This was my third and final store to find/order a new pair of glasses. Right off the bat, their selection is mind blowing: from Ray Ban, Kate Spade, and Oakley, to their own lower-priced brand. When I came in, Tad was working and helped me - he's down-to-earth, knowledgeable and listens. At this point, I had narrowed down what I wanted for my frames & was super specific - polycarbonate lens or medium thick grade, no invisible bifocals (progressive), no blue lens (to offset glare), no photochromatic lens (they darken in the sun). I appreciate that he didn't try to up-sell me, meaning talk me out of what I wanted to try to sell me the most expensive frames/options. As I've stated in two other reviews, my prescription is so "bad," that the lens are more expensive than the frames. I chose a pair of crystal clear (no color) frames. Tad did eye measurements and glasses arrived w/in the two weeks, as promised. I picked them up but when I got home, I didn't like the way they looked on me. That's never happened before - meaning I've never ordered a pair of glasses that I didn't like. Now I had to attempt to take them back and get a different pair, however that might be possible. I figured it would be tricky, to say the least. I'd probably need to shell out more than the $300 or so that I'd invested. Coincidentally, Tad was there when I came into Target Optical. He made it simple and said "just find another pair you like." My face is narrow and I ended up finding a cool kid's pair of round Ray Bans. Yup that right: a child's pair of eyeglasses! Tad made the exchange happen and b/c the frames were cheaper than the ones I had bought, he made up the difference by ordering the thinnest lens for me. Wow - thank you so much! Overall, everyone who works there is focused on creating a positive experience. Thank you for making the process so easy, fun and giving me the opportunity for a do over with my eye glasses! This optical place is the best! Dr. Patel explained each part of the process very well and the two guys working in the front are helpful as well. Going above and beyond to make sure you get what you need. I had been avoiding wearing my glasses that I bought at Costco because they didn't fit my face properly and would slide down my face( this is my first pair). The guys at the front fixed them right up for me and even cleaned them! I have had my glasses for a couple years now and I've only wore them a handful of times because they were never comfortable. This place is the poorest excuse for an eye exam. I made an appointment a week in advance. I verified my insurance that it would be a 0 deductible. I showed up 10 minutes early and then waited 40 minutes only to find out it was $30 and another $ 30 for a retina exam. So I've been to a ton of different Optometrist offices to have my eye exam/ contact fitting and Target Optical is by far the best. Dr. Patel was so thorough and explain every single part of the exam and explain my astigmatism like no one ever has! I just cannot stop smiling after my exam because everyone here was so helpful and kind! I got here 10 minutes before my appointment time because normally i don't get seen until after 30 minutes of my appointment time but i filled out my paperwork and got seen right away. For the first time I feel like I'm getting a great deal on a nice frame and i know how my eyes work Lol You won't regret coming here, so a special shout out to Dr. Patel! I set up an online appointment for a contact lens exam and it gave me a Sunday option. I thought wow this is cool since most places only have opticians Monday through Saturday usually. I show up frenzied to be there on time yesterday to be told by a female at the front counter "there are no doctors here on Sunday." I then state I made the appointment online and she repeats it again in a condescending tone. I have to explain to her I heard her the first time she said it and show the email to a much friendlier male team member. He asks if I received a confirmation call and I said no because the email said it was a confirmation. You can tell there is a problem when the website allows online scheduling of appointments for Sunday's and the staff is oblivious. She then tells me I can reschedule and I said I'll be going somewhere else. Then to top it off when I'm picking up lunch at Halaal Guys she calls my phone to tell me I had the wrong Sunday it was next Sunday and if I call back then they can reschedule. It will be a cold day in hell before I would ever consider doing business with Target optical ever again. read more

I called this location in dire need of assistance after I made an idiotic choice - flushing my contacts down the toilet because I thought I had packed my next month's supply in my suitcase, when I in fact, had NOT brought them. The next morning, blind as a bat, I searched frantically for the new contacts to no avail. (Have you ever tried looking for something when you physically can't see? Not a great situation.) I called this Target Optical in a panic state, and they quickly helped me out. I had to provide my current RX, but they had a pair of my specific contacts (for my special eyes!) on hand, and let me swing by to pick them up. The only reason I'm writing this review is because now I can actually see, and it's all thanks to them. I can't remember the name of who I dealt with, but he was a very kind gentleman. This is the absolute worst place to get glasses. I ordered from the store on 07/17/2020. It is now 08/28/2020. I call every week to be told they have not heard from the lab, there is no progress, they can't do anything for me. I've called corporate who tells me they have no power over their own optical stores and to call the store manager. The store manager referred me to regional who doesn't answer and won't reply. I have been waiting 6 goddamn weeks for one pair of fucking glasses!! This place is a fucking joke!! Update: we are now at 8 weeks since the order was placed. I have made multiple calls to corporate, asked to be contacted through the website, complained to store employees, the store manager and contacted the regional manager of the optical department for target. I have yet to get any response with the exception of a phone call from an associate at the store saying they were still waiting and had no further info... they have now had to order a second pair from another supplier and still nothing. Incompetent, unprofessional, unethical and highly disappointing. Target needs to look into this regional manager and everyone beneath her. It is an absolute shit show at Target Optical 19th ave.. I can't imagine she is able to handle any of the other locations either.. read more

