He is on social security disability and lives pay check to pay check the optometrist that helped us was every pushy to get his eye examination done because he was her last patient. I think its ethically wrong for a business to know he has this corneal edema that isnt stable (obviously because the prescription changes a significant amount every year) and not advise him agent getting glasses and spend his money just to take it he spent over 400 this past set on glasses for all the lenses comforts for disappointment because he can't wear them. We would have gone back sooner about this matter but I had to do a little more digging and advocating to see more what corneal edema was all about. They advise you ain't getting prescription glasses till you have had lest two consecutive optometrist visits of no change in your prescription to get prescription glasses.

However, my experience took a turn when he encouraged me to try a new contact lens with multifocal lenses. I gave it a shot but ultimately didn't like them. I'm a busy person, so I didn't call back for about 47 days to order my original contact lenses. When I finally did, I was informed there would be a $25 fee to change the prescription since I hadn't called within 45 days. To be honest, I was never told there was a time frame to avoid this fee, and I had assumed this was just a brand change, not a prescription change. I explained this to the office, asking if they could waive the fee just this once, but they insisted it was written on the receipt, and I'd need to speak with Dr. Shih in person. I went in to discuss the situation, and Dr. Shih refused to waive the fee. He mentioned that I shouldn't have procrastinated, which I found a bit dismissive. While $25 isn't a huge amount, I was disappointed with the lack of flexibility, follow-up to see how the new lenses were fitting, and poor communication overall. There wasn't any effort made to contact me about how the trial lenses were working out, and the customer service felt lacking. I won't be returning. It's unfortunate because I thought the exam itself was fine, but the poor follow-up and customer service have left a bad taste. They didn't have a problem sending me texts and emails to leave a review, so here it is. I won't be giving my business to a practice that doesn't seem to care much about clear communication or customer satisfaction

I'm so sad that I've lived in the high desert all these years jumping from optometrist to…read moreoptometrist to get my eye exam when I could have been coming to America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses. From the moment I walked through the door I felt welcome. The staff were smiling and did not permit anyone to walk through the door without a warm welcome. I felt at ease and confident that my eye exam would be completed timely without the pressures of adding on all the extras you are bothered with when you get a new pair of glasses and I was correct. My exam was quick and effortless. The tech was professional and appeared very competent in her role and she proved me correct. I knew my last prescription from last years exam from another optometrist was no longer working and between the tech and the optometrist my new prescription is perfect, I can see and can't wait for my new glasses. The optometrist was also very professional and competent. She fixed my prescription and I saw super clear it was a major difference for me and I am appreciative. The most fun part of going here was they provide you with a small basket and encourage to try on any pair of glasses and place them in the basket so at the end when it's time to check out, you'll be able to try them on with the tech. I love this because most places don't want you to remove the glasses from the wall and take them around the store with you, at least this has been my experience. The two young ladies helping me were sweet, cute and patient. I asked all types of questions and they never one time showed frustration. That's customer service! I just cannot get over all the smiling faces in this establishment, which is rare in most places you patronize these days. Thank you ABC&E. You'll be my new optometrist. By the way, the glasses are not super expensive, another plus. They also accepted both of my eye insurance plans, yet another plus. I can't say enough about the amazing experience I had today. Considering I was a walk-in, my visit was fast. I highly recommend this organization for your next eye exam. Thank you so much a very happy customer!!!!!

This was my first experience with America's Best and I can see why so many reviews say "America's…read moreWorst". While I have nothing bad to say about the employees who work at this location (they were all helpful, nice, and timely), the glasses that eventually made their way to me were messed up in ways I have never encountered before (strange permanent smudges and marks on the lenses). Unfortunately, when I reached out to ask for a replacement, I was told I would need to come back in to get them checked first. Since I live an hour and a half away (and had the glasses shipped to me), this isn't an easy trip. It's frustrating that I'm the one the has to pay with my time and money in order to get America's Best's mistake fixed. My advice: DO NOT use this company for your eye care needs. Especially when (even with insurance) my exam and one pair of glasses cost over $200. You expect to get a pair of glasses that has some kind of quality control for that price, but that's not the case with "America's Best". At this point, I'm writing it off as a loss and will go elsewhere in the future.

Buena Vista Eye Care-Adelanto…read more March 2025. The day following this exam began with not one thing going according to what I was informed would be the timeline. I waited the amount of time I was given then I called for an update then week of the 24th. I was told the lab was checking the quality of the lens. At this time, I had one and a half weeks until I was leaving the state again. I called later in the week and was given the same exact reason. The following week and with seven days remaining, I decided to go to Buena Vista Eye Care and inquire in person. I was again, given the same exact reason and I wondered if there was a sign hanging in the back area with this one response to be given to customers when and if they asked. At this point it was past the number of days I was told they would be ready and with my departure day at hand, I quite frankly told the gal that I was being screwed over. At the least, she could have called the lab for an actual update, but she didn't. I left on my trip without the new prescription I was promised and had to drive literally more than 3,727 miles (round trip) without decent glasses. However, I did receive a message while on the road that the glasses were ready. When I returned, I went to pick up the glasses and they were nice but I did question the obvious bi-focal lines. I spoke with the manager who finally explained why the delays; it was due to my insurance. Okay, if I had been told at the onset I would have had a different mindset. If the assistant had checked the insurance I would not have received erroneous information. I thanked her for the explanation and left. I tried the glasses at home in more detail and wasn't happy because at the inside area of both lenses were literally grind marks! I called, explained and was told to come in anytime and we would see what "might" be available as a remedy. I decided I did not have the time or energy for more of the same. I was again preparing to leave in a few weeks. Disillusioned, I drove to the store, placed them on the counter in front of the gal and told her that I would never wear these and to give them to someone else! "Really?" was the only response. I replied yes then left the store. This was a rotten experience that has truly left a foul taste in my mouth. I hope no one else has to suffer through this treatment and if so, leave your review to inform others of your experiences.

LOVE the office deco while super organized staffs, open space and welcoming. Scheduled to see Dr. Dena Thamsopit...I read up her bio (USC then Ohio and practice history). I had past retina damages (hole/impact then retina detatchment) and had laser tx from well known LA & Sandiego retina specialists. Front staffs awesome ....efficient, in immediately+paper work then patient waiting room. Agreed to do comprehensive eye tests ($40 checking retina, visual field test, pressure check etc....all inclusive)....technician GREAT! After the tests Dr. Thamsposit got me. Dr. Dena Thamsopit calm and thorough. She reviewed results (retina pics by the technician)....pointing out various laser scars from the past retina damages, no growth, optic nerve states etc. I liked how Dr. Dena T. took time to go over everything. I felt comfortable with her expertise and experience. Dr. Dena helped me make decisions on glasses (in the pas had progressive and index which is costly)...Dr. gave me her opinion which made lot of sense and went with what's covered first. Dr. Dena Thamsopit walked me out to the staff (MEL) and briefly told MEL key points. Excellent:). MEL is awesome! MEL helped me in choosing a frame I felt good on, explained things, re:insurance and other options (not covered if I want to choose something more).....the whole deal. I appreciate that MEL is great at what she does and cares. 6-8 wks for Medi-cal glasses. I can also get new lenses put into my existing personal frames for $60 which I will. Best to have 2 pairs. Lastly office called me the day before to check if I am coming in. Nice. Thank you!
