He is on social security disability and lives pay check to pay check the optometrist that helped us was every pushy to get his eye examination done because he was her last patient. I think its ethically wrong for a business to know he has this corneal edema that isnt stable (obviously because the prescription changes a significant amount every year) and not advise him agent getting glasses and spend his money just to take it he spent over 400 this past set on glasses for all the lenses comforts for disappointment because he can't wear them. We would have gone back sooner about this matter but I had to do a little more digging and advocating to see more what corneal edema was all about. They advise you ain't getting prescription glasses till you have had lest two consecutive optometrist visits of no change in your prescription to get prescription glasses.

They were able to squeeze us in, but it meant a longer wait because it was essentially double booked. The Dr was polite but didn't explain much. Even when asking questions about the process or prescription he wasn't very clear or direct. Picking out glasses was easy, staff were polite and helpful. I was a little surprised that they let us place the glasses back on the shelf after trying them on. The other place I go to would have you put them in a container so that they could sanitize them before putting them back. Glasses came when they said that they would and they were easy to pick up. They didn't offer any discounts or specials for buying things 100% out of pocket which would be nice. We'll come back here because of the insurance, but it's not my favorite eye place.

So my day started out with an appointment over at Pacific Eye Institute and they dilated my eyes after like 2 hours of sitting there and then preceded to tell me false information about my eyes and eyesight. I had originally gone to get a simple prescription and apparently they didn't do that so I left with eyes dilated with no sunglasses because they weren't given to me and I felt hopeless. I decided why not try this place where other members of my family have been going since I needed glasses like ASAP. I wish I knew this lady's name but sadly I do not; she helped me get a prescription AND frames AND ALL WITHIIN 1 HOUR! I had a hard time picking out frames at first but EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THIS PLACE STOPPED TO HELP ME PICK OUT A CUTE PAIR! And although I can't name anyone specific because I simply don't remember their names, everyone was very kind, warm hearted, and super helpful to not only me but also their other patients. 10/10 would recommend and I swear I'm not going anywhere else!

On my last visit, I didn't recognize anyone, which was a bit disappointing because I used to really appreciate the familiar faces and the relationships we built over the years. There aren't as many glasses options anymore, especially when it comes to name-brand frames, and the turnaround time for glasses seems longer than it used to be. That said, they still move through appointments quickly and get you in and out. It's not quite the same experience I remember, but I still appreciate the years of service and hope it improves with time.

My husband and I decided to leave because this is an unacceptable amount of time to wait. When I arrived there were FIVE people waiting ahead of me in the waiting room. I was given some papers to fill out and asked to have a seat OUTSIDE. What?????? IT'S THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY. IT'S FRICKIN' COLD OUTSIDE!!!!! If someone has to wait outside it should be one of the five visible employees inside the office. Give them a laptop and send them out. They're the ones responsible for overbooking, not me. I asked how long the wait was going to be. I was told at least 30 minutes. Again, unacceptable. Again, I left without being seen. As a sidenote: I was notified three separate times with a request to confirm my appointment (which I did after the first notification). But no call to let me know they were running late. I had to juggle my schedule around to make time in the middle of the day to come to this appointment. The least they could do is be on time. I doubt that there are many emergencies that would account for the amount of time they run behind. ONLY GO TO THIS OPTOMETRIST IF YOU HAVE PLENTY OF TIME AND PATIENCE TO BURN!!!!!!