They worked with her to get the specialized lenses she needs and frames which she is comfortable with and support her complex prescription. They are very busy but kind and professional. I loved Dr. Patel! Why? During my exam he walked me through absolutely everything he was doing so that I knew what we were doing, what to expect and feel comfortable during the exam. I have gone to a few different Target locations for optical needs, and have always been pleased. This team here at the Christown location has blown me away with their service. Dr. Patel completed our eye exams late last year, and my son and I both got glasses. My son was hit by a car on his way to school this morning, and was wearing his glasses. The frames were broken, and I called the optical center to inquire about ordering a new pair. The associate that answered the phone was so helpful and caring. When I explained the situation the very first thing he asked me was how my son was doing. When I spoke with the insurance company earlier not one person asked how he was feeling, or if he was okay. He then pulled up my account and said the insurance we purchased would cover the cost of new glasses, all we had to do was pay the copay of $25. When I arrived this afternoon he remembered me and immediately pulled up my account. He even took the lenses from my son's old glasses and gave me a temporary pair until his new lenses arrive. They went above and beyond, and left such a great impression on me. read more

I literally have no idea what Daniel X is talking about. I think he's confused about which office he went too because the staff was anything but pushy. I had an extremely pleasant experience upon arriving 20 minutes late and still being completely accommodated. Dr. Patel was friendly and knowledgable and it was quick and easy. The girl who helped me pick out my glasses (wish I could remember her name) was just the right amount of helpful. She didn't push me and helped me compare prices after I picked out a few frames. All the staff were super nice and talkative which I appreciate. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. The prices are lower than most and I got a discount with my AAA membership! Also, I called on Monday and got an appointment for Wednesday - way quicker than Costco that had a 2 week wait. Give Dr.Patel and Target Optical a chance! read more

Dr. Patel is quick and professional, which is as much as I can ask of an optometrist. The crew out front are like used car salesmen, though. I wasn't particularly interested in new frames and told them this from the outset, but they pushed for me to browse, and then did that obnoxious hovering move that salespeople do. When I didn't find anything, they suggested that I get sunglasses instead. "Optical Technician" is a misnomer for these folks - they're mostly there to push Foster Grants. They also insisted that not using my insurance to get new frames is just "leaving money on the table" which isn't true - no carrier forces you to buy glasses from the same place you're examined. read more

After my exam I was helped by Laryssa, who was super helpful and explained all the promotions that were happening. I'm terrible at making decisions and I didn't feel rushed at all. Amazing services and they have a great selections. I even got a pair of shades! While I was being taken care of there was another woman being help by another associate who was going through about 20 different pairs of frames. Right from the start I was acknowledged although they were running a bit late. This place gets busy!!! Regardless....the doctor was very patient and did not rush my appointment. Bought a pair of regular progressive glasses and a pair of Oakley sunglasses. They were not cheap (around $500 for Oakleys and $300 for regular). I insured the Oakleys but not the progressives, and of course it's the progressives that are a problem. The lenses developed heavy smudge type scratches in the field of vision. These glasses are either on my face or hanging around my neck for 99% of my waking hours, meaning I rarely put them down. Apparently, the special cloth they give you to clean the lenses must be continuously sterilized and applied in a semiconductor clean room setting or else a dust particle or other could start the "scratching" process. The sunglasses never scratched using the same type cloth - nor did previous prescription glasses purchased from others except after a few years. I don't think the coating they use is very high quality if that's all it takes too ruin a pair of glasses so quickly (6 months). If you still insist on shopping Target Optical, you better buy the no-fault insurance because any problems will be your fault. I wouldn't be surprised if the no-fault insurance has exclusions as well. read more

I have posterior vitreous detachment in my right eye and Dr. Patel made sure to check for problems with retina. Best optometrist I have seen. The sales floor was also very helpful. I had an eye exam and frame-fitting here. Although my Rx didn't change from last year, Dr. Patel suggested I try the High Def lenses...and I love them!! My glasses arrived about a week later. They look good on me and fit my face. I've gotten compliments from coworkers and friends. FYI: If the dilation drops burn you may have Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. When I had the drops at this location, they burnt like a son of a gun, so I went to a Dry Eye clinic a couple of weeks later and was diagnosed with the above. Knowing this, I can save the future of my sight by taking therapeutic action now. Sensitive eyes are not normal FYI. read more
