Dr Amy Klein is excellent. She is by far the best optometrist I've been to. And I've been having optometry appointments for over 2 decades, in 3 US states. Highly recommend.
Dr Klein is smart, professional, and kind. She gives specific and thoughtful responses to questions. It's obvious she cares about the patient first, as opposed to rushing people through, and "the bottom dollar."
My experience:
Dr Klein went above and beyond to provide detailed answers about questions I had about LASIK surgery, local experts and their reputations, and pros/cons vs eye glasses vs contacts. She gave me a packet of info on LASIK local resources, including Drs names, office numbers, and ball-park estimates pricing. So helpful!!
Bonus - during the appointment - for the first time ever, I didn't feel like a nincompoop asking the optometrist to flip back and forth, between images/letters to see which one's clearer. It was surprising to work with an optometrist who wasn't dryly responding, and stating off into the distance with a "fml" facial expression. It was refreshing!
Dr Klein's staff:
The support staff at this location are consistently helpful, too. More professional, warm, and knowledgeable than other locations.
I've also had an appointment with Dr Klein's optometrist colleague. (Can't remember his name... He's the older gentleman who also works at this location.) He was nice and got the job done, but not a stand-out.
Compared to other optometrists:
I'll be honest - I was wary of going to an optometrist within a department store. For some reason, I assumed the service quality would be lower than private practices or in-hospital optometry centers. I was wrong! And happily so, since it was easy-breezy booking an appointment, cost less money with my insurance, hardly any wait time before my appointment, and met in the familiar comfort of a Target.
