Beautiful office, very tech forward, and super lovely staff. From the start, I had a pretty great experience at this office. I had to switch from an office I already really loved due to moving so I was nervous. The checkin person was incredibly friendly, the initial person I worked with during my exam was as well, and the doctor was engaging and thorough. I had zero complaints and was ready to leave the office to write this as a five star review.... So why 3 stars? I work in the insurance field. I understand the importance of taking ownership of your own benefits and not relying on a medical office to provide you with the information about what coverage you have. For this reason, I checked my vision benefits before my appointment and knew that I had a $10 co pay for the exam and a $0 copay for my contact lens fit/follow up. I've had the same plan for several years and that's always been what I pay but it's still good to check in case coverage changes. At check in I was offered a $39 photo of my eye in lieu of traditional dilation and I agreed as I hate the idea of getting my eyes dilated. For those doing the math, I'm now up to $49 due for my appointment. At checkout, I was told my total was $153. That's a difference of $104. I paid it and then went to my car to make sure I didn't misread something on my coverage. Nope, $0 exam copay, $10 lens copay.... I go back in to ask the person at check out. She explained to me that I had a "premium" contact lens fitting which is only discounted at 10% per my plan. I did see this on my benefits but have never been charged for a premium fitting so didn't think it applied to me. I'll say this, if I wasn't one to know things about insurance coverage I may have just accepted that as "just the way it is." I could have easily accepted that I got a "premium" fitting because they used extra technology that felt high end. But that's not what premium means. When I asked what the difference is, the person at check out said she's been asked before but doesn't really know. She offered to find out from another person in the back. She was very kind about the whole thing and happily went to ask and brought back a print out explaining the difference. I was told someone would call me because the person she tried to ask wasn't available. There was a lot of vision jargon on the printout that I didn't understand so I had to go home to look up the meanings. Basically it means this.... If you have regular bad vision like not being able to read a street sign far away, you don't need a premium exam. Premium is for premium lenses: astigmatism, multifocal or monovision lenses, post-surgical lenses, etc. I was called the next morning and told that they'd made an error in coding and was overcharged by mistake. They had already initiated the refund to my card for the additional $104 that wasn't truly due. Great! Glad that's squared away. However, my 3 stars still stand. It's 1000% possible that it was an honest mistake. These things happen. It's also possible that it wasn't a mistake and they're up charging for the reasons I stated above. Because if I wasn't me and heard premium exam I might have just agreed to paying it because I could see how the extra technology might make it "premium." Ultimately, I couldn't confidently refer my grandparents to this office without feeling like I needed to check their receipts after every visit. read more

I have been going to this specific optometry facility for the past several years and have to say my experiences gets better each time I visit. I write this review especially since I needed to have my eyes re-checked based on a physical I took at Mercy Hospital two days prior. A nurse administered a simple eye test and told me I would not pass my physical due to my vision score. I didn't think her values were accurate and asked the physician if I were to get a note from my optometrist, if this would supersede their results, he said it would. I called the front desk people to ask if my insurance would cover my annual visit if it wasn't a calendar year since my last visit. She said it would and make a very convenient appointment to see Dr. Johnson who did confirm that my vision was at the standard necessary to pass my physical exam. She wrote a statement on a prescription pad and while I waited the the front area, a technician took the time to re-adjust my frames I had with me and clean them right on the spot. Everyone is friendly, professional, and competent at Primary Eye Care. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for an eye doctor or thinking about switching providers. read more

Dr Langford is so friendly. He listened to and discussed all of my concerns. The office is modern and pretty. They are very high-tech and use equipment that I've not seen before. For example they don't do that puff of air into the eye that I've always had to rule out glaucoma. All of the staff were friendly and professional. There was no waiting time. After going to Wal-Mart vision centers my whole life, I was excited about trying an actual eye care facility. I've never had a more thorough exam. They have the nicest staff who are knowledgeable and helpful. Up-front about costs and fees associated with exam. I had concerns about cost of contacts since I have astigmatism and it's a little more $$$, Mary Kay worked with me about pricing and ordered me a few trials. This was a huge help. Really impressed with this eye clinic (top notch technology - i'll let you know if I get any surprise bills). I found the tech (Angie - I think) super friendly, as well as, Dr. Langford. Really knowledgeable. I had to wait about 15 minutes for my appointment, but the appointment itself was quick and easy...and best of all they were so patient with my two year old who I had to take with me unexpectedly. I made an appointment in January to have my eyes checked. My insurance company said I was to pay them and then submit the charges for reimbursement. Several techs (?) checked my eyes but since I don't know the technical terms, I just listened and trusted that what they were talking about was relevant. I paid almost $800 for this consultation and was referred to another Eye Doctor. That eye doctor took about the same tests and referred me to a retina specialist. (they submitted that bill to my insurance even after I told them of the procedure I preferred). That Doctor then referred me to a Glaucoma Surgeon. I am still out my $800 and am no further in the process because I found out that Medicare and my insurance don't pay for refraction tests - so, I am out a Great deal of money and I've decided to quit. Glaucoma wins as does this EyeCare service. read more

Online scheduling was very convenient. Staff is very professional and helpful. Dr. Langford is friendly and personable. My insurance doesn't cover optimap but I got it anyway. That's what flex benefits are for. The optimap is a pretty cool way of looking at the health of the eye, in my opinion. I, personally didn't care for the sunglasses frames that are in stock. Don ordered me a set from Ray Ban. I liked them, and ended up purchasing those. I'd recommend to my friends. read more

Dr Johnson is Super. I love the Optimapping of my eyes. But the choice of Davis eye glasses to their clients is worst company and my $700 visit with purchasing scratch care to my lenses failed 2 times in 1 year. They hold 1 replacement at no cost, but refused to replace my lens again in the 10 month period that I had bought my glasses and 2 months with new lenses. Now they require me to see doctor again for annual exam $202.50, plus $510.00 for new trifocal line lenses in my frames. This is Ridiculous!! I do not recommend this company! read more

Incompetent is really the first word that comes to mind when thinking of my recent visit to Omaha Primary Eyecare. I made an annual eye exam appointment with Ms. Johnson and it was the last time I'll step foot into this facility. I've only ever seen Dr. Kubica before, and for many years, however I could get in sooner with Ms. Johnson. Along with needing an updated prescription for my contacts & glasses I made the crucial mistake of saying that I'd been experiencing some blurred vision, but I'm at the eye doctor right so I thought I was in good hands for this exact type of issue....not exactly. Ms. Johnson proceeded to skip over any & all parts of the typical eye exam where she's supposed to actually look into my eyes, oh it gets better...She then starts saying I need to see a specialist at the Med Center, wait what!?! Then I get hooked up to all of their new fangled machines that perform tests which I'm never informed the results of. Again people, she never once looked into my eyes but wants to call herself an eye doctor?? HA!!! Incompetent is really a more fitting title here. read more
