them. Her bed side manner is great and she really takes the time to answer your questions. I had a ton of questions about each tests and she took the time to explain it. She is also well versed in the insurance policies so that when she suggests an item or a test done she knows not to break the bank. She helps you save money while getting the care you need. I have never had a doctor that knows this so well and it shows that she goes above and beyond. The office is also very relaxing and clean.
